Lexmoto LXR 380, Most In-depth Review!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is my review of the Lexmoto LXR380, This is by far the most in-depth review of the LXR380 you will find online. I had the bike for 6 weeks and I really put it though it ringer. I also fitted and made comparisons with the soon to be available Lextek Performance exhaust and ECU.
I hope people who question my honesty with reviews see this video, I activity beat on these bikes and look for problems. I do not hesitate to inform you in my videos and I do not show favour for a company in fear of never getting another bike to review from them in the future. Even with the exhaust fitting video that was a sponsored video I had some criticism to offer.

PLEASE READ There has been some confusions over the claimed bhp (brake horse power) of the LXR380, here is the timeline of events for clarity. -At the time for recording the comparison and review videos, I checked Lexmoto's website for the bhp figure (basic fact checking I do for my reviews) at this time the claim was 40bhp. As I say in this review and all the other videos were I mentioned the claimed bhp, I am unsure of that figure myself but then I am not a human dyno. -When the comparison video went live to KZread someone posted a comment pointing out the claimed figure on the website was 33.5bhp. I had a look and sure enough it was now showing 33.5bhp. This felt like a more realistic figure and I shared a post pointing out this had changed. This was again for clarity and to stop comments saying "it has 33 not 40 idiot" or words to that affect. -As I write this before I release this review to KZread, the power figure on the website has changed back to 40bhp again. I contacted Lexmoto for clarity over this but as yet no answer as to how this mistake happened or what the official word over this is, as the person who will be able to answer that is currently away. As you see in this video I am always honest with my reviews and try to give the best information to you I can, that is why I have pinned this comment for anyone left confused.

As the weather has been totally Crap, I eagerly await the sunshine in my part of Essex, I've bought the 380 for the new registration in March, & I need to get some miles on it, as for the side stand switch & the rear seat vents unless I get caught up in a rain storm it isn't a problem for me, as it's a Summer toy. Thanks for the reviews Spicy, safe riding out there. 👍🏍️

I've been playing with bikes for over 20 years and last year I put myself through a suspension technician course in the belief I need to learn more and yes I did learn but my base knowledge was sound. So I have a few questions for you. what oil is in the suspension front and rear and how old is it? Was the bike suspension setup for you on it?

With pin point accuracy you actually just described my Suzuki Gladius 650. Weighs 200kg, weight is all low and central, same side stand switch problem where if it isn't 100% folded back to the millimetre then it cuts off when you put it in to 1st, the bike sits at 130mph top end but has so much more in it but its as aerodynamic as dumbo. My bike does the same weird noise at low RPM but doesn't affect the feel or ride at all it's just a weird 90 degree V twin rumble kind of? Front brake is absolutely nutty. Too good for the bike and non aggresive ABS on the rear. I bought mine for £1800 directly from the learning school. Best choice ever. Doesn't 0-60 in 3.5 (video due April) and 2nd gear redline is 70mph. But I would still be interested in owing the 380. I would daily the shit out of it like I do mine. I'm bored of 1st and 2nd gear. I want to redline at least 2 gears without the threat of loosing my license. Great work Spicy. Brutally honest review, no bullshit. Loved it brother 🤙

Hi Spicey I got to be honest you completely sold the LXR 125 to me. and It's really is the best thing i ever bought. for the cost quality size sound and speed of the bike it really is perfect. With the 380, I'm not going to get one. i really love your reviews and i got to thank you! With the 380 i just feel like its maybe 60% of where I need it to be. for the 125cc range Lexmoto has come a long way since for example the days of the xtrs or venom the LXR 125 is miles better (in my opinion) and i really do hope that with time they can catch up to the big 4 with the larger CC bikes. but for my first big bike i think ill pay more and get more most likely a Kawasaki. I think they have hit the nail on the head with the 380 in the A2 market. if i was not old enough to get a direct access and restricted to A2 I would most likely go ahead and get this, save money now and spend it in a few years on the 600cc + market. but as a 29 year old about to take a direct access the 380 is just "good but a little disappointing" for me. so in short trdl: I would get this if i was too young to get one of the big 4 but as a older client this just isn't good enough. and coming from the lxr 125. i REALLLLY wanted it to be better. great video's bro. keep them coming.

