Level Crossings & Trains in 2022 - End of year compilation

My end-of-year compilation makes a return for a 2022 edition! Here I feature the main highlights from my year of filming, including my most interesting catches and favourites from throughout 2022. Far from the best year I've had, I've thankfully still been able to go out and see some good railway action and go to a fair amount of new locations. A total of 50 different locations are featured, and below I will provide links to the original videos each is from. Enjoy!

Great video! I loved the crossings on the marchwood branch with the mark 1 barriers and bells and clan line at Reigate.

8:32 - That gate on the right refused to go all the way down, so the gate motor kicked in again and slammed it down as hard as it could. It was like, “GET DOWN, AND STAY DOWN YOU STUPID THING!!!” And at 18:45, we get a demonstration of some special logic built into the alarms that allows them to announce if a second train is coming! 26:51 is very pretty being in the middle of a whole lot of trees! And the mechanical bells just add to the beauty!

All videos in these compilations just used the in-built microphone on my phone's camera I used to film them. It's pretty good; in-built microphones can be really decent.
What is the audio device on the crossing called? In the US, we have electronic and mechanical bells

Most are just electronic alarms, either 'yodalarms' or 'Apello' alarms to give them their correct names.
I wonder, are the gate mechanisms hydraulic. Bc ours are gear and electromagnet driven

The resounding majority are hydraulic, but funnily enough there are a couple here and there that are gear driven.

Rosslare in Ireland.
Those gates are noisier than railroad crossings in the UP Springfield sub. (Most are the rare gateless cantilevered ones)
