I grew up in Lewisburg in the 1970’s attended Greenbrier East High School. I purchased my first house here , raised cattle and sheep on one of our many farms and buried my stepfather John Dawkins in Lewisburg. It was a w place to live, grow up , and have my first love. The town has changed so much now as I have been gone 32 years but I still think about it every day. I am sure fate will take me back one day if only for a vacation home. Lewisburg is a great place to visit and to live.😂

Our motorcycle club just got back from a 4 day stay in Lewisburg WV. A perfect town for taking 200 - 250 mile loops out and back. The roads are incredible and the views are fantastic. Lewisburg's main street is a delightful 7 or 8 blocks of shops and restaurants. Can't wait to go back !

Although Lost World Caverns is really neat and a great place to visit, I would suggest Organ Cave instead. It's a short drive from Lewisburg and is rich in history. I was born and raised a mile from the cave.

I stayed at the General Lewis Inn a while back and visited the town. You can walk from the Inn to downtown in less than a minute. Lewisburg is a very neat town with a historical background. Neat shops and great food. BUT, I can't recommend the Inn for your stay because of my experience. Yes, it's rich with history and I was lured there for that reason but was disappointed in what i had to pay and what i got as a result. $170.00 got me a bed that was as old as the town with lumpy mattress and paint peeling from the walls and an air conditioner that leaked on the floor and a shower and sink that took forever for the water to drain. I do hope that other rooms there are better than mine was. And no, i didn't say anything to management. But I am telling those who read this that it was not a pleasant stay.

I love WV I live in southern Ohio about one hour from Huntington West Virginia. The Greenbrier is my favorite place there. Iv been going there for over 30 years. The staff at the Greenbrier treats you like royalty. The food is worth the admission and the grounds are beautiful. The state it’s self is breathtaking.

OK. You're both right. Sorta. The Greenbrier Valley divides the Appalachian Plateau to the west and the Allegheny Mountains (ridge and valley) to the east. The Plateau drops significantly a few miles west of Lewisburg thus creating the Valley. Along and east of the Greenbrier River the rock strata begins folding, vertically in areas, creating the Allegheny Mountains. So I say, take your pick.
