I don' think they are similar on the inside at all. Hitbox uses arcade buttons that are wired to the control board while Snackbox Micros use micro keyboard buttons plugged directly into the chips. They are essentially just keyboards with custom keycaps! I feel like they would have had a better argument against something like the Vitrix lever-less controller as that is actually made in a similar fashion using arcade equipment. Claiming ownership of the movement button layout seems kinda silly considering they pretty much just took A,S,D, and the Space-bar from the standard keyboard layout anyway.

Even if Hitbox wins, they've done irreparable damage to their name/image. Nobody was even buying that garbage anymore, but now they've definitely put the final nail in the coffin of their overpriced box. Congrats! lmao

Hitbox is going to end up like scuf when they sued valve and win the infringement case but lose 90% of the patent claims, so there will be tons more generic controllers flooding the market afterwards because they'll have a useless design patent in the utility category.
