If celebrities have been forgotten, they sometimes return to the spotlight with an illness for attention. Lewis is the most real person I have seen. Celebrity or not he is a special person.
Watching this interview after this weekend's moving performance and his announcement really hits differently. What a remarkable human. So brave. Thank you for the music, Lewis. You've given so much of yourself to us it's time for you. I hope you heal.

also here off the back on the Glasto performance. I liked him as a person from the social media funny stuff but wasn´t a fan of the music, because I´m old. Genuinely moved by what I saw at Glastonbury. I wonder how many other 26 year olds have his level of emotional maturity? I know I didn´t. Having listened now to some of the music, I get it. I hope he continues just being himself. With that level of talent I can´t help thinking of other artists like George Michael or Paul McCartney. But right now, take the time needed. As friend said, "when you´re going through hell, keep going".. you´ll get there in the end.
I love how fame hasn't changed him. He is still humble and human. He is literally one of the most talented singers ever. You feel his songs not just hear them. Very talented.
I know Lewis will never see this but I wish he could know how much everyone loves him and his incredible down to earth and genuine personality. I want to give him a big hug and tell him he's adored the world over, what a legend.
Revisited this after Glastonbury, and I wish nothing but good things for Lewis his generosity of spirit and humanity just pour out of him , he’s so honest and open it’s hard not to love him as an artist and human being. I hope he finds help and is able to come to terms with his health issues and can find peace and a place where he’s able to manage them and continue it make great music and entertain the wold with his talents. All the best mate .
This is someone who oozes authenticity, which is something no one can give you or take away.

YES!!! It's very very scottish to be self deprecating in a humorous way. We are very rarely offended by anything. We know the difference between banter and actual hate. A lot of it is also protection. The way he described taking the power away from people by shitting on yourself first.

Lewis is so honest it is amazing! He does not realize how many people he has helped through his songs, honesty and humor. The fact that he was happy to get his Tourette’s diagnosis is amazing. I admire that since I worked with children with Tourette’s and I know how hard it is. Depression has been hard for me since Covid. I lost my mom, dad, father in law, aunt, and 4 friends. I’m so glad Lewis is talking about anxiety in depth. The dizziness and hypochondriac thing is my life. I’ve developed agoraphobia purely because of the dizziness that comes with my anxiety. I’m too scared to leave the house because I get dizzy, then I tell myself it’s just anxiety, but like Lewis said.. what if it isn’t and I actually do pass out? It’s a vicious cycle and I’m tired of it. The hypochondriac thing too.. I won’t even use a new shampoo because my mind can convince me that I’ll take a reaction to it and maybe die. It sounds so ridiculous but anxiety is awful but I’m so glad I’m not alone after hearing Lewis talking about his anxiety.

It's really irritating when people who are lucky enough to be intelligent, wiith a stable and loving background, who put their success solely down to hard work. There are plenty of people out there, who work their socks off, struggle With mental health issues or learning difficulties, with people locking down their nose and call them lazy. They really have no idea.
He is so open and honest. It’s refreshing…but also heartbreaking. Wishing him health and happiness and peace.
One of the best, most down to earth and real interviews I've listened to. I hope he goes on to defeat all his demons and enjoy a happy life.
Lewis, I think your self knowledge, self awareness and high emotional intelligence with such an open heart is key to your authenticity, sincerity and success. Please write a book about your journey! An excellent interview Steven. Thank you to both of you.
Lewis, the moment when you could no longer sing, and your supporters helped you out, has to be one of the MOST amazing moments I have ever seen. It makes me cry every time. You are loved!
I am only 15 minutes in and I am so intrigued by this remarkably honest, genuine, and cool young man. And I feel so ridiculous because I have heard his name before but couldn’t make a connection so I look him up and I see that he is the guy that sings the song that literally brings tears to my eyes when I am driving listening to the radio… I am also loving the way he can articulate the anxiety I feel so well. Loving this podcast

