I turn mine in about 20 minutes after the event when it’s more clear. I noticed if I have a lot of blood from solo killing mobs and get killed by another player, I will lose a lot of blood because the amount lost is based on percentage. So, turn the blood in for coins as soon as you safely can.

Love your content but I kinda think this is a bad take. There is plenty to do....as long as you haven't rushed to 40, most of my friends aren't even 40 yet. SoD is mostly about leveling and exploring the world and acquiring runes. If you sat in SM and blasted to 40 then I think the point of SoD was lost on you and thats on you. Usually I'm not ot one to tell people how to spend their time, but honestly you cant say "there's nothing to do" when you opted for efficiency due to FOMO. Still 50-100 of hours of stuff to do, which for most people who don't play like its a full-time job is weeks of content.

How fast you get to max level doesn't impact how much there is to do at max level. In fact "efficient" leveling in dungeons leaves you more quests to do at 40 for gold.

Helping other people is pretty core to the game for me, maybe part of enjoying the game can be working towards others enjoying by helping them level or quest or get items etc! Maybe we don't always need something new to grind out and can just enjoy the world of warcraft again. Well that's always been my favorite thing about vanilla anyway.

level alts to 40 and fill their quest logs. get tailoring/leatherworking on all of them. at 41 your can craft cured rugged hides and mooncloth every 3-4 days for passive gold

I totally am having a differeny experience. I have found myself making pretty much every class as an alt. Im having fun questing, for for a weird change, playing for the sake of the play. lovin it!

Great video Scotte. You summed up my thoughts about sod. I dont LOVE pvp but ill do it for the gear. And yeah it sounds like leveling an alt/grinding money in the open world is a good way to stay busy outside of Gnomer lockouts. Interesting point about the daily dungeon. I suppose it could go either way

I agree. I spent alot of time at 25 farming runes/shreader items. This phase that doesnt really exist, at least for warriors. I'm now raid logging, few BGs and living alts.

same 100% - warrior isnt terrible, its just super mid feeling. the only major thing is being able to charge while in combat, for pvp. but instant slam is so boring. our runes really dont change the class. Other classes have radical runes, like meta for locks, dispersion for priests, hunters throwing traps - mages with living bomb. Warriors didnt get anything new... like just stuff we already had, but hey, its an instant cast on a 6 sec cd now... if you play warrior pvp, you play arms, you just play a regular classic warrior

That probably was mentioned before, but you can get your copper coins at the altar after the event ends, too.

It's painfully bad as a rogue. We need 1 item from dungeons for preraid BIS. The rest is BFD or stuff from AH. There's actually almost no agi leather gear from dungeons at this level cap. As if anyone doing dungeons would bring a rogue to begin with.

It would be good if there was more dungeon farmable prebis, a lot of it comes from quests or bought.

Grinding the dungeons from classic eould be amazing bc this current content is some of my favorite ever. I was a meta slave in wrath so doing it now like i said esp if there were some dailies or weeklys would be 👍🏼

Phase 1 was fun for at least a few weeks. P2 has been boring from the start.

Would be nice if the added a few epic crafting quests with actual things you can use or sell for Leather working.

90% of the guild already quit phase 2 and aren’t coming back. I hit 40 in about a week and haven’t logged in much since. Literally had more signups for an ICC achievement run than Gnomer lol. Glad some peeps are having fun, but I cannot wait for Cata at this point.

Cata hype. Sod was fun but I’m way more attached to hunter that I’ve played 2019 launch. I’m at level 30 on sod and just don’t want to log on , it’s a chore

I just don’t think SoD is for you then and I truly hope Cata comes out soon for you. I’m just happy that for once there is a slower paced game catered more towards simply having fun and casually playing the game rather than pouring hours and hours just to keep up with guilds pushing for min max culture.

Every since then then and even before that I've been wanting to play Cata. If I wanted to play retail I would, I want Cata which I never experienced past getting to 85.

What grinds my gears as an enhancement shaman is that most of my bis from gnomer is leather... I just leaned to wear mail 😮‍💨

I would like to see some daily quests added to help build up some money to buy consumes/mounts etc..

I haven't even hit 40 yet, im close (38) but this phase just isnt nearly as exciting as i thouht it would be. Not even close to p1, hard to explain it but it doesn't feel too fun

SoD should be double the experience for everyone all season. Or at least once you have a character at cap, your alts get double experience gains.

