Fabulous darlin! Very inspiring! I’ve been collecting bits and pieces for a while now and, now I’m busting to do it! Thankyou! 😊💚🇦🇺xxx
Watched half of your video...went to thrift store and got a pattern..watched rest of video...now to make something. Thank you for what you do
I picked up at couple of vintage patterns earlier in the year and didn't have an idea how I was going to use them till this video. I really struggle to find things to use for my Journals in Charity shops, other than books that is. Occasionally I'm able to find things like the sewing patterns in one particular charity shop but mostly I go home empty handed. Plus only a couple of the shops seem to have vintage books and they use them as shop decoration and the books quite often are not for sale or when I ask how much they are, the staff come up with a silly price. I was recently quoted £5 for a book that was literally falling to pieces and was basically fit for the bin, I liked it because the pages were old and had a great colour but it certainly wasn't anything special. In fact in general Charity shops local to me seem to be putting unrealistic prices on there items. A staff member in the one shop I occasionally am lucky enough to find something interesting in, once asked me what I was using the things I bought for. When I told her I used them to make Vintage Junk Journals, she pulled a face and since then I've learnt not to ask her for a price on an item I'm interested in because I'm sure she doubles the amount she'd quote anyone else. Unfortunately she seems to be in the shop virtually everytime I pop in, so if I do find something I want to buy and it doesn't have a price on it, I usually don't end up buying it because I know she'll put a total ridiculous price on it when I end up asking, how much I is. I don't sell the Journals I make, there just for myself or a very occasional gift, so I can't afford to pay silly prices for the things I find.

Yes lol we have to be very creative...LOL I would check out Amazon for books and World of Books in the UK. I get a lot from there... Ebay os good too but I dont use it to be honest. Finding an antique store or vintage store may give you better options too x
Luv these. These patterns are from dresses I made in high school 1966. So I guess I am vintage also
I really like those tags. I went to an antique mall this past weekend and I found some patterns but they wanted $3.50 for each, I said NO WAY. Glad you are able to get your patterns pretty inexpensive. Enjoy watching your videos, thanks for sharing. :)

I'm seeing this a year later. Thank you for saving these old patterns from the landfill. I have bunches of them and was thinking of a sewing journal as well. I'm surely inspired to make a bunch of tags etc. Thank you!
Really like these tags and envelope, even though i don't sew! My mother sewed matching cloths for her triplets(i'm #1) years ago, back when it was more economical to sew rather than buy cloths.... these are lovely! Thanks for the video, its alot of work i'm sure!
I'm not feeling well but your video made me so happy. I can definitely do this. Thank you, Tracie.

Love watching older videos. Sewing pattern paper is such a treasure Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Tracie! You are quite right about three things in a composition being pleasing. My otherwise useless commercial art education did teach me a FEW interestingly useful tidbits of info, art-wise. Turns out that groups of uneven numbers are always more pleasing to the eye than groups of even numbers. WHO KNEW??!!!! Have a great week, my dear!!!! Oh, just glanced up at the date of uploading......geepers, I am late to the ball, aren't I??? lol...... ;-)

I LOVE these! Thanks for the great ideas!
This is lovely. I made a journal from a pattern with Indian costumes.... just wish I had taken photo's before I gave it away, or can remember what I did with it!
i really need to finish the 2 journals i am working on currently, so i can start 15 more inspired by your lovely group and videos! ;)
Thanks beautiful lady! Blessings!🤗🥰😍👏👏👏🙏

I love this idea. I’m a seamstress when I choose to be and love all things to do with sewing. Just lovely ❤
You are a phenomenal artist. You have a great eye for space and placement. Don’t be so hard on yourself, u r brilliant on screen. Whatever u think is a problem is just in ur own head... we cannot see it. All I see is an amazing artist!
I love using patterns! I decoupaged a drawer & it looked so beautiful. Such ethereal paper, just love it!
Waist 29 inches, hips 40 inches, FYI. Thanks for the inspiration. I have a ton of old patterns, I think I’ll give it a go! Love yours.

I love the address on your table cover..529&1/2!! Makes me wonder how they got addresses back in the day. Half a dwelling? 🤣🤣 Oh and in the USA patterns back in the 60’s and 70’s came in the yellowish brown color. Some could be aging but most is just how they came. My Mom used to make our dresses and Barbie doll outfits. Don’t know how she worked on such tiny Barbie outfit but she did😘😘😘

New subbie here. I have a bunch of old patterns that I've used to sew the intended item. And I've hung on to them which was silly because of course you are probably not going to make the same thing again! I love everything you made on this video. And now I feel vindicated for saving those patterns!! 😂. Thank you for the inspiration.

valerie - You Ishtar look in thrift stores for old quilting magazines! I have seen them in my local - not big national stores though. Those of us who have them (and patterns) tend to hold on to them forever. Some day, a whole hoard will be at my local thrift store!

Looks great! Started using patterns several months ago. I have my own stash of vintage sewing things from my mother who sewed constantly in the 50’s through the 70’s. She saved everything plus her mother’s. Be fun to see your completed journals! Great video!
