Some shearers (men AND women, btw) use a hanging strap that they lean over to support some of their weight and make it easier on their backs.

The sheep needs their coats off for the warmer summer.

Border Leicester wool is the finest wool breed in the UK, not sure about the Lleyns. I agree, it’s absolutely criminal that the wool typically doesn’t get used as the astonishing material it can be. England’s historical wealth in wool built castles and cathedrals! We don’t need to be wearing petroleum-based fibers in our clothing, where wool is natural, and truly has phenomenal value. It’s truly a shame that wool is no longer valuable to the farmers.