Aww Lewis, I just feel giving you a hug mate! Having worked with bands at grassroots level for years, I feel like once a band, musician etc moves up to the next level, the industry almost takes away that organic approach to the craft that I've seen all the artists I worked with in the past get a real buzz from and it almost takes away from the joy. It just makes me think of Prince and George Michael just wanting that creative freedom. Perhaps the music industry needs to reassess it's approach taking into account the mental health impacts that their current approach has on artists.
I so relate to Lewis Capaldi. My 1st memory as a child ( after finding my dad's post-suicide body at 4) was at the age of 7, sitting in my room doing homework. Our neighbors kids were playing outside, and I distinctly remember thinking 'how nice to hear kids laughing' I suffer from anxiety, PTSD and survivor's guilt. The past two years of my life was spent in a highly functioning fugue state, and most days are spent idealistic death/dying. Despite this, I have held highly paid management positions, and completely addicted to various prescription psychiatric drugs. I am exhausted more often than not, but Lewis, as a youngster, gives me hope. ❤
Live about 20 minutes away from the lad. Knew the name, knew the face, never heard any tunes... usual closed mindedness regarding "pop music". Then watched the lads Netflix doc and am completely bowled over. Would love to jam with him some day.
I’ve never related to someone so much in regards to the self deprecating stuff. It’s a coping mechanism so it stops people saying the bad stuff about you and hurting you because you point out you already know about it
This is the perfect conversation around anxiety and mental health. Thank you lewis for sharing this with us ❤
Lewis is such a nice person. All the negative self talk and self flagellation is so common in people with anxiety. Cause or effect? Panic attacks are so exhausting. One of the great things about him is he is so open, and feels like a friend. He is one of life gorgeous people.
I'm fairly confident in saying that this is my favourite ever interview
I have been going through some horrific anxiety that’s eerily similar to what Lewis talks about here. Thinking you’re Ill or something is wrong with me when it’s all in my head. Thanks Lewis
I think this could possibly be my most favorite interview. Heartfelt. Great conversations. Mental health is so important and you two kept it 100% ❤
Such a beautiful open interview. As a 49 year woman who was diagnosed with complex childhood trauma, ptsd and hypochondria, I relate to Lewis experience as a child where you see your mum in pain and it somehow develops into becoming the clown in the family or for friends. I manage to find humour in most situations and love making people laugh, but the down side is when you’re alone and how drained you feel and fearful that something bad is about to happen every second of each day. People would never guess I have all these conditions and it’s definitely a self coping mechanism.
The fact that he walks into pubs and thinks people don’t like him is crazy. I’ve not spoken to one person who doesn’t think he’s immediately likeable, hilarious and down to earth. I’ve been to see him live and it was incredible, and his personality is what found it’s way to me before his music did. The music is just an added bonus 😂

One of the most honest and relatable interviews I’ve ever watched, what an amazing young man Lewis is.
Lewis Capaldi is a great Legend - one of the people that will be written in history for Decades. Absolute superstar inside and outside
My son lost his dad when he was 4. The impact was so great that he developed ocd and would wash his hands till they were red with rashes. He couldn’t get dirty. Wouldn’t step in water or dirt cause he couldn’t get his shoes dirty. If he dropped something on his shirt while eating he would have to change immediately. And of course what Lewis said about locking the door. He would always start asking me if I had locked the door. He’s 11 now and been in therapy for years but still struggles with anxiety and depression and self image. Thank you Lewis for being you and showing kids like him it’s okay to just be who you are and the world will embrace you as long as you do it from a genuine place ❤ Sincerely - a mom

It's great to hear someone else being so open about their feelings especially in the first part of the podcast, I always feel like I over exaggerate situations and hide a lot of things due to not wanting to 'jinx' them as I have the anxiety of the worst always happening. Over explaining and justifying too is another big thing, and it's always mentioned to me that I go into things too much and explain too much... Never really thought too deeply about certain things but a lot of what he is speaking about is traits of myself which is very tough to come to the realisation of... Great podcast as always, enjoyed listening!
I must say, the intro hook for this podcast was incredibly well done. The fact that you branded it as an exclusive with "questions no one has ever asked before" to immediately use a line from his new song he's promoting to answer one of the deepest questions you asked him this whole episode...I mean...10/10

