Why would ANYONE want to mess with a Mantis Shrimp in the first place? Those things are capable of seriously injuring a human with a single punch because of the amount of force they can generate. 1500 Newtons of force (which is 337.213415 pounds of force when converted to pounds) and having the capability of delivering such punches at 50-60 miles per hour, yeah you don't mess with a Mantis, if you see one, you leave it be because it knows exactly where you are with how their vision works.

@@cursedhawkins1305they have the ACCELERATION of a bullet. By that I’m pretty sure it means that in one second they both go from 0-25 mph or whatever. Their punches aren’t the speed of a bullet but they increase in speed at the same rate.

Punching a Mantis Shrimp that can punch with speed of a bullet and heat of the sun? Sounds like a good idea to me.

I love Ross finding person after person dead to mantis shrimp like a Final Girl finding her dead friends.

For the "words spawn enemies" thing, I think it would work a lot better if it not only didn't tell them what the words were, but there was a random delay between like 1-5 seconds between the word being detected and its effects going off to make it far harder to work out what was said. Also making the words be far more random and not things the group are known to say. Things that they might accidentally say when talking rather than group memes would add to the unknown factor.

Also, I have owned a fish. His name was Bob. Bob was a beta fish. Bob was then given some roommates in the form of two snails and two goldfish. Slowly, Bob killed off each of his roommates, until he was the only one that remained. After that we decided to never get Bob a friend again. Only a few weeks later, Bob decided to become more acquainted with our water filter, the story ending with a toilet flush and two sobbing children, aka me and my sister.

I had a Moore goldfish who hated pink pebbles loved the bubble machine, and would pile the blue around the bubbler and would show displeasure by taking a single pink pebble and spitting it at the glass. Miss ya Marty, you goofball of a goldfish who death stared my mom for attempting to touch his beloved blue pebble display.

You've probably been asked this before but will you ever do the facility clean up mod? Its basically a mod where instead of hunting for loot you go into the facility and clean up the place removing corpses of employees and monsters ,along with trash and blood, you can then sell all the stuff for money while also avoiding any living monsters. Also I love your videos and the way they tell a story almost instead of just funny moments, keep making amazing videos ❤

I don't know how much fun that would be for the group as a whole, not to mention the replacement they have for the announcement is very annoying and hard to hear. Not to mention what the mod does, you pretty much can find independent mods that just insert them into the base game without changing the gameplay loop as much as that mod does as a whole. Edit: not to mention it probably conflict with the custom loot Max has not just for himself but also his friends and JP likes his Appy.

I like how the shark had weapons protruding out of it, like others tried to kill it but died.

to Doug's question: I had a Betta fish, called Bob, he was great, he followed me around his tank (a 2 gallon tank with all the amenities for a Betta) and he was a badass, he terrorized my cat on day 2. my cat approached his tank, Bob recognized the cat as a potential threat, he extended his gills and started swimming aggressively towards the cat. my cat fled and never approached the tank again, it was hilarious. he had gone through 2 life threatening conditions and survived, living up to almost 3 years. one day, he stopped eating and became more and more sluggish, until I found him en route for his next journey. I properly gave him the water burial he deserved, I brought him to a local river, a nice and calm place. after a moment of introspection and a few kind words and goodbyes, I released his body to the water. I still miss you, Bob.

0:59 I did own fish in the past but after leaving a couple days and coming back to a dead fish with it's dead eyes staring into my soul I don't think I could ever have fish again.

In this episode Max seriously underestimates his team mates ability to intentionally cause chaos. Also to answer Doug's question, I had fish when I was a kid, a tank full of goldfish and neon tetras. Though my classroom for two years had an axolotl and a shed filled with various tanks containing native tropical fish (these included a wobbegong (small shark), a pufferfish and a male seahorse that became a father).

You mean with the word's thing; I don't know if that was exclusively his teammates causing that level of chaos, though I do question some of the words picked because they're such common ones used in this group not to mention two (technically three) are literally names of two players, how can a team communicate with each other when saying JP or Ross causes bad things to spawn, it's just going to result in them having to come up with work arounds that might not lead to good interactions (plus in the case of JP, just bring on the wrath of the fans that feel the need to defend him)

But there's also the fact that they were all excited to figure out what words were, regardless of the consequences, and even after the word mod was removed, they still caused so much chaos.

The irony of Max, Jp and Siri talking about mooses killing more people than sharks, only for a giant floating shark appearing and killing people. Makes me wish for a murderous moose mod.

Dear Dough, I never have owned a fish sadly (Sorry that im 3 days late we are on vacation in Gran Canaria [in Spain for those who dont know] its beautiful here and we go every evening/night to the beach to enjoy the silence and watching the stars and moon shine, its amazing here. Final Fantasy items adds a black mage staff that shoots fire balls and you can recharge it at the charge port inside the ship. Among other really cool fantasy items from the game.

Doug, to answer your question, yes I have 2 beta fish when i was younger that lived for 5 years surprisingly, and then 2 goldfish that i got from a fair. I don't remember which one did this, but it committed and jumped out of the tank into the sink

Did you guys know the way that mantis shrimp catch their pray is that they pinch their claws so fast it produces little bubble bullets that they shoot at their prey causing them to be stunned/ knocked out! So they’re basically these colorful shrimp with guns :D

i am sure it's already mentioned but mantis shrimp can punch hard enough to shatter the shell or plexiglass, creating super heat with the implosion, either causing insta-stun, or insta-kill. Insta-kill most likely.

To anyone wanting to know what mod adds the Mantis Shrimp, Sea Urchins, Shark, etc, it's from a mod called Surfaced! ^^

Mantis shrimp are cool cause when threatened they punch at like super sonic speeds that are so fast they shoot like a bullet of water at enemies and boil the water in and around the ray with heats similar to the sun. So you dont explode, they just punch you so fast you....explode i guess actually. They also look really colourful and pretty too though. :D I think its cause they live near the volcano-like ocean vents? Give the little guy some lava he must be so cold D:

I see Mithzan square up against a mantis shrimp (which isn’t actually a shrimp) and you know it’s going to end badly. A fun fact, mantis shrimps punch so hard and fast that they turn water into superheated plasma that is hotter than the sun, which then detonates, creating a powerful shockwave. So not only do you get punched extremely fast, you then get exploded by a plasma bubble

To be clear, it is mainly the shockwave that is used to kill and stun, but still, getting exploded sounds funnier