SoD will be the alt phase for me. There's much less to do at 40 than at 25, and having a miner alt to compliment my BS/Engi main will help massively

Got to 40 after a few days of playing pretty slowly by just questing. Not anything to do now except run the raid on lockout.

It is what you make of it, plenty of things to do. Obviously if you only enjoy one aspect of it won't take long for you to get tired of SOD that's just how this version of the game works. I mean if you don't like Alts, grind AB/WSG rep then there are not a lot of time sinks in this game for you..

I started phase one with 4 other friends that all used to play in Vanilla and BC. As of today, none of us are playing.

As a feral there wasn't a single dungeon drop from 25-40 that could've been an upgrade over current BFD gear. Have barely played since I dinged 40, bit of a shame, wanted this to be my new comfort game.

Not true. The ring in GY is bis. The shoulders in rfd are excellent. They're aren't many granted, but there's some things. Great quest reward in badlands, chestpiece.

I prefer double PvP ring tbh, so didn't even try for the SM one. And the RFD shoulders might be good for tanking? Not comparable dps-wise to the shoulders from quest in Feralas imo. Hope you're having a better time than me in p2 tho!

Phase 2 isnt doing it for me for a few reasons. Mainly, im feral dps and my spec is garbage, or at least not what i hoped it to be. Yes, utility is amazing and you bring a raid so much that they basically have to take one. Secondly, i find the rune acquisition to be a chore. Things like dark riders or catch 3 bugs all over the world? Pretty meh. I would be okay with it, if it wouldnt be the same stuff for multiple classes. This was the case in p1 too, but not by such a large margin. The design is lazy in my opinion and gives me zero incentive to level up more alts because i know i have to do what i dont like, again. Third, locking PVE bis items behind PVP acitivities. Never a good idea, but with how much of an untested oneshotty shitfest STV was and partially still is, its double the punishment. You have to do something you dont like and its even worse than you expect. Another reason, gnome-raid. While its still super easy overall, its definatly a ramp-up in difficulty, even if its just 2 bosses that are somewhat challenging. While its very easy for the regular player, gamerdads and braindeads will struggle and thus the pugging-scene will be heavily impacted im assuming. P1 you could just get someone without hands, just with consumables, and get through the raid. Its not as simple anymore ( dont start a witchhunt, it is still easy, but i just compare P1 and P2 with a look towards the worst players of the game ). In my opinion, they are steering it into the wrong direction. Raids should be flavorfull but as easy as possible. I dont play Sod for challenge. Its for flavor and beeing OP and fancy. Rune-acquisition has to get better by a multitude. There shouldnt be a duplicate questchain for multiple classes. Make them all unique. Its the MAIN feature of SoD. Focus on it. They should be quicker with adressing clear prior neglect towards classes. Ret and feral? Just amp their dmg up by 50%, see what happens. If its too much, just half it, then half it again, and so on. Dont throw the players breadcrumb after breadcrumb in terms of minor buffs. ( The Rip buff was one of the most laughable "buffs" ive seen in a long time ). Draw a clear line between PvE and PvP. No rewards from one, for the other. Positives: The sleeping-bag and rested-XP snacks were a superb, creative addition.

My main is a warlock and i just cba to respec everytime i wanna do something. Raid i need 1 spec, for PVP it's another and if i wanna farm stuff efficiently i have to go a 3rd spec. It becomes really really annoying and im basically just raidlogging now. But i also have my alt at 40 so i can farm some stuff which makes it more fun when you have other options and not just stuck on 1 char, otherwise i would probably have quit or barely play tbh.

people used every crazy way to get to level 40 during the first 36 hours of the launch, without even sleeping and now they say "no content" xD Bro MOST people are hitting 40 in the last 3 days.

As another person down in the comments said, SOD is extremely casual, literally made for dad gamers. And yet for some reason, there is an EXTREMELY hardcore playerbase playing it. If you are so hardcore with so much time on your hands.. why dont u play retail or FFXIV? There's tons of challenging raids there...why don't u give it a try? Classic wow was always like that... Like if u dont want to do pvp at all, farm gold or lvl up alts... what do u expect?

