I'm not an expert myself but as far as I know, if it smells like burning hair but doesn't like to burn, that points towards wool :] Bernadette's book probably told you but yeah (And that first one you thought was silk I can tell just from the way it moves that yes, it is silk! Very nice box you got!)
Great haul! A lot of beautiful fabric. One caution- please please do not do your burn tests in this manner. For safety's sake, cut a small swatch and holding it in a long handled tweezer or tongs, burn it over a sink. Wear safety goggles as well. Some fibers burn very fast and hot. Stay safe!

Wow, what an amazing mystery box! I'm too sensitive to too many fibers to risk it, so I very much enjoyed living vicariously through your experience. A silk blouse would be so lovely.
