Hamilton is currently at the end of his career so it makes no difference if he moves to Ferrari. On the other hand Mick Schumacher will get a chance to show his potential. If he is leaving Mercedes its for good. Edit: He will finally have a poweful car😂

I don’t think Hamilton’s decision to move to Ferrari was based upon Mercedes underperformance. I do think that if Hamilton had won the 2021 title, as he did on the track but was denied by F1 bureaucracy who, for some reason, needed Verstappen to win to elevate interest through artificial competitiveness, Hamilton would have left after that 2021 season. Hamilton is at the end of his career, a long career which saw him break or hold every driver performance record in F1 history. He doesn’t need to add to that resume. However, he can still chase his own dreams, and one of those dreams is driving for Ferrari. I think team dynamics surrounding their favoritism of Russell was decisive in his break with Mercedes, and you can throw in the 1 + 1 contract offer. I think he was just fed up and said to himself, enough is enough, why am I subjecting myself to this crap, and decided to leave. Mercedes, on the other hand, are regretting Hamilton’s decision to leave, they backed the wrong driver, they thought that based upon Russell’s performance in Hamilton’s car that he could be the principal driver into the future, and they did try to give him every advantage, but Russell was not, and actually still isn’t, ready, and he will never be Hamilton, and he has shown not to be on par with Max either. Hamilton’s win in the British GP just reminded Mercedes what they are losing when Hamilton moves to Ferrari next year, and they are lamenting that loss.

It’s sad that the 2021 title fight ended the way it did. Verstappen deserved the title, but Lewis deserved that race. It’s truly unfortunate that an incredible fight between incredible drivers is remembered mostly for one poor ending.

@@Querientje He didn’t need any help to win his first title, which they gave him! He would have a better image if he had lost, as he did on the track, then returned to dominate the next season, as he did, to win his first title, I didn’t insult Verstappen at all, my comment was against F1 for doing something totally stupid like erasing an insurmountable time advantage to set up a one lap sprint with one of the competitors on old tires and the other on new. If you can’t understand that, then we have nothing further to discuss!

@@PodiumPushers You don’t deserve to win the title, and that title was decided by that race, which Hamilton won on the track. To take away all that Hamilton did that day to put himself in position to win that race, and the title, is repugnant!