Collect armor for your class. Dont have leather and mail as a pally or warrior or cloth as a shaman or druid. Farm badges, they turn to justice points. Im pretty sure everything below frost emblems turns to gold. Really. Wotlk is kindof a snoozer and prepping for cata seems null since a lot changes with classes once pre patch drops. Or take a break Or level toons to 80. Look for what class you may want to play for Cata. Leveling and gearing main and offspec becomes less of an ordeal. You will likely replace icc heroic gear with higher ilvl greens so being full bis really isnt necessary. Ilvl takes over instead of unbalanced poopy secondary stats like armor pen and mp5. Most importantly- collect transmog pieces and keep them in your bank. Fashion is the real end game

It’s something I was genuinely worried about during phase 1, was what phase 2 would be like. Leveling in Classic WoW from 30-40 was never a great experience. Questing was rough because it always felt like there was just barely enough quests if you spent a good chunk of your time running all over the world, and a lot of those quests felt very grindy. And Gnomeregan just isnt as cool or fun as BFD. I also figured that there would be a lot fewer players and that would tarnish one of the best things about Classic: a populated world. With the STV event bring pretty bad and PVP in general being pointless unless you play one of the classes that can one-shot, they kind of ruined half of the content thats available. That leaves… not a whole lot left to do. Because the BFD gear was so OP there was nothing new Pre-BIS to get save for like 1-2 updated things in SM that dropped seemingly 50% of the time. Leveling alts has been frustrating too. There's significantly fewer players, but the respawn rates are still set to turbo. Im constantly finding myself dying with 4-5 mobs attacking me and no way to get out. And then being on a PVP server, the few players that are actually on are level 40, and seem to have a "red is dead" mentality even if you are 10 levels lower, so thats fun… Back to SM I guess? But that sounds about as fun as a colonoscopy. I think I just convinced myself to call it quits 😅

I think you are delusional. 30-40 has an insane amount of quests you can do, especially after 35 where you can quest in like 5 different zones. As for gnomeragan, it being cool or fun is a matter of perspective. Atleast it is a bit harder than BFD and I see a lot of groups not killing the last 2 bosses somehow. Stv right now is far FAR better than ow it was before. Druid's starsurge and SPriest's SW:D have been nerfed already. Now you see groups asking for paladins and hunters because they have the highest sustain dmg and health so we've moved away from the one shot meta. As for BFD gear, that onmly applies to rogues/ferals and 50% on mages. Plates had to farm rfd/uld like crazy (i've done over 40 uldaman runs by now). As for alt leveling, the respawn rate is influenced by the amount of players in the area so no it's not dead. Or you just cann't figure out how to drag mobs away from potential spawn points. As for the pvp server mentality, it was YOUR choice play in a pvp server so I don't understand why you are complaining about it. If you want to quit, atleast be honest about it and don't use bullshit excuses.

I rushed to 40 but still have loads to do. Raid every reset. Max professions including fishing. Farm gold and finish my crafted BIS helm. Two mounts to get from STV + finish WSG + A/B rep. Get all weapon skills to 200 (completionist) farm enough gold to constantly have potions. Even then I’ll level an alt in between.

Yep plenty of things to do if you actually enjoy the game. Same for me minus weapon skills but added gearing up for all 3 specs (playing druid) so I am sure that will take some time.

The world, social interaction and a pinch of nostalgia are the life blood of classic wow, with everyone min maxing, rushing to cap, leveling in dungeons, logging in once every raid lockout, we lose all the magic of classic wow.

That should not impact you unless you let it though. Let people do it and if they get bored and quit, so what? SOD is extremely popular, it could lose 70% of its player base and you would still have people to raid and do dungeons with. You don't have to min-max you don't have to level in dungeons like the sweaters. Let them nerd it out, they will be gone in a week anyway it does not effect you one bit.

As someone that loved PVP back in vanilla getting to revered just by half afking for 10 mins in ashenvale every 2 hours then halfway to exalted by casually playing with friends feels like I am cheating lol. Played vanilla for more than a year and did not even get close to exalted. Now I am almost exalted at level 40 just by playing casually that's insane. Back in the day you had to really no-life it to get to exalted.

I would love to see a pvp rep tabard that we could wear in dungeons to grind the reps because I am not a fan of pvp at all. It would give me a reason to run more dungeons besides just helping out guildies or friends. Also a daily dungeon quest would be awesome to.

PVP rep is so easy, you can get all the way up to revered with ashenvale which is pretty much non-effort then you have a guaranteed 1k rep every week from quest. You really don't have to do much WSG at all to get to exalted. AB on the other hand though....

my warlock is level 39, he will be my Third 40. Hate PvP. probably gonna get a 4th character to 40 then casually work on the rest of my characters, i had 7 raid-attending 25s, im probably going to do 2-4 in this phase and try to do more herb farming. but yea, if you dont like PvP, this phase is really light on content. oh, and im 6/6 on one character and 5/6 on the other 40 right now. it is what it is.

