Everytime u talk about the sensory problem i feel so relieved im not the only one. I cant touch sand, flour, some fabrics, clay that drys on my hand and cotton balls, it makes me feel so bad and i always thought it was just me till i found your channel a few months ago. I love your videos aswell! ❤

Those things are sooo weirdly satisfying. I used to work at an alternative store that sold them as an impulse buy. It was crazy how people would levitate toward them and poke the hell out of them. Thanks for posting and allow me to relive/ live vicariously. I still feel the smoosh and my brain is pleased. Lol

The original noodlies last quite a while. A friend of mine is a therapist and she loves the noodlies so much.

  • @Just1Nora
    @Just1Nora2 жыл бұрын

Creamy is my "moist"...ugh. There's probably starch or something similar on the ramen noodlies to keep them from sticking to each other. If they are silicone then lotion made with petrolatum or mineral oil may cause them to break down faster. You could moisten your hands or wipe them on a damp paper towel to remove some of the powder residue. I can't stand to have my hands really dry either. That "can't breathe" feeling is a sharp spike in anxiety. Even on my meds I get the feeling when my hands get really dry or my lips get chapped. A few deep breaths helps, but until I moisturize the feeling doesn't completely go away.

@@NexJen Haha, it's ok. I can handle it. I've gotten much better with dealing with my triggers. It takes a lot of work though! I have fibromyalgia which is a pain/nerve hypersensitivity disorder, but recently I've been wondering if I have inattentive type ADHD as well. I'm going to ask my psychiatrist about it. People with fibromyalgia often have difficulty with textures when touching things and eating things though. At least all the ones I've talked to do, myself included.

These colours make me so happy! I wish they made ones filled with water beads rather than cream, I have a collection of stress balls filled with orbeez (or similar) because I love the feeling of them, I'd LOVE neon ones! This is perfect timing, I was looking at these but other reviews felt more like advertising, thank you for doing a thorough review. Also I tend to wash all of these type of fidget toys, idk about the science of if they will degrade faster but I hate the powdery stuff they are coated with. Then I keep them in sandwich bags in my sensory box to prevent them from getting stuck to each other.

I think the teenie ones feel thicker because they're the same outer skin as the regular needoh, just not stretched by filling. So they remain small and thick. I've seen these in one store at the mall in the past and thought they'd be cool, just wasn't willing to pay whatever the cost was at the time. You may be able to use silicone caulk (like for showers) to seal any holes, but that's an expensive solution if you don't already have some at home. Especially unfortunate since needoh is not a cheap product..

I actually just saw NeeDoh starting to show up in shops here (UK is so slow in getting anything) so I was excited (but too broke at the time to get anything). This is maybe a kinda strange question but with the noodlies and ramen ones do they make a squeaking rubber on rubber type sound and feel squeaky? I recently got something similar off Amazon and they do that and while stretching them is fun they squeak against each other and against my hands and it grosses me out. Has that polystyrene-on-polystyrene effect which makes me want to gag. Also get the whole thing where your hands feeling wrong causes you to fee like you can't breathe, I get the same thing except for me it's when my hands feel too warm so I'm going to feel better once the weather is finally cold again!

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that. Honestly I haven't had any issues with any of the ones I've had before. Funny enough the only issues I've had with the NeeDoh products were actually the issues from this video.

These are so cute!! Do they let ppl take tests with fidget items these days? :o I remember back in the day we wouldn't be allowed to have anything but a pencil. I would hope things progressed at least

the box looks very late-60s early-70s ish, I love it. Very retro. Edit for end of video comments: I think the dry texture would be lovely, I really like stuff like sand, my issue is with things that are damp and sticky. I can't stand touching lotion or anything like that. Showers are anxiety-inducing due to shampoo and stuff. I'm in my 30s, and this has been a thing for most of my life. I wear those blue nitrile gloves when I'm handling raw meat because of the texture.

Oh wow so we're like complete opposites that's so interesting. Don't you just love learning about other people I don't know why it's just so fascinating to me. Also just recognizing that somebody could be so similar to you in a sense that they have sensitivities to different textures or feelings, even if it is the complete opposite. Thank you for sharing.

@@NexJen Yup! Its wild how you can have sensory things that are similar and yet still opposites. The human mind/sensory system is just so fascinating. I used to go to occupational therapy for nerve damage in my hands, and one of the things they used was a machine full of basically sand, and you put your hands inside and they turn on a hot air flow and it turns the sand sort of liquid? and it was honestly my favourite thing because it was liquid but also dry and sandy. It would probably make you very uncomfortable, but it really helped my hands.

This may be a redundant suggestion, but have you ever tried shampoo bars? I find that the lush ones specifically don't leave my hands slimy and it's easier to rinse than liquid shampoo

And if you keep them in a place they can dry out, they last so much longer

@@clementine6890 I haven't, but just the using of them would feel slippery and slimy, so it would still crank my squick meter up. Also Lush is REALLY expensive, I'm disabled and on a very tight budget.

Do you know if these are made with Latex? I am interested in this product but am highly allergic and worry about touching stress balls and fidget toys because it makes my skin blister and split.

Jen, as you have comments off on BTB channel, I realise you are reloading your old content back on. Is there a way you could mark the content with a small symbol to indicate its older content. I am constantly clicking on, watching 2 seconds and turning off once I realise I have seen it, which probably doesn't help your YT analytics! Thanks.

I'm asd and I believe that you have said many moons ago that you've done special needs education specifically?? I would love the Ramen Noodlies or the fruits, personally I think, because of the textures and the levels of squish.

Do u think maybe the reason the noodlies r on that strip is so u can cut them off if u choose so theyll be loose and more like noodles. Like u thought they were going to be to begin with?
