    Hoya in this video: 'Sunshine,' aldrichii, magnifica, boutii, hanhiae (pink). Apologies for not having these names on the screen...! (And for the wonky screen ratio 😬)

    I'm sorry, 106 year old house...48 windows!!! That sir is amazing. After I get done watching what you have of this series, I'm going to see if you have a tour of this grand house of yours tucked away some place. It would be amazing to have that much available light! I wish I had that. My plants wish I had that. 😅

    Good Video interesting Hoya I wasn't familiar with most of them. I live in Minnesota so growing Hoya has been a learning experience during the long winters, but with grow lights we can grow anything. Love Hoyas most are very easy to grow love the fuzzy ones.

    I also love some of the plainer leafed Hoya! Sure… we all love the showstopper silver splashier cultivars.. but I’m learning I’m a species fan. Thanks for sharing! 😊 🇨🇦

    I am so glad I came across your videos! Your hoyas are beautiful!I've looked at all 4 episodes! I started collecting hoyas 6 and a half years ago and it has been a journey! It's good to see Hoya lovers like you, Doug Chamberlain, Planted in Rhode Island among others with full grown, healthy looking hoyas from your care. It gives me encouragement that my 80 hoyas (and counting😁) can look as great as yours in spite of not using a grow tent or grow cabinet. Look forward to your next! Dee, NY

    Damn 80 hoyas is quite the collection! I understand tho! I went from one plant a little over a year ago to around 40. So I get it. Only have 1 hoya tho. Took a bit to get it to start growing but now it's thriving! Gf had a cutting in water for like a year... now that it's planted it's tossing out new leaves left and right baby!

    The crazy part is-- many of the most common Hoya are more interesting to me than the rare plants. Obovota, Macrophylla, Wayetii, are some of my faves although not sought after. Strange how Hoyas work to me.

    Very impressive first video and your hoyas speak well of your care. You are clearly knowledgeable and I have subscribed. I have family in Iowa City although I am in Vermont. Putting the names on screen was my only note and you have taken care of that with your pinned comment. Please continue. I have hahniae ? spelling. Mine got cold in shipping so currently one leaf. Great to see what it will grow into. Thank you for your video.❤️

    I'm not sure it was impressive ... but thanks so much! I've been practicing editing, so names will be on that screen henceforth. The Hoya hanhiae is a gorgeous plant. Don't worry if the first few leaves look a bit pukey. Cheers!

    I have a hoya someone tossed out in the trash that I have propagated over the years, which I now have at least 2 dozen of. Some generous soul once identified it for me as a specific cultivar but I lost the message and never made a note in my journal. Would you be able to identify it just by a photo of the leaves and flower cluster? Admittedly, this is definitely one of my favorite plants for their sturdiness, vigor,, ease of care and those beautiful, dainty colorful "umbrellas" they bless us with.

    Staning collecting!!! Do you keep your hoyas indoors? Like in the background of your video?

  • @soberplantguy

    @soberplantguy

    2 ай бұрын

    Hello! I keep all of my Hoya indoors, but not in the spot you see there. I was just borrowing our dining room to film that (it's quite dark in there). I have lots of Hoya that grow well in normal household conditions, even in Iowa winters: 'Sunrise,' virtually any of the carnosa varieties (thought slow to bloom), australis, etc. Adding lighting was the biggest change I made in my planty hobby, and I wish I could go back in time to do it sooner 🤣😂🤣 Cheers, and thanks for the comment!

    Hi, love your video and your hoya collections! One question I see hoyas behind you in the room, is there ample light in this room?

  • @soberplantguy

    Not even close! I'm just filming in the dining room while I wait to open the porch up. It's pretty much the dimmest room in the house. Cheers from Iowa!
