Lexus LS430 Seat Filter Replacement

Today we're replacing the seat filters as well as the garnish filter in a Lexus LS430 Ultra Luxury package. If you don't have an Ultra Luxury package, you still have a filter if you have ventilated seats in the front. The garnish and other filters are for the rears which only come on the Ultra Luxury package.
Part Numbers:
Front seat filter: 88921-50010 From eBay: ebay.us/xLdh2K
Filter for rear seats: 88923-50020 From: www.mylparts.com/oem-parts/le...
Garnish filter: 88923-50010 From: www.mylparts.com/oem-parts/le...
Trim Kit: amzn.to/2Lt9Tbv
I've been using www.mylparts.com/ since I bought my first LS430 over 3 years ago. Once you factor in shipping, they're always the cheapest... that is unless you find it on eBay! Try eBay first, and then go to www.mylparts.com/. Between these two, you should be able to find almost anything for your parts.
For a discount on eBay sign up for Rakuten cash back. It's a simple chrome extension where if there's a cashback program it pops up once you visit the site and all you have to do is click their button and just like that, you get cashback. To date I've gotten $77.89 in cashback in the last 4 months. Use this promo code and get $30 after you spend $30 (which you probably will on these seat filters! www.rakuten.com/r/CHRISH3992?...
Follow me on Instagram: / chrisknowsnothing2
Using my code will also get me $30 as well. If you have a problem with that, well then pay full price!
Equipment I used for this video:
Camera: amzn.to/2JX9Hfx
Tripod: amzn.to/2K2dzMf
Lighting: amzn.to/2SB8Ipp
Software for Mac: amzn.to/2Sw4hw9
Software for Windows: amzn.to/2SKMJfA
Cheaper Alternatives:
Camera: Cell phone
Tripod: Balance on a book 🤷🏽‍♂️
Editing Software: iMovie or Video Editor for Windows or use your phone.
Lighting: The sun 😎

    So Sorry for the delay, it's just way too many comments to respond to across all the videos, but I actually used a Go Pro Hero8 Black in this video. Action cams are ok when the lighting is perfect. I really don't think there's a lot out there that can compete. However... low light situations offer poor performance for the most part and for that, frankly I just use a phone. My LG v60 films in 8K but I use 4K in low light situations and it's decent. I have SLR's but they are cumbersome to deal with, plus I'm terrified of dropping them! So if you primarily film during the day. I'd look into a Go Pro. They have the 9 on sale right now for $350 with 2 batteries, an sd card, some other accessory and a year's subscription to go pro which gives you an accidental warranty, so if you drop it and it breaks you get another one free.

  • @ToolDeals

    @ToolDeals

    3 жыл бұрын

    Wow! It's definitely worth a try. Do you have a UL? I assume you do if it's a pre-facelift with ventilated seats. Over time the seat cushion also breaks down and limits the flow. Changing the filter is the easiest, most cost-effective way though. You also get to clean some of the air in there as well. If that doesn't improve it much then the cushion would need to be replaced.

  • @DavidELD

    @DavidELD

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ToolDeals Nah, not a UL, the Snowbird who owned the car before didn't spring for the extras, but the cushion probably is limiting the flow, it has over 430,000 km on it after all, but maybe one of the filters will help.

    One thing about Ford pickups... they generally have all the latest tech in them (for a truck anyway). As for the ES, you might want to try sliding the seat all the way forward and try sticking your head in the footwell to see underneath with a flashlight. Or, try moving it all the way back and looking under it from the backseat. Hope that helps!

    Good question! I have 1 more video to film then I'll start making videos on the cars through and through. But the pre-facelift only has it if you have an Ultra Luxury. • @ToolDeals

    @ToolDeals

    3 жыл бұрын

    Aww man you listen to too many people on the internet! It's been fine. Car has 194K and been in the rust belt its whole life. No issues at all. My LX470 also has an oil suspension. It's a 2001 with 138K on it, again, never any issues at all with it. If it goes out on either, you just swap it out with some USED stock coilovers and some new struts and new shocks. You can get all that for around $350. The UL has so much more to offer than the other trims (minus the CL). I wouldn't buy anything other than a CL or UL if I ever bought another one. They got the better color woods and have double-stitched leather all throughout with suede headliner, soft close doors, and double paned glass. If you're in the LS430 group on Facebook, or even these forums, you gotta keep in mind. Most people are going to praise what they could afford. They'll say everything else is bad simply because they think they can't afford it. It's like the Playstation vs. Xbox wars. It's so dumb. Xbox is miles ahead of Playstation and you know why I can say that? Because I own both! Others will just scream Playstation because it's more popular and that's all they could afford, one system. Same goes with these used cars. There was a deal for a UL in Illinois somewhere at a dealer asking $4K. It looks like it needs new suspension. Grab that one cheap and swap them out and now you have a UL without the AS and never have to worry about it, and super cheap! I thought about getting it just to flip.

    why did the seat have a filter??? 🤔

    That's a great question! There's a fan in the seat that provides the cooling. After looking at my dirty filter, it had a lot of hair and random debris on it. If there was no filter, that hair and debris could've wrapped itself around the fan causing it to move slower which would ultimately result in needing a new assembly.

    @@ToolDeals what? Lol had an LS430 before and will be getting another one and will definitely do this. Did the seat cool better with new filter?

    The front filters on Amazon...$61 + $24.98 delivery. $25 each on Ebay is almost as bad.
