Thank you for finding this film, I never thought I would see it again. I was the British Leyland employee representing the company on the trip round Europe. There was a more light hearted, but less promotional, version proposed by the film company but I doubt that still exists. I appear as wallpaper in a couple of scenes, on the ferry and the final one, but am a bit blurry for recognition!!! I seem to remember I was blurry on several evening during the shoot.....with a very amusing film crew. Dick and I thought we had pre-empted the public launch when we got the truck stuck up a narrow, windy lane in Milan that put half of the traffic flow in the city into ciaos.......the gathered Italian crowed cheered when Dick finally extracted the artic........he was a real character.

Doable with a ferry cabin. But it was common to see drivers sleeping across the seats using a length of ply stored behind the seat. Plus remember this was logbook days pre tacho. It was different back then. Roping and sheeting for example for multi drop loads .

Norway in a day cab.. you be lucky if most day drivers would drive a day cab now days lol

i worked on the mk 1 at aec ltd.terrible braking system as there was a cable between the brake valve and the brake pedal and it used to stretch.the mk2 was better when the valve was repositoned under the brake pedal.

Did they mention that the cab will rust before getting to your destination.