As soon as I hit 40 on my main, I went gnomer, cleared 6/6, got nothing and instantly started lvling a new character (also now 40). Only because there's literally almost nothing to do. I like pvping, but I just heavily dislike the reputation grind. You're basically already full pre-bis from being full-bis in phase1 BFD. Gnomer loot is very similar to BFD actually, and if u want to pvp theres not much u will go for in there either tbh. Almost thinkin about getting a 3rd up to 40 soon, just out of boredom. The 3 day lockout will be nice, but still very little to do. Wish they added more, or new items from dungeons or some kind of incentive running dungeons "for fun".

I like the idea of a daily dungeon quest. I was really hoping SoD would add ACTUAL NEW content to discover! Really sad we didn’t get a new dungeon! Also is it too much to ask for an epic quest line (maybe not as bad as opening AQ gates) but something where you summon a new world boss. IDK personally I like gnomes the new raid and new STV. But I 100% agree they did not give us enough content this phase

Or you take sod as a way to relax after work. I sm grinded to 40 in 2 days, and now are doing all the leveling zones. No effort as the mobs are green and grey, and higher level zones i do with guildies. Super relaxing and fun.

"I reached max level and now I"m getting bored" 20 years later, several game versions, still the same question (and probably won't change, whatever may come). Just enjoy the game folks and be grateful to have this "Classic +" experience, because 4 years ago this was nothing but a wish.

I played all of season 1. Ran out of things to do in the last month after getting fully BIS on a few characters. Now that I’ve dungeon grinded to 40 in p2 I feel like I’m already full pre raid BIS upon hitting max level and raid logging already. It sucks feeling like you only have a chance of improving your character once every 3 days.

What's the need to grind dungeons and googling guides for runes? Quit optimizing the fun out of your experience

Because leveling is not fun.. at least that’s what me and the thousands of people spamming Scarlet monastery on the first couple days thought. Who wants to pvp/pve if you don’t have all your good runes? You’d be useless in pvp, and out performed by 95% of players who grabbed their runes for pve. If “optimizing the fun out of it” means simply focusing on making your character stronger so you’re not a wet noodle.. then I think everyone should be doing that.

@@zc644 if all the thousands of "no life tryhards" went back to retail, your lovely game would be dead, completely so. Vast majority of players are not filthy casuals like you, they actually try to gett better at the game.

We cleared gnomer week two (didnt have 10 guildies at 40 week one bc we are lazy) with a bad comp and no world buffs or consumes. Now im just farming gold, and leveling alts almost exclusively in bfd raids 😂 imho, i think SoD is intended to be played alongside wrath and retail, rather than compete for your time and make you choose. Playing a little SoD, a little retail, and a little wrath, basically raid logging in all 3 versions, actually ends up being quite a lot of time spent doing just the fun stuff 😂

level other classes. got too much to do :P

How many people are really going to continue this for months?

I don't know, it's the 2nd week and we've already at the state where we are taking breaks to play other games simply because we had nothing to do with your mains.

I played phase 1 for almost the whole duration, I expect phase 2 will last me quite some time as I like to level alts so plenty of things to do for me.

10 alts collecting rested exp. Not getting my leveling work diminshed again.

@scottejaye Can you do a shoutout in a video somewhere about the state of rogues and their runes? Mutilate's cost reduction change has now made it replace literally every combo generating ability rogues have. It's made every single playstyle obsolete. I just want word to get out to the devs that they need to do a fix on rogues to bring their other skills up to snuff to at least have a niche use. As it is Mutilate hits harder than backstab, cheaper then saber strike, makes more combo points than anything else, benefits from basically every talent backstab gets, gives extra chances to proc poisons and trigger both weapon effects. Just give it a gander if ya don't mind.

I've actually been quite enjoying the week lockout. It's been nice having our raids just blast on Tuesday.

me and my mates have quit, we got to 40 and theres literally fck all to do. Did the raid once, it was OK at best. I would love to do some pvp, but pvp has never been worse in wow lol

Well obviously if all you cared about was the raid then you are playing the wrong version of the game. Only 1 raid in SOD so you'd get bored pretty quick. Probably better to play a version of the game that has many raids or dungeons. Retail would be my best suggestion if you want a variety of PVE content.

