@Unwoke649 they're awesome. Different personalities types, but they are both kind people. If they aren't your cup of tea, that's cool, but there no need to say they suck. Also, Jenn is Holden's wife. I don't think he'd be appreciative of a random person on the internet trying to be negative and saying his wife and best friend sucks but bless your heart. All the best.

Spade was also exhausted shooting this. They were literally flying back and forth from Toronto to NYC every few days because they were still doing SNL… that’s a crazy schedule.
“Housekeeping. Want me to fluff pillow?” Freaking hilarious every time.
If you haven't seen any Chris Farley movies then Beverly hills ninja is a must. Fun fact Chris Farley was supposed to be Shrek and most of his lines were recorded before he passed. You can still find some of his recorded lines online.

I couldn't agree more, if they loved Tommy, they have GOT to watch 'Black Sheep' (the 1996 one btw, NOT the horror one from 10 years later about ACTUAL sheep, lmao). I think it's my favorite too, as much as I love 'Tommy Boy'.. There's just so many funny quotable lines in it me & my friends used to know & quote by heart. Especially the state trooper scene in the cop car..😂 "Ro-ads.. Ro-ods.." "Quiet back there!" 😂😂
I love the editor putting Matt's silly laugh face across the screen. Like it's his "this is stupid and I've seen this movie/joke so many times but it still makes me laugh" and it's hella relatable
Hitting Holden with the “who’s to say” is both peak comedy and justice lol
Tommy Boy is referenced in the movie "50 First Dates". Dan Akroyd's character is a memory specialist at a place called the Callahan Institute which gets its funding from an auto-parts manufacturer based in Sandusky, OH.
I love when Jen gets to use the "Who's to say?" line. :)
"Did you eat a lot of paint chips when you were kid" I remember when Bumblebee used that line in Transformers 3, lol.
The girl at the pool was former Victoria's Secret model Lorri Bagley, whom Chris Farley dated around that time.
Black Sheep 100% put on the list. It's not as great as Tommy Boy but it has some amazing moments from Chris that is completely worth the trip.
Matthew Perry and Chris Farley teamed up for a comedy duo movie called Almost Heroes. It's such a funny goofy movie that you MUST watch! It was his last starring role. (as a main character)

Chris Farley was a national treasure of comedy! Tommy boy is my favorite of his! My Dad introduced me to this movie as a kid after he passed away and I instantly fell in love with his movies. Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, Almost Heroes, and Beverly Hills Ninja! All so hilarious. I miss him so much.

No, he had moments when he was funny… that was it. Tommy Boy was his only successful movie, he went way downhill after that. His one shtick of being the “overweight buffoon” was only funny for so long… poor guy
Never knew Black Sheep wasn't well recieved, everyone I knew growing up loved it, as well as me. Farley and Spade have the same chemistry in it, and it's just as funny IMO. Worth the watch on here.
This is a family favorite…we quote so many lines from this film! 😂 If you haven’t seen Son in Law with Pauly Shore it’s another funny and quotable 90’s movie.
Black sheep is very underrated, I saw it one time on tv and saw David spade and Chris Farley were in it which made me want to keep watching
The two close-ups on the deer's face as it 1st goes, "Huh?" & lpoks up right before they hit it & then, later in the car when it screams, too, cracks me up EVERY SINGLE TIME I see it.. Lmao! I guess bc you never see deers scream IRL, just in 'Tommy Boy'.. lol. 😂😂😂🦌 Ok, the shot of the hoof beeping the horn repeatedly a few seconds later also gets me..🤣🤣 They hiumanize the hell outta this poor deer.. Lmao! 😂🤷🏻♂️
Tommy Boy, Black Sheep, and Beverly Hills Ninja are all must-see Chris Farley movies!
I'm so glad that you 3 watched this movie. I'm with Matt on this. This movie is absolutely timeless and it is so rewatchable. I always come back to this movie to refresh my memory of it or whenever I'm having a rainy day. I love this movie so much, that anytime some has a small accident I always respond with "What'd you do?" With the same inflection as Chris farly.
I am so happy ya'll watched this one. It's by far one of the movies I quote the most and is one of my favorite, if not my favorite comedy of all-time! I can't get on an airplane anymore without thinking of this movie 🤣🤣🤣
Careful watching this you might end up living in a van down by the river 😂
You didnt show it here, but at the funeral when all that remain at the burial is Tommy with Richard behind him is very touching

Thank you guys for leaving the Davenport, IA nod! I'm from the Quad Cities and when me and my friend watched this as kids, you'd think we were getting the Olympics the way we freaked out when they mentioned our hometown!
Don’t know if y’all have seen this one, but it came out in 1991. It’s called What About Bob. It’s a comedy that stars Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss. My family and I always loved that one.
one of my favorites. watched it in history class during high school, and i thought it was just a perfect cast with a very funny tone.

