LG B7 2017 OLED TV Professional Expert Review

Ғылым және технология

We do a professional video review the LG B7 series of OLED TV after conducting scientific and technical analysis. Includes demonstration of reduced ABL, and measurement of input lag for playing games. The specific model tested was the LG OLED55B7V, but the results should also be applicable to the OLED55B7P US version.

HuMan - no, you should wait until 2019 for the better xxxxx. No, wait - wait for the 2020 sets, as they'll be better than the 2019 sets. No, wait for the 2021 sets etc etc. See where this is going? If you wait 'till next years models come out, the following years model will be just around the corner etc etc. Just go buy a TV fer Christs sakes!

Another excellent review, sir. I used to think these videos were too technical for the average consumer and they well might be, but with technology advancing more rapidly now than in the past, and with the wide range of options and decisions to make, it make sense to educate yourself in order to get the est possible TV set for your money and personal preferences, HDTV reviews are high valuable.

Thank you Vincent for this fine review and recommendation for the B7a . Here it is, in the USA, one month before Black Friday 2018 . There are still some 65 inch B7a TVs available online. I manage to purchase one today for just under two thousand dollars. I am really looking forward to receiving it. My past two TVs have been plasmas, being a Pioneer Kuro 55 inch from 2008 and a Panasonic 65 inch from 2013. Hopefully everything will go well and I will attempt to set it all up without any professional calibration. 😎

Again, a very thorough PQ review from Vincent.. I wish I could afford the 2017 model. Darn, the thing that bothers me with my C6 is the noise and posterization in dark grey areas of the picture with compressed/low bitrate material like STB HD signals (can be barely seen w/ standard 1080p blu-ray discs). This problem is not present in my previous plasma.. BTW, great tip in enabling 1080p instead of Interlaced from my STB. Good thing mine has that feature. Will have to check if there are motion improvements in that setting, especially with slow panning shots from cable broadcasts.

Bought my LG 55B7V on Boxing Day for £1,499 from John Lewis's sale. Not disappointed. It was delivered two days later and the picture is everything I expected and more. The LG manual supplied is, surprisingly, pretty useless, so KZread reviews and unboxing videos were very helpful. The TV's standard definition for DVDs is very good and BlueRay is absolutely brilliant. I upgraded a few weeks ago to Virgin Media's latest super-fast V3.0 hub to get more hi-def programmes. This combo is unbeatable for top quality viewing. I now have the home cinema set up I dreamed of. Highly recommended. I was going to wait to see if LG's prices came down more - since the latest OLED TV's (LGB8) are introduced at next week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. But I'd rather buy now than miss out and find them sold out.

You was right, I've learned new things :) I didn't know that the PC input trick with ISF HDR is not working. Too bad you didn't say anything about the motion in movie panning shots because this is where Sony and Panasonic could be better. Good to know that using game mode with football can solve many problems. If I understood right then with adjusting few sliders you can have decent color accuracy? A1 is 25% more expensive but has better speaker, motion and upscaling. A1 is your next OLED review i'm sure that you will answer this by then if you think the A1 worth the extra money. I want the screen for 80% gaming, 10% TV series, 5% sport watching, 5% movies. Awesome review, specially because it's a retail unit not LG handpicked. If you say it's an awesome TV then it is, you are my n1 TV reviewer :)

Thanks for the details about motion. I also love the fact you included clips to show the example. Maybe I missed it, but what was the motion resolution? The normal 300+ without motion on and 600 with motion on and soap affect? I also liked the new info about ABL, that's one of the turnoffs for OLED, since it's not the greatest for bright screen like hockey.

The difference between the OLED55B7P (introduced 1st qrt) and OLED55B7A (introduced 2nd qrt) is just that the speaker on the B7P tv has a 2.2Ch 40W (Dolby Atmos) whereas the B7A has a 4.0Ch 40w. My question is, Why did they remove the Dolby Atmos speaker on the B7A tv? and which speaker on the tv sounds better B7A or B7P?

I got the 55" B6 in January for $1800, the reduced ABL, lower input lag, better near black performance, and low lag 4:4:4 on the 2017 models are enticing, but not worth another years wait for the prices to come back down a little closer to earth.