Are there even "PvP Players" in SoD ? Like what do they even do all day? Kill lvl 35s that are just trying to quest? Or get in a Discord where you can Pay to be in a Rotation for Arena Grandmaster Trinket? Hell yea that seems so fun to grind out lol

Definitely feel like I enjoy more of the PVE side and the PVP has just never been fun for me, but with all of the rewards it’s definitely an incentive.

Nothing to do but still raids are looking for 6/6 to rush through.

Honestly what really destroyed my hype in P2 is the mount cost being normal. i know ill get the "go back to retail" comments but idc people can have their opinions but the main reason i don't want to lvl alts is having to get the 100g, 80g if honored for a mount on every toon that just isn't fun for me. Some people enjoy farming gold i don't i never have, i also never was good at it :P i want to have free time to do whatever and farming is not one of those. Shamans also are still awful to play unless you tank and that bums me out. I invested time in this toon and i just don't feel like it was rewarded. I understand people have hundreds of gold so mount cost is nothing but i don't and even the AH prices seem extremely inflated even after the bot purge.

That's a shame, did you dungeon spam? Usually the leveling journey from 1-40 should be enough to get gold for the mount if you quest all the way with the right professions. I got 140g just from the leveling between 25-40. Mostly from skinning and cooking.

@@zjeee i did a little of both quest and dungeon spam. Idk maybe im just not enjoying phase 2 as much as i did phase 1. Idk what i can do different to change it. I enjoyed 1-25 getting multiple toons. Maybe its just the fact 1-25 was easy and anything past 30 just seems to slow way down, guess im just not used classic.

Phase 3 needs dungeon per day limit or reduced xp after few runs in case you grind it for item

All P3 dungeons need every piece of gears stats rework to make them viable. Will never understand these straight to DE or vendor items. Also they should make dungeons HARD like heroic BC hard where CC and coordination is needed

@@Ithyphallics considering the ashbringer questline and corrupted ashbringer it would make sense at 60 and on top of that letting us purify the ashbringer in the scarlet raid. But anything can happen

Like what the previous comment says. Even if you didn't rush to 40 by the time you get to 40 as a rogue. There is a fair lack of content to do to improve your character. Dungeons offer no reward other than fun.

let me just take my sweet time to get to 40. Read every quest and lore. Look at every blade of grass and enjoy the view. Sit in every inn and chat to the people around me while im resting. Its a fkn 20 year old game, people want new shit to do, suprise suprise

is not a big surprise that everyone rushed to lv 40 in a pvp based expansion. Levels are the biggest and easiest way to get an advantage in this game. The real problem is that developers don't know what an healthy game loot is. They could have introduced some STV scoreboard, some ranking, titles, rated bg, anything to give a reason to play the game more than just doing a raid. Look at league of legends or Overwatch. LoL is living 15 years with the same map and there is a reason

​@@nickmoro1908 Why do they need to change it? People are there because it's classic and people love classic vanilla, also it's slower paced so everyone can keep up. The kids that rush through it and get bored after 2 days will go off to other venues anyway and won't stick around long term anyway. There are plenty of other wow options for them, Classic wotlk era, Cataclysm coming soon, retail etc.

To tell truth.. I made level 40 in the same day I got my full pre-biss, day after I farmed all runes.. and went to Gnomeregan and its clear now. What I would welcome. would be Raids for 5 people. Not mythics plus .. but just to turn old dungeons into option to make it raid like - with gear strong enough to be like 10 M raid.. Would be cool, if drops would be like 80 - 90% of 10M raid.

This is the same complaint since the beginning of time. If you speed to the end, have friends carry you, camp dungeons, then yeah, grats, you made top lvl, but you also skipped the entire game & now have nothing to do. The journey is the game, not the lvl cap.

Funny you uploaded this as I just felt the same way this morning. Hit 40 on my warrior a few days ago and got basically bis in a few dungeons. I absolutely can’t be bothered leveling my 25 UD priest up right now. I hate PvP and honestly I wasn’t aware gnomer was 1 week reset. I thought it was 3 days and the last boss is actually tough. I prob won’t be playing as much as I did in P1 and I leveled 6 toons to 25

wrong btw: you can turn in blood AFTER the event end, as long as you dont leave your group

Hit 40 today. Quested and got runes while lvling… max proffesions. Don’t care to max AB rep. WSG is almost exalted but ehhhh. Instance gear blows ass for rogues at 40… so yea nothing to do besides gnomer.. thank god I play warzone lol

Ya I don’t see SoD staying alive if they don’t fix this issue next phase. Give us a real raid. Not a slightly higher difficulty than a dungeon. Or give us a progressive style couple raids. Aka 2nd raid is harder then the first where you want gear from the first one to do the 2nd smoothly.

