I have owned both bikes. the Kenevo is so stable and holds it's line so precise. There is not really any more effort to ride a Kenevo. In fact, it took less effort due to how amazingly it handles all terrain and is always forgiving and stable. The Levo does handle a little quicker because of the head angle, and is very fast, however, the Kenevo doesn't handle badly at all. It just handles a little differently. The only thing i miss is the 29 inch rims that flatten the terrain, although they handle a bit slower and wagon-wheelish. Over all the Kenevo kills it in all categories and hands down is a better bike. I ride in Southern California with a lot of knarly down hill and technical stuff, fast and flowy stuff, and jumps. (the kenevo jumps so much better too). I loved my Levo, but the Kenevo opens a whole other level of riding.

The struggle is real! After months of internal debate I decided to go with the Levo Comp with the 700w battery. Did some upgrades to make it more of a enduro sled. Rear shock Cane Creek DB coil inline. Increased front fork travel to 170 with two tokens. Swapped bars and stem to One Up Components 35 ML carbon bars. Added Cush core rim inserts front and rear. This bike kicks some serious ass now. Super nimble and playful. Fun on cross country rides but now has the confidence to smash my local DH and jump line trails.

Yet another great review from Mister Rob. ;) I've tried the Levo twice, the 2019 and the 2020 bikes. And i loved each time i've been on them. I would definitively buy one if i had the money right now. Anyway for now, i'm enjoying my 2019 Alloy Stumpjumper. I wanted to try the Kenevo but my local dealer won't get any. Not the kind of bike people would ride here. Here's the review I needed to get an idea of this bike. I'm quite tall (1m85) so a "big" bike like the Kenevo would rather be good for me. But what you said about giving more pedaling on the Kenevo really frightens me. Event if i get more stability on the Kenevo, i think the Levo would be a much more playful bike to me than the Kenevo. I'm more a trail-xc rider than a DH one. Thanks again for this review, Rob and keep the good work. Cheers.

Thanks for the video Rob! You make the best E-bike reviews out there. This has been a REALLY hard decision for me too. I currently have a Levo Expert Carbon, and it's so sweet, but I'm trying to decide whether I trade it for the Kenevo Expert. Rob, are you still riding the Kenevo, and has it completely replaced your need for the Levo, or do you find yourself at times wishing you had the Levo instead? Also, a cool video would be a drag race between the Kenevo and the Levo. I test drove the Kenevo Expert at my local shop and it felt like the acceleration was a bit slower than the Levo. Possibly just the 27.5 wheels that are causing that, but it was noticeable to me. For those struggling with this Levo / Kenevo decision, I found these two videos to be helpful. I come from a motocross/dirt biking background, and the Kenevo seems to be the closest thing to a dirtbike. Big forks and can take a beating. 1.) kzread.info/dash/bejne/kZWsrNd-h7O1ebQ.html 2.) kzread.info/dash/bejne/n32KwZqsns7MZLQ.html

Great review Rob, I have now two Levo’s but I like the looks of the Kenevo so much. Only I don’t have the trails like you guys where I live in Belgium so I think a 180 mm travel will be overkill. But I like it when a bike ride very smooth. That’s why I bought a DT Swiss fork after seeing your review about it and it’s so much beter then de OEM RockShox 35 29, DebonAir spring fork on te Levo.

Enrico Bononi. OR... perhaps just wait for the new version of the Levo? The Kenevo sounds like a really big bike though, with the Levo sounding like the better all round choice. However, the Kenevo would make a great DH bike replacement, or for ones who love long travel and suffer the ups to enjoy the downs.

Kenevo can do everything the Levo can and more. Like saying I won't buy that car its too powerful I have owned both, now on Kenevo. If kenevo is around the levo becomes relatively redundant. Only area the levo is better is it uses less battery and in turbo there is a little less power on the kenevo which I'm sure is a function of the suspension and weight. The rest I would just buy a kenevo unless I was a super sedate fire road rider.

I had the stumpjumper XL, but after more and more riding I found that a L would be more agile. (rode different bikes in Canada mostly L). XL feels safer, but also more boring in the long run). My next bike will be a shorter reach to have a more playful bike. I guess if you are more experienced and not scared quickly, a smaller bike is the way to go if you are in between sizes.

Thanks Rob - very useful insight! - What about Payload / max rider weights though? Can both the Levi and Kenevo take heavier riders (100kg+) ? Or is the Kenevo built stronger with the extra weight in the forks and spring etc? Cheers

Rob I've been thinking you must feel a little big for your Levo ? spesh sizes always come up short in my opinion . I'm keen to buy a new Levo in XL but the reach still seems short to me at 6ft . Demoed the new decoy in Xxl a while ago and it felt bang on and rode lovely , bit worried about the direct sales though . Decisions decisions !!!

Great review Rob! I am fortunate to have an 18 Levo Carbon Comp and 19 Kenevo Expert. I've ridden them back to back many times and love the extra confidence and stability of the Kenevo. With the longer travel suspension I can carry more speed over the roots and bigger bumps and it shows in my lap times of my favorite loop. I am about 2.5 minutes quicker on the Kenevo. I was curious about longer travel and decided to try the Kenevo and glad I did. I also thought I would not "need" 180 mm of suspension travel but once I rode the Kenevo I was hooked. The Ohlins rear spring rear shock is impressive and allows me to maintain traction. I need to ride the 2020 Keneval as on paper the 2019 model is a little more compact and agile dimension wise plus the Ohlins rear shock on the 2019 model works great. Pretty cool to see how much you enjoyed 180mm of travel. The Keneval is a very capable bike! Keep up your great reviews!

Everything functions properly kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of KZread. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!

"Which one do you buy?" The £3000 one with the 700 watt battery.... (Yeah I know, I should be writing this to Santa.) I love the idea of an EMTB, but the prices are still too high. (I understand that maybe they have to be, it's just not yet within my reach) Consider: my Prius V which I bought used (10k miles) for $17,000, that's two of these expert level EMTBs, but my Prius has electric motors, disc brakes, great components, but also a gasoline motor, a much much bigger battery, seats four...granted it's not as good on trails-but it's range is 400 miles. And I can park it any where and with the touch of my finger know the chance of it being stolen, or it's components stripped is nil. So that's another grumble in the way of my EMTB dream-- security. If I spend $10k on a bicycle and lock it while I'm in a restaurant, is it going to be there when I come out? And while I'm rambling on. I'm a sea kayaker. Almost zero security problems. First my kayaks are all 18-19' long, second, there just aren't that many even in California. I've heard storied of kayaks being stolen, or one fell off a vehicle but by the time the owner looped around to get it.... All of these stories end with someone spotting the purloined 'yak and getting it back to the owner. It's close to this now with laptops and smart phones-software and comms instead of friends of friends. It needs to be this way with e-bikes. Thanks for the video. My mouth is watering.... I'll probably sublimate my EMTB hunger on breakfast....
