    Hey Guru. I sold my 2021 Thar. I sold my 2014 Gypsy. I bought a Jimny Alpha Manual. It is the perfect tactile analogue replacement for my Thar AND Gypsy. Small footprint. Well designed. Go anywhere anytime. Narrow. Easy to drive, park and navigate the Urban Jungles and the real Jungles and Mountains and all. It has a legacy. It has character. It has style. Understated. Happy. Cute. Friendly and approachable and not at all intimidating to other road users and pedestrians. It elicits a smile every time. Having been a long time user of Mahindra Jeeps and Maruti Gypsys almost all my life, I can safely say this is the perfect modern replacement for me. It has all the mod cons that I want. More than adequate power and torque for my needs. And above all, it just makes me happy. Therefore, from my personal perspective, it is the perfect little vehicle. It exemplifies the ‘Samurai’ mindset. Unobtrusive. Light footed. ‘A proponent of Road Absence’ rather than overbearing ‘Presence’. Supremely competent, strong and tough as nails.

    The intention is to motivate the Jimny owners who are hesitant to take their vehicle off road. A lot of the content on KZread is mostly "bad off-road driving". There are excellent clubs across India, great trainers and off road schools. The Jimny takes so many shapes and forms but it's so much more than a road car. Thanks for your support ❤

    Thank you for this video, Guru! It's your videos that led me to subscribe to Motoroids even though I am primarily a biker. I picked up a Jimny in December and really enjoyed both your previous videos, second one being very well thought out as is this one. Mine is also white and I want to get the same radiator grille as you have. Now, as for the actual mods, you have very clearly explained the benefits of each one. Since my Jimny is my daily driver and it is an expensive car even after the December discounts, I am not going to do challenging off road runs like you have done here. Where I intend to use its capabilities is in Himachal Pradesh. I want to take this car to Spiti. The idea is take it where a hatchback would struggle but not get stranded, maybe even leverage 4x4 for traction. One might question why I would buy a Jimny in the first place if I don't intend to use it properly off road. The thing is, it's fun to drive on the road too! It has an old school charm that reminds me of our two Mark 2 Ambassadors that we scrapped back in 2010. Well, the Bolero is more reminiscent of that but the Jimny is too! Also, it makes me look back after I park it. It's just so charming! Coming back to the mods, the radius arm mount shields look like a great investment. Have you considered some sort of rust protection considering how much you ended up scraping the undercarriage? And about the red Jimny, larger tyres can give Maruti Suzuki an excuse to decline warranty claims related to the suspension, steering and the driveline, can't they?

  • @gsrox2007

    @gsrox2007

    5 ай бұрын

    Hello! Thank you for the kind words and continued support. I really appreciate the encouragement. The radial arm mount protectors are a must have. Better to get them on early. There's no harm in staying on lighter trails and tarmac. The point of these 4x4 drives are to understand the vehicle better and get to know the limits of the vehicle and driver. We will never know if a particular trail can be driven or not unless we test ourselves, practice and overcome our fears. Oversize tires are a grey area w.r.t warranty. The sort of people who install them know what they want to do with the vehicle and are ok with the risks.

    @@gsrox2007 Since the stock tyres have a very poor buyback value, it makes sense for me to stick to them. By the time I wear them out, I will have a good idea of how the vehicle performs and what I really need from the tyres. Thank you. I will look into the radial arm mount shields too.

    Do you feel any difference in stock suspension and tough dog in off-road Can you elaborate suspension setup in Jimny how well it tackles, in specific OEM suspension and tough dog in both off-road and in onroad performance? Need separate video for that

  • @gsrox2007

    @gsrox2007

    5 ай бұрын

    The Tough Dog suspension is much more robust and the dampers are beefier. They will dissipate heat much better as they hold more oil than the stock dampers so in endurance scenarios (long continuous use on undulating terrain), they should hold up much better. You can get different lift lengths and also different rated springs if you have more load like metal bumpers, chassis protection, heavier spare tire, overhead racks with things used for overlanding etc. The stock suspension is entirely inadequate with more than 300-350 kilos wet (including full tank of fuel).

  • @gsrox2007

    @gsrox2007

    5 ай бұрын

    Thanks for your support ❤ Technically throttle tuners are just changing the responsiveness of your throttle pedal. They don't change anything in the ecu, there's no tampering with the electrical bits and it is fully reversible. Logically it should not affect warranty but sadly this is always up for interpretation depending on the circumstances.

    How fast can you drive with tough dog suspension over stock suspension on forest roads , rally types?

  • @gsrox2007

    @gsrox2007

    5 ай бұрын

    Thank you for supporting our channel and content ❤ Your question is much harder to answer though. If you are in for a rally style speed run on a trail you'll take a lot of weight out of the vehicle. Unnecessary seats and trim would go first. You would relocate the spare wheel more centrally and lower down inside the cab for better handling. In that scenario the stock suspension would perform pretty decently but it won't be as robust. The aftermarket dampers are designed to handle heat a lot better than the oem shocks. They hold a lot more oil, have bigger surface area to dissipate more heat and foam cell technology prevents "aeration" of the shock oil. So on long trail runs the aftermarket suspension will be more consistent and have greater surviveability.

    Hi Akhil. You should try the throttle tuner first. It doesn't increase the power output but it won't impact your warranty as a remap would. It totally and DRAMATICALLY changes the vehicle feel under your right foot. If you are still not satisfied you can always remap and still enjoy the throttle tuner and the various settings it offers you.

    Doesn't feel too different from stock despite having the suspension lift and the bigger + heavier tires. I don't think it is absolutely necessary for a 2" lift and 235-75-R15 tires. I would try with the factory damper and then upgrade if necessary. 👍🏽
