Moving around the overworld with the fast travel button may help you by seeing which confidents and where they are avaliable. The sodas sold everywhere around the different maps and in the dorm refresh every once in a while and they cost really cheap. Recommend buying the sp ones. Always talk to NPCs with a portrait, multiple times. They will either always give you good lore or end up unlocking stuff. Playing games is the best way to raise the social stats, though expensive. Don't get too attached to the personas, fuse use em but also think about the domino of effect of fusing to make them have good coverage from inherited skills. The Sunday shopping programs almost always sells good or useful stuff.

Hey Shark, got two tips for yah. 1. There are rarely story locks for Social Links. Rather, especially as you get higher in ranks, you'll often have to do at least one thing with them to get enough points to advance. Also 2. There are vending machines on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the dorm

Many of the requests aren’t able to be completed unless you’ve actually taken on the request, so be sure to accept them as soon as they are available.

You seem to be doing fine in Tartarus. With regards to social links, if they hit a wall then it's not because you have to progress the story. It's because you didn't earn enough yellow notes during the previous rank up. To fix this you either hang out anyway (you won't rank up but it's guaranteed to rank up next time), do a Sunday hangout (like you did with Kenji), or pray at the shrine

If this is fine (in Tartarus), then the tactical/strategy performance's bar is placed really low... He literally doesn't heal the party members under 50% HP after the battle, goes to a boss encounter (gatekeeper) and doesn't use buffs/debuffs like sukukaja, rakukaja or rakunda (until after 2 wipes in a row that is). @@subarusama5673 i moreso meant that he's getting along via trial and error lel. Like after that whole disaster with the gatekeeper he started healing more frequently and sprinkling in some buffs/debuffs. Considering this is probably his first jrpg, he's more likely to learn through experience rather than us just tutorial dumping

@@hunterhunter5998 Oh yeah. Failures teach us much more after all. I wonder how many of them will it take him to beat the game. But there is also stuff he will miss out as it's no longer possible for him to experience every social link to the max (in this playthrough) due to poor (not optimal) time management with daily activities. IDK if you're aware, but Caleb from SoS Bros managed to beat P3R with maxxing out all social links on his 1st playthrough. But he has much more experience with jRPGs (and RPGs overall) and he has played P4G and P5R before as opposed to Shark. So I haven't been expecting Shark to get everything on this first contact with Persona series (and possibly jRPGs).

@@subarusama5673 yeah Caleb's playthrough was pretty impressive. I'm not too concerned about Shark missing some social links as long as he does the big ones (if you know you know) and all the linked episodes

The teleporters before boss fights are 2-way. Those are check-points that you can come back to at any time, so it's worth going back to the Lobby to save your game and heal up before you go back to fight the boss.

If you want to get through Tartarus floors more quickly, i suggest sprinting a lot more frequently. You should also sprint to run past enemies you want to skip or to chase rare shadows. If you find the stairs but want to keep looking around for chests, remember that you can quick travel to the next floor from anywhere. You don't have to backtrack to the stairs after looking around

The only tip I think I need to give is to SAVE your game more! Dying to a boss lets you retry, but any other death will delete all your progress! You can always use the big teleporters to go back to the entrance and save before immediately continuing from where you left off. Other than that, you are doing just fine. Also, I think most would agree that the pacing of P5 is much better than P3 at least in the early game (minus its tutorial). I think P4's pacing is a bit better as well, but I don't remember as clearly

I don't think pacing is the right term. I actually think p5's early game pacing is the worst of the three games cuz the tutorial section drags and in general there's a lot of bloat and unnecessary dialogue. p3 early game goes by a lot faster in comparison I do agree tho that p3's first few months have fewer big story moments. It's mostly daily life and setup which pays off later but isn't gonna hook you as much from the start. It's a traditional slow burn

@@hunterhunter5998 Yeah, I forgot about the long tutorial. But once you get past that there's more story like you said. And the "Tartarus grind" that Shark talks about is more varied and rewarding in P5

Everytime you sell the valuables one at a time instead of just pressing the "sell all items" button, it just slightly pangs me. Also when you just don't dash at all in Tartarus, especially when chasing a rare shadow.

@@IbarakiPlays I´m not sure if P3 works the same as P5, but in P5 sometimes you may not want to register ALL your personas. Maybe you caught a weaker version, or synthesized one with "wrong" skills. It´s a nice feature 95% of the time otherwise. Agree on the selling tho.

Yeah unfortunately Tartarus is very grindy and the least fun part of the game. Believe it or not it was even worse in the original P3 game with party ailments like a fatigue meter and other weird gimmicks. At least they removed those in the remake lol

You probably know this already but when you equip different Personas they each have their own weaknesses. So depending on if you go up against a fire enemy and your equipped Persona is weak to fire then you'll get knocked down from every fire attack. It might not matter until later but it's just something to keep track of so you don't make yourself easier to be killed
