Lets Test a Reefs 299LP Servo on the LOSI Promoto MX

Ойын-сауық

Lots of people looking for a replacement servo for steering on their LOSI Promoto MX bikes. Many that have been tried have had tremmors and been jittery, if not down right glitchy, including the suggested servo by LOSI from what those have tried it said. I have seen a couple people use Reefs servos with great success. However imo, its way overkill in the servos they chose. Stock steering servo has a megar 140 oz/in of torque at 7.2v (stock esc bec setting I think). I saw one person use a SMART 1100 and one use I think it was a RAW 500 both Reefs Brand servos. But they are way stronger than needed. The 299lp is plenty strong enough giving 299 in/oz of torque at 7.2v so over 2 times the stock steering servo, and its speed is .07 at 7.2v, so is very fast and should be a mure suited steering servo and not be overkill. FWIW when I upgrade the brake servo, I'll be usuing the Reefs 179 Micro as it has 158 oz/in of torque at 7.2v and is plenty of strength for the front and rear brake if a functional rear caliper comes out.

Not yet. Just saw it doing that when I made the vid. Don't think it was doing it Sunday but can't be sure. At any rate the 299LP didn't twitch any more than the stock servo did. I'll try my other bike tonight or tomorrow. It's still new and not yet been fired up or had a battery plugged in to it yet.

Think I saw one person using the Raw500 with no problems. Just overkill imo. Stock steering servo only has 38ish in/oz of torque, so anything over double that would be overkill imho. Seen one guy use a Smart 900 with that said... @@mdraigtr2406

Another likely suspect was proximity to the rx. I had the tx pretty close to the rx, and in a 2.4 system that can cause some funkyness. I'll try it again this week and make sure the bike is at least 10 feet from the tx.