We need some hard shit or make a heroic version to fight towards after finishing one. Or a daily dungeon with some tokens to get to a tier piece. Something but yea this ain’t it. Pretty much only raid logging.

Yeah as PvE Player who maxed out Professions and just cant get bothered to care about an alt, you really lack the motivation to log on

I'm still level 38, starting to consider my runes will need to run uldaman for gear. Need to keep farming for my qol books. But if you don't like pvp classic wow is always going to be a little bit missing content. Most people help friends find that missing drop in dungeons. 40 was never meant to be sat at for months. So of course it will feel a little baren. You missed 1k Ashenvale rep from the weekly though all the way to exalted so you really want to be doing that once weekly

The raid items from gnomeregan are barely better than the 25 raid, so disappointing

Im a pvp player and this phase is just awful, stamina on gear should be x2 for pvp to be playable. No good rewards from AB. Each class needs 1 item from stv and you get it after 1 or 2 events. There is nothing to compete in. Gnomeregan is a good raid but raidlogging is just not exciting for me. The only thing you can do is alts but its boring waste of time

@@Dualities yeh... what I dont like about sod is that nobody will ever be a "good sod player". Its going to constantly change until we reach 60 play a month and then the game will die. We need a new game mode or something that people can compete in... Sod is just for casuals

Oof .... "something to do" .... I think we will look back at phase 2 as a total bust, although the STV event is fun, I already got what I "need" out of it. Not sure how long it will last.

Yea tbh I quit like 3 days ago it’s just not really fun now gnomergan is cool but that’s it everything in the game is already scuffed and I’m not about to spend 50+ hrs farming gear for no reason just to get 1 shot by a rogue with bad gear bc class balance

Got two 40’s all runes on em, working on the next pnes.

How it currently goes for me as a warrior: 1. I log in. 2. If it's up I do the raid and don't do too well (armor of the bosses is currently too high but that can be fixed so no problem) 3. I think about farming: Realize warrior sucks at farming, so I decide not to. 4. Think about doing PVP - realize I am a piece of paper and get oneshot by everyone, so I decide not to, and even if I do PVP most rewards are not worth it - e.g. STV 2h mace sucks because it's a mace.. 5. I log out.

You know what I would do if I reached that point where I just hated the game? I would just tell myself it's time to find a new game to play and move on.

Bored at 40? Thats exactly why Im always taking it slow why leveling. Finding runes and other stuff. And then at 40 I start leveling alts which I love to do. Im not a raider my self, I have played this game for 20 years and love leveling, thats my "endgame". Thats why I never rush. Its not a competition for me.

You hit level 40. Now what? If you're a ranged hunter then it's time to go try HellDivers2 and come back at phase 3.

Spending 20 minutes to lose an AB game and get 33 rep. What a time to be alive.

I agree totally, perfect opportunity for epic goggles and they chose a belt…..

P2 seems better than P1 to me, Gnomer is more fun than BFD and classes are more complete, especially Shadow and Elemental. But its true the SM grind is brutal, especially on the 2nd character. They should make Student Fodder craftable by cooking.

Yes you get to be one shotted by warlocks and mages, it’s soooo much fun

The alt issue is a big one. Phase 1 was great because you could level multiple alts and have quite a bit of fun exploring the runes, without a ridiculous time sink. Blizzard needed to significantly increase non instance farming exp to make the leveling process actually fun 26-40, and encourage people to level multiple toons to once again explore the new runes and interactions with an expanded talent tree and abilities. It's kind of troubling that Blizzard's devs can't see what made P1 successful, which was purely fun. At the moment I can't imagine seriously leveling another toon in P2, and I had one (ok four) setup and ready to go for it. It's boring. It's not rewarding. And I'm a huge altoholic and usually love just questing to chill and relax. Obviously can't speak for everyone, but the game seems very quiet even in peak times already on Shadowstrike. With the little development effort they are putting in for each new phase, the primary design should probably be around people leveling 3-4 toons to max level, to try out the new runes, and expanded toolboxes, and obviously also to give people multiple toons to raid and do stuff on. That's obviously going to keep people far more engaged and actually playing with these shorter phases, and also helps with their pretty hamfisted 'balancing' attempts so that people should have at least one playable toon when they suck the fun out of others with nerfs.

Can you imagine how bad phase 3 will be? Probably max lvl 50.
