Lexus GX 550 Rock Crawling - Most Capable Base Model Ever??

Putting the a 2024 GX 550 Premium (prototype) through its paces off-road - can’t believe how well this base model did on street tires. This is an early build prototype driven by Lexus corporate staff in Texas.
Just think - bigger tires, rock sliders, and higher clearance bumpers and this thing will be a monster.

Pretty impressive what this thing can do on street tires that were aired down!
Good to see the Premium being capable as well. And on 20 inch wheels. Not really rock crawling and nothing in that video appeared very difficult but good showing of the premium nonetheless. That is the extent of probably 95%+ of owners offroadness with their vehicles.

Agreed the Premium really impressed me, especially on that wheel/tire combo. For those that don’t want/can’t get the Overtrail models, the Premium+ is definitely the sweet spot since it has a few more creature comforts and a 360 camera system which was something we were wishing the Premium had this weekend.

Hey now this one is mid $60s however your point is valid. It’s sad that new off-road capable vehicles are so expensive now

This was held at Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport, TX which is outside of Dallas. It was a group of Lexus/Toyota corporate employees and partners.

Great video cant wait to get my parents the GX 550 overtrail in black. On the other hand, We need better off road tracks in the US, if you compare this trail to some of the ones made by the Russians, Chinese, as well as what I see when back home in Uganda, this is quite a very easy track for offroading.
