Never gives up, that first set I thought was gone and she refused to lose. Fernandez is one of my favorite players. To stay that focused and hungry EVERY single match is just so difficult. She truly has the eye of the tiger.

I like her but... she has almost everything to improve - from physical endurance to mental resiliance. Not ready to face top 10 by now.

@@maciekszymanski8340she just beat a currently ranked top 10, ten weeks ago, and another top 10 four months ago. She made 2 aces this match despite her toss situation. The wind also probably did not help.

I'm happy that Leylah won, her shot selection is top notch and her fighting spirit is second to none! But boy, her serve really needs to improve, starting with the ball toss. Her bass toss is all over the place, you can't have consistency on the serve with such an erratic ball toss. It's just unbelievable that after more than two years having problems with her ball toss her technical team hasn't figure out a way to correct that, she should fired them all (the problem most likely comes from the fact that she bends and then unbends her tossing arm during the movement up to toss the ball which gives much less control that an straight arm).

Her father is her main coach. He knows football (soccer) but I do doubt his tennis knowledge and expertise. The first thing that a coach teaches his/her pupil when he/she gets first interested in tennis is how to serve properly.

Actually her serve has I’m;roved a lot and she had some great serves.

Leylah NEVER gives up.... time and time again, she proves that she is ONE OF TH HARDEST working tennis player on tour. If not the hardest. Love to see her play. She is not there yet, with a game, to beat the top rankers, but she will give them hell, AND who knows she may even get lucky, again.

Cuatro set points tuvo Potapova para ganar el primer set cuando iba 5 a 3 y servía Fernández. Tres errores no forzados y un winner de Fernández y a partir de ahí perdió todos los juegos restantes. Esa carencia de definición marco el resto del partido pues le afectó mentalmente y no se sintió capaz de ganar el partido.

If she had a serve she would be top 10, as it is she’s destined to be somewhere between 25 and 35 at best. She sure is fun to watch though.