I love seeing more of Matt in these videos! Missed his presence! Looking forward to everyone watching more comedies together! And to be honest, I don’t care if everyone has seen them before, I just enjoy watching you three watch movies together
Oh this is my favorite era of comedies!! Hope we see a bunch of these with these type of films that Holden hasnt seen!
I am crying laughing with you guys. Tommy Boy has always been a top 5 comedy for me. Experiencing this with you guys was an absolute joy.
I absolutely love this movie. My dad and I quote it all the time. Glad you are watching it.
As someone who's legal name is Christopher Farley, this reaction brings me joy.
did you guys recognize the actor playing Tommy's dad? I did, he's Brian Dennehy from the movie "First Blood". he played Hope Sherrif Will Teasle the main antagonist of the movie
God rest Chris Farley the dude was a master of his craft and it’s a shame at how little movies he was in. Adam Sandler’s song he made in honor of him when he returned to host SNL a few years ago just brings me to tears
Need to watch Black Sheep now. Chris and David are great in it also.
OMG... Jen flipping it on Holden at 11:34 " who's to say" As he always says to her. ^5 Jen
4:36 “Sonnova!” Haha, I still use that, almost daily 😂
Chris Farley and John Candy were huge parts of my childhood when it came to comedy films. Both actors were tremendously talented and had such larger than life personalities to them. They were so good at delivering the gut-splitting comedic moments along with giving us the heart-wrenching emotional scenes when the films called for it. I miss them both to this day.
“They’re called doctors.” “Brothers gotta hug!” So many great lines in this movie 😂
Ive commented here before being critical of Matt's movie opinions, he's even responded to me a few times. Just wanted to say Matt, on Tommy Biy and Chris Farley in general, we are fully aligned sir, this one warms my soul and I deeply love it. Goes to show you can always find something to agree on haha
YES!! Jenn FTW. I actually celebrated when you hit Holden with the, "Whose to say". F'ing eh, gurl!
I love it when Dan Aykroyd appears in this movie. One of my favorite films of his Is The blues brothers from 1980.
Black Sheep and Tommy Boy i always got mixed up as a kid cause, as Matt said, they tried to capture the exact same feel. And i still really enjoy both but i can see why Black Sheep didnt do as good even though it’s still very entertaining
One of my favorites, glad you guys are checking that film out!
Fun fact: Bo Derek's ex husband made her cut her hair short for this movie because he thought she looked too good and didn't want people trying to hit on her or flirt with her. Boy did he fail. She is still gorgeous.
Perfect introduction to Chris Farley. This is THE Chris Farley movie 😂 Excited to see your reaction! 😁
18:50 This scene is the reason I learned all the words to “It’s the End of the World As We Know It” by R.E.M.. 😂
Tommy boy.. love this movie.. can't believe Holden has not seen this before.. Tommy boy is one of those 90s classic comedy. His skits on SNL were amazing.. Farley was so amazing as a comic
First, I have to say that this is my favorite reaction by Matt. I 100% agree with you, Chris was a comedic legend. He burned out instead of fading away. They definitely had an Abbott and Costello or Laurel and Hardy vibe. Even Martin and Lewis. The great comedy duos always had that funny and straight dynamic. This is one of my favorites as well. If you love John Candy as much as I did, and I feel the same way about the loss of John Candy as I do. Chris Farley, you have to check out only the lonely. I imagine it is one you haven't seen, because it did not have success in the box office. But it was by far John Candy's best role. He got to play the romantic lead, and it has Maureen O'Hara, Ally sheedy and James Belushi. I don't know how it isn't more known, but I know all three of you would love it. Based upon your love of Tommy boy. It is a different kind of humor, but it is John Candy's. Best work. Uncle Buck being second.
It’s not about the simple premise that makes these movies so great. It’s the actors and writing. The comedic actors from this era and again in the early 2000’s (old school) are unmatched by what passes for comedy today. These movies didn’t rely on special effects and huge budgets. You could put Chris Farley or John Candy in anything and it would do well.
I used a lot of drops from this movie in my radio sweepers.
@16:32, the director, Peter segal would reuse that joke for get smart. Tommy Callahan is referenced in another Peter segal movie, 50 first dates. It always bugged me that bo Welch (the female con artist) doesn't get arrested as an accessory to rob Lowe's crimes
Chris Farley followed this up with Black Sheep, which reunites him with David Spade. Both of them have a supporting role in Cone Heads, which stars Dan Akroyd. The actor playing Tommy's dad played the sheriff in First Blood
This is absolutely one of my all time favorites. So quotable!
Holden, you gotta show Matt Starship Troopers!

