i have to thank you, this video was very good help, now my GS 450h runs perfect again. Just bought an battery re conditioner and replaced one battery cell (nr 19) which was low. It took a while to go through all the battery cells but now the car runs longer in ev mode. The whole job incl. cost for batterycharger and battery cell was about 70 pounds. Very sweet and easy to understand english in the video. Thanks alot from Sweden.

Once there is one cell going out then chances of having to replace another one will be very high as the battery ageing. Which mean eventually you will have to change out at least half of them in a few years. The problem with the GS450h it has 40 cells and to gain access to the cells take time and labour intensive. Therefore I would recommend people if you are going to keep the car for another 8 years or more then you should replace it with a brand new pack from Lexus. If you just planning to drive it for another 3 years then just recondition them and cross your fingers. Btw Good Video 👍

Only defective modules can be found via the voltage. With a capacity measurement, weak modules can also be found. These weak modules are among the first to be broken the next time. I found a 7.4 volt module with only 1800 mAh. Normally old modules (year 2007) have approx. 5500 to 6500 mAh. Here you find the way to check the capacity of your cells: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mWl_o7KglZDMZqg.html

Hi, The Lexus owners club has some great information on what to look for, try this link: www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/106557-buying-a-older-450h-what-to-look-for/ In our experience its hybrid alarms, rear suspension strut leaks and if you’re looking around 100k mileage check if the water pump has been done, if not it will likely be imminent. The exhaust can suffer corrosion too. Good luck

If the 12 V Battery is low on Voltage you will also have the Hybrid error. Charge it with a good Battery reconditioner ( Ctek ) but with low current for the AGM Battery. Regards from Switzerland.

I have checked all 40 battery cells and they all showing 8+ not 7 ,5 ?so I’m guessing none of them needs to be replaced. I then cleaned the copper connectors they were not as bad as yours and putting everything back my hybrid light is still on and battery isnt charging at all. What other issues I might have with my hybrid?ok quick update 5 min after reconnecting hybrid battery all is working perfectly as it suppose to again. My battery is charging and hybrid check light disappeared!im so happy now. . Thank you so much you are the star!

this is just a temporary repair, if one has started going out, then all will eventually - why not change everything at once? I'm personally not a fan of downtime when it comes to my car, that's why i drive an auris hybrid. furthermore, i don't think screwing everything in and out, back and forth, over and over again is very practical.

Hi, thanks for watching the video, unfortunately a lot of people can’t afford to replace all at once or they would probably not be watching a video on how to diy, thanks for your feedback though

Do you know a battery replacement for a 2013 GS450H? The one that starts the car. I’m in America if that helps.