My question is, should I put deposit on the bike they have there or wait and order one nearer his birthday? I’m a bit confused as the euro 5 regs are coming in and don’t know how that would affect a new LXR. Would really appreciate your help mate.

Hey the regulations only apply to the manufactures registering the bike. As soon as it is registered its perfectly legal as long as it was registered before the new regulations date. I don't know if the lxr is non euro 5 or not but even if it isn't lexmoto or the dealers will be sure to pre register them so they can be sold after that date.

A reasonable bike although I think a Honda CBR500R is worth spending the extra money on, as the Lexmoto has quite a few issues which would really annoy me. The chain, air intakes (scooping up water), throttle response, poor headlamp, rusty fasteners, coupled up with the disappointing overall performance (MPH and MPG) would make me look elsewhere. Honda's keep good residues (I know they are considerably more costly) and I fear the LXR would look a bit ratty after a couple of years of use and fetch little money. Lexmoto are getting there, but need to get these niggles sorted to be a serious contender in the larger bike market place.

A 2nd hand sv650s would be a better buy IMO, a faster nicer sounding bike and save yourself about 1.5k. The chain being too big for the bike shows a lack of quality and QA. I don't want to hate but 3800 could get you a better bike.

Def pretty cool for what it is. I say spend an extra 1000 quid and get a duke (or rc390) or a g310, or shit, a CBR300 is the same price as this. They'll all be more polished, bigger community, not have so many of these niggles (chain chewing on tire from the factory? wtf?). I def. don't hate it, but I'd spend a little bit more and get a better bike. I'm biased as shit, though, because I have a duke 390, but would highly recommend it to anybody looking in this segment. I have a few bikes (HD's, adventure, "A2 segment", etc.) and am from the US, so no license or hp restrictions, and I'm decent enough financially that I could really buy whatever I want realistically speaking, but I absolutely love that baby duke. Winding that thumper out to 11,0000 revs? 50hp? Thing's a charm. 0-60 in 5.5s puts it faster than any of these, I think, really pulls like a raped ape given it's only 373cc's. Can do power wheelies in town and everything. It's an utter BLAST around town & in the city, super nimble, and can do highway riding quite well, although probably not as well as this as this is a twin. But yeah, I'd really say check it out if you're looking in this segment.... Reviewers and what-not talk about it being a "beginner bike", but I've been riding for over a decade and can easily afford something more expensive to commute on but I don't because I absolutely love that bike - smile every time I wind it out. Too fun. I've had liter bikes that put less smiles on my face than this duke.

no this is not great value!! this is a moped! how on earth do you get a 40 (or even 33) bhp bike to have such a low top speed?! i mean, how is that even possible?! ffs the engine revs to 9000rpm! what for if it can hardly reach motorway speed?

My review is based on my experience with the bike I had and the time frame is clearly started. If I have a issue I talk about it. These bikes come with a 2yr parts and labour warranty so most issue will be covered. As I always say people need to do their own research beyond my reviews as I can only go on one bike. I hope you can now see suggesting I am in anyway not honest with my reviews is kinda uncalled for.

Do you even know anyone with a lexmoto bike? mate I know from work has had his lexmoto zxsr (honda glr copy), rode it to work every day for 4 years, thrashes the living balls off of the poor bike and it hasn't giving him any trouble. And that's on their cheapest (£1600) bike that is actually discontinued now because its an old ish model. Only problem he's had with it in 4 years of abuse is a corroded electric plug which was repaired by himself in under an hour, and it was a cheap fix. So politely stop chatting out yer arse mate.

Bad piston compression in the low revs.... shows they only configured it for the top end...
