Level 42 best live band I've ever seen.
THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF TOTAL MAGNIFICENCE!!!!
This performance is a stellar showcase on how good a fusion band Level 42 were.

Every time I think I'm a bit bored for now of hearing Love Games I hear a new early live performance and have to think again. Stella, these boys are way beyond that...Kronenbourg, Lowenbrau and beyond. Bloody amazing.
Only Mark King can play bass like that, sing and chew gum all at once.

The fruit pastel is attached to his right thumb isn't it. He takes a sneaky suck in between solos.

His guitarist is known to chew gum as well.

Best Level 42 song!
There's been many great drummers in the band but I think that Phil Gould really does the job with his simple but relentlessly bombastic drum work. Classic :)

Reminds me of Johnathan Moffet and Michael Jackson 💯
Just wonderful musicianship. Ensemble playing at its finest.
This is the finest rendition of 'Love Games' by the band I have ever seen! Everything about it is sheer perfection! You have Mikes stellar keyboard work and raw energy. Boons superb guitar playing, Phil Gould on drums surely one of the UK's finest groovers , I place Phil in the same league as the late great Jeff Porcaro and of course the simply epic bass playing of Mark King. What more can be said about the guy..he is simply amazing! That JD Bass sound...holy moly! 42 were about as tight as a band could possibly be in those days.

Personally I prefer Live at Wembley 1986, but they are all good, I just personally prefer the ‘cleaner’ Level 42 sound myself :)
This is my jam!!! ❤
Awesome Mark King
Those triplets...lol like it was nothing. I love this band!
The whole band was spectacular in this Bochum 83 show.
This is outragesly good! Oh, my F God!
Simply outrageous jamming to the expected level.
Apart from amazing bass playing Mark’s vocals are very strong. Superb performance and energy from the guys.
This is the reason live bands matter
They grove-up the beat from the original version. It is more difficult for the players, wow.. amazing live performance👍
Caution........'Genius at Work'
I have been one of the spectators :-) A night i won't forget fo shure!
One word: energy.!
RIP Boon ❤️ x
Level 42 were great back in 1983: loving the change of words.
Bought this DVD for £1.04 off eBay.... My best buy yet
Was lucky to to have been around (and involved in the jazz-funk music scene) when L42, Shakatak and a load of other Brit-Funk artists and bands exploded onto the scene. Saw both these and Shakatak, not to mention David Sanborn, Marcus Miller and a shed-load of others on numerous occasions. Seriously fab days!!!
Maravilloso x Dios
Love the moment between Mark and Mike at 5:19.
Wow! That is power.Phantastic performance
Outstanding!!!!!!
Phil Gould in da house!!!!!!!!!!
Mark king....The Buddy Rich of Bass players 👍
MARK KING IS AMAZING..
Back then Mark was like a machine... amazing
I want to point out that naughty Mark King changes up the lyrics a bit (starting at 6:40) by singing (instead of "if you won't show your heart to me, set me free") "if you won't show your tits to me, set me free!" Hilarious! Maybe because everyone in the audience was German he thought they wouldn't catch that, and they probably didn't. But this Mark King fanatic sure did.
Incredible performance... Notice that Mark K. is so high on adrenaline that he sings "TITS" in stead of "heart" at =06:41 😀
I love Level 42, but I have to say that this song deserves to have a great only instrumental version, with also brasses, etc.
amazing footage thank you for this
Amazing! Thank you!

It's actually quite hard work to play bass like that for that length of time.

Mark pulls it of and makes it all look so easy ✌
I heard that at 6:40 and had to replay it... The guitarist seems like the only one not "excited"...
Show like ,578 DJ play Jorge Palmer Mix salvador Bahia Brazil deixando um salve!
6:40, the naughty lyrics change
The best bass player on earth.

Not the best, the most popular yes.Marcus miller/victor wooton/stanley clarke etc. Mark will admit this.
Chuck all that new jazz section away and that digital sound and just play it RAW like this please Mr King and Mr Lindup
nothing like the original four , no disrespect to the other musicians who played with level 42 through the years , but i could sure do with a reunion with the classic line up .

Guitarist boon sadly gone.
Monster!
@JohnLMcCoy Hey man, you are right!!! I did'nt notice it! Thanx.
German television in the 80s was conservative and boring most of the time, but they had one thing down: always excellent sound in their live recordings.
i think those are the codes for some song breakdowns or solos
hot shit
skip to 5:40. trust me
