Owned several RXs for 19 years and never knew how to use cruise control. I will try this soon, THANK YOU!!!

If you need to speed up from 60 to 65 (for example) - just pull up and keep till the speedometer shows 65 (you don't need to pull up 5 times). PS: And you don't need to pull down it to re-set the new speed. After brake or canceling of cruize, the only you need is to pull it up once to resume 65 mph. PPS: If you need to reduce the speed on cruize - it works the same way.

I was wondering why the cruise control didnt activate after pressing the ON button and the dashboard clearly showed the icon. I thought my cruise control was broken. Honestly, the fact that you still have to press "set" after you've already pressed the ON button is so counter-intuitive. Thanks for the video, it's really helpful

I had the exact same thing, just got the car recently and thought I'd play around with the cruise control on the motorway so turned it on but it wouldn't work, so guess I should try this before complaining it's broken

I totally agree. The fact that you have to activate "set" after pressing the button is so dumb. I was checking my extended warranty of my Lexus to see if cruise control defect would be covered. I am going to try this next. Thanks for this excellent tutorial

Just traded my 2014 Premium Buick Encore for a 2008 Lexus RX 350 because my Buick has been problem after problem since we got it new and it only has 56,000 miles on it today. I will miss the many features of that car, lol: remote start, Bluetooth, digital speedometer, etc. However, I'm just glad that I'll have a car with a transmission that feels much better.

thanks for the tutorial. I have a 2002 lexus rx300 with this feature and im honestly scared to use it. Havent had a car with cruise control before. I just got the car, and i havent been on a freeway to try itv out yet.

Helped no end. I hadn't been able to work it out intuitively for myself. Agree it's not a very good system as it is not easy to use

Also, while cruising you can pull the stalk down (-set position) and hold it there to coast.

Will a Lexus display “Cruise Information” on the display screen in the middle of the dashboard, even if cruise is off? It says 0.0 Mpg and the actual cluster of the car doesn’t have the icon that you shared with us. So I assume it’s all good. Thank you for this video!

You’re welcome - glad I could help! The one action to press the end of the yes,stalk turns cruise control on. The second action to press the stalk down activates cruise control, so there are two different functions, turning it on, and then actually activating it. I think the reason why it’s a two-step process is for safety. This is the way cruise control operates in every vehicle I have reviewed. Thank you for the question!

Not exactly correct. Once car is on cruise mode tapping up increases speed and Tapping down decreases speed. No need to set again. Braking on cancelling disengages cruise and resume will re-engage.

When I come to a stop, lights or slowdown at a giveway, but still moving I can't seem to resume the speed I set it at. I press resume (up) but the car just continues to slow. My last ar , NOT LEXUS, allowed me to resume the set speed regardless of what speed the car was going. my lexus doesn't do that. I have to get up to speed again and press down for set at the speed I want to travel at.

You have to reach a speed of at least X Mph before you can use reset. Likely 30 Mph.

So this car doesn't have adaptive cruise control option?

there are different options, possibly no adaptive cruise control in Basic model