My Dad has always been a catastrophiser too always thinking of the worst elaborate scenario before it even happens which has passed to me. Even being aware of it i struggle to stop it. I struggle with health anxiety similarly too although i think this was offset by my son having an undiagnosed rare disease for 6 months with no health professionals taking my concerns seriously. It can be truly exhausting. So glad Lewis has been getting help for the struggles he has. Great guy 💖

Not finished listening yet but really enjoying this interview. Always enjoyed Lewis Capaldi being interviewed but he seems really comfortable here. He comes across really genuine.
Such a down to earth guy. A fantastic interview. Well done Lewis and Stephen, genuinely inspired.
We're so lucky to listen in on these conversations with extraordinary people and be able to learn from them! Thanks Steve & Lewis ✨✨
Genuinely brilliant interview, I wish that the people who were successful and who I idolised as a youngster were as open as this. I feel that it would have helped with my confidence and my self doubt.
I love how much Steven was laughing and smiling in this conversation. The whole thing just had a way more relaxed vibe than other episodes. I also love that this was filmed before they installed the black wall lamps next to the guests head, they are so distracting. And of course, Lewis was super relatable, interesting and funny.
I love you're interviewing skills. Lewis Capaldi's honesty, humbleness and vulnerability is so touching, what an amazing artist. Love from South Africa 🌍❤️🙏
This is a fascinating interview- Lewis is so honest and open, interviewer only needs to ask a question and he talks away so freely- and talking about everything so honestly, amazing!
What a lovely and genuine guy. I can relate so well with his description of being an anxious kid with hypochondriac tendencies. Later on in life it morphed into depression and anxiety. When in an anxious phase, doing breathing exercises helps. Also learning about what happens in the body when anxiety kicks in, ie the adrenalin rush and knowing that it eventually passes. Plus, read / watch what Joe Dispenza has to say about the power of the mind.
just finished watching this and i related SO MUCH to so many things Lewis talked about amazing interview thank you Lewis for talking so openly about how you feel about everything makes me realize other people also feel the same way as i do
This is probably my favourite episode. Lewis Capaldi is actually so relatable, so many things he said I though “oh yeah that makes sense in my life too”. Great interview 👏🏼
I absolutely adored this conversation between you two. I could have listened to this for many more hours. I didn't want it to end. Lewis is so down to earth and relatable/real. It had me emotional when Lewis spoke of the loss of his gran and aunt. And how it affected his mum. This is one of the best interviews I have had the pleasure of watching! Thank you for sharing this with the world. I pray that Lewis will be making music for many years to come. I will be there for it, ready to listen! Lewis, Thank you, for being so open, honest, vulnerable, letting us into your private world, funny, and for being an all around fantastic human being! Much Love to you! ❤😘
Lewis is the absolute double of my son who is 21 so I have a very special place in my heart for Lewis! His music is amazing and his personality is golden! So much love for that young man ❤️
This interview just makes me love him even more! A completely honest human being! I love this interview! Real. Raw. Honest. Now a fan and always will be. ❤❤❤❤❤
Respect to Lewis Capaldi for being so open and honest he is a top G!!!
I love him, so sorry he experiences so much anxiety but hope he knows his music is so loved and we love him playing live!
Wow, great interview! Best interview with Lewis ever. I love Lewis, so talented, lovable, genuine and honest. I love the way his family support him and protect him. So precious.
Lewis is a top bloke, who has vulnerabilities, and I have nothing but admiration for him. Seeing him struggle at Glastonbury & hearing the crowd helping him was heartbreaking but amazing. Get well soon Lewis, & know that your fans have got your back. ❤
I’ve never related to someone so much in my life when it comes to how my anxiety is. Thank you so much for this interview ❤
This is awesome! Great podcast ✌️ loving how genuine Lewis is!
