I was born in Lewisham. People from Lewisham are known for being tough and protective. In that area, you have to be! But, we're also the kindest people. We'd help anyone! Lewisham and its inhabitants changed not long after I was born. Such a shame

Also the public information boards displaying what the government are doing for the local community .the info acts as a regional barometer.

I believe a lot of the reason especially security working in public buildings like council and government don't like photography is simply because they are and will be exposed for picking up substantial wages for doing little or nothing. What is the purpose of hiring all that staff absolute crazy waste of tax payer's money.

Exactly right. Imagine walking around Picadilly Circus or Trafalgar Square telling everybody you're filming. I was told the same thing by a person on Weymouth Beach some years ago in the middle of the holiday season as I was videoing my friend in his new boat. The beach was completely rammed full and they wanted me to get permission from everyone. Absolute muppetry.

The people in reception complaining about being filmed seemed unaware that they are already being constantly filmed by their employer via the two ceiling mounted cameras one of which was directly above the reception desk. It would have been good if you'd pointed out to the employee that the same law which allows the council to film members of the public and employees in the reception area is the very same law which allows you to film. Instead of saying that you're wearing a mask to protect yourself from pathogens you should say that you're creating your own privacy. The nonsensical idea that a mask can protect against any alleged airborne pathogens feeds into the c0.vid mask wearing agenda and should not be promoted in any way.

The council has to comply with GDPR regulations with regards to recording people. TLA is covered by the Human Rights Act (Article 10) to conduct his recording. They are not the same laws.

The fact is that the council is recording people in the reception area and once they have that data they are bound by GDPR - which only applies to businesses, organizations but not to private individuals recording for their own purposes. The point I'm making is that they feel entitled to film members of the public as well as their own employees but do not recognize their own hypocrisy when they object to members of the public filming them.

The council is bound by UK GDPR - that's one law. TLA is conducting his business protected by the Human Rights Act - that is a different law. They are NOT the same.

You also protest when you encounter unfairness and outright untruths or illegal regulations. I like that, you have a sober and elegant style and then you have a beautiful language. Yes, I always find it strange when the 'city ones' complain to an independent auditor about being filmed when in places like this article, they were filmed and recorded arriving to the front doors of the building and had many cameras filming them inside the building, and no doubt knew also that they had been filmed and recorded dozens of times before they got to the building.

Most people aren’t aware of the loophole that you can film public places, and tbh when you go in filming it naturally will make people uncomfortable, I think you know what your doing here. Also if your gonna do this then do it in a place nobodys conscience will care about. not normal places where everyday people are working, probably stressed with life , bills managers etc so adding to their headache ain’t smart.