Love this Matt and Jenn team up 🤝
This movie is just the best!! I was still laughing as hard to this reaction as I would watching it myself
When you watch Adam Sandler’s 50 First Dates Dan Ackroyd refers to this movie. It’s sad that Farley passed away so young. He and David Spade were such a great team. They were funny in “Black Sheep” also. 6:08 you need to pause that scene and read the names on there. One says “Helen Keller F” and there were other famous people on there. 6:32 they were going to bring a stunt double in for the table fall but Chris was adamant that he could do it. 7:01 yeah there was a night that Chris wasn’t feeling well and David went out with Rob Lowe to get drinks. When Chris found out he was jealous and would constantly say “how’s Rob Lowe” to David. They got into a physical altercation on set and filming had to stop until they cooled down. 7:42 he was sober but he developed a coffee addiction. He would have about 27 cups of cappuccino and sometimes he’d do three before a scene which would explain his high energy. 15:13 it took five weeks to get that deer to stand on the car. They gave a trainer a car and had them work with the deer using food. 15:30 “fat guy in a little coat was a gag they’d do in their SNL office when they were bored. It wasn’t a song at first until the director heard Chris singing it when he was bored so he said let’s shoot it that way. 17:42 Chris Farley dated her during filming. That also caused a little tension between the two. 18:42 this was another gag that David Spade did to Chris Farley in the hotels they stayed in and Chris fell for it every time. 18:50 Chris did a couple takes naked but his sausage kept popping out and one take he turned to the camera and said “Do you like that Ms. Lansing?” Referring to the head of Paramount at the time. 29:14 Rob Lowe wanted his role “uncredited” to make it a surprise when people saw him.
Hey Holden love your Channel I was thinking about starting one. I was wondering how u had the scenes to your reaction I’m very confused on that part
Matt is getting BIG!
One of my favorites. I would laugh hard when watching it in portuguese in Brazil, and then when I moved to the US and watched it in english I loved it way more. 9/10 for 90's comedies.
21:56 I remember seeing this as a kid and wondering if David Spade was really bald 😂
Farley’s goal in life was to be just like John Belushi. And he got his wish. Chris lived and died like him. Beverly hills ninja and almost heros are his last films and some of my fav watches. Great goofy/silly movies.
Classic movie!!! And I'm still here for Mrs. Hardman
I agree with Matt! Black sheep was great, it’d be awesome to see a reaction on it. That and Beverly Hills ninja.
There were multiple versions of I am your father, and the original was "No Luke, I am your father" but like everything else, Star Wars refused to acknowledge it
Awesome! 🎃
13:24-17:40-21:18 are the biggest laughs!
10:18 Amazing Grace by The Pipes and Drums and Military Band of the Royal Scots Dragon Guards was always my favorite part of the movie.
In the spirit of Matt's post-reaction thoughts, I think a necessary out-of-the-box follow-up reaction should be Adam Sandler's SNL tribute to Chris.
I love this movie so much had the double feature growing up and watched it nearly one a week
Love this movie keep it up you trios
Holden,Jen,Matt I don't know if y'all know this or have seen the storyboard clips but before Chris Farley passed he was going to play Shrek.
The funeral transition is probably the greatest in film history. People have mentioned it previously, but there is an easter egg to this movie in 50 First Dates. Joe Dirt, next?
Black sheep catching strays lol. It's great but anything coming after Tommy Boy is going to be tough. Love y'all !
Fun fact originally the part of Shrek was supposed be Chris Farley
The story Jen is talking about was Rob Lowe wanted to hang out with Spade and Farley during filming and Farley was tired and went to his trailer to sleep. Spade and Lowe went and hung out together and the next day Farley heard about it and asked Spade "had fun with Rob Lowe". They got into a physical fight and basically didn't talk to each other other then reading their lines during filming.
You guys have GOT to watch 'Black Sheep' (1996) now.. It's like this film's brother.. An unofficial sequel thats not a sequel, lol... If all ya'll love Chris & David as Tommy Callahan, Jr. & Richard Hayden, then you are gonna equally love them as Mike Donnelly & Steve Dodds.. Watch it, you'll be glad ya'll did..❤✌🏻
Comedian John Belushi was Chris Farley's hero; Belushi also died at 33 from an overdose.
"Tommy likey, Tommy want wingy."
Saturdays ( Thursday) are for the boys!!
David said they had a falling out just before Chris's death. He said his biggest regret was not making up with him before he died.
I agree it didn't live up to Tommy Boy, but as a kid I still loved Black Sheep just as much. It's a fun watch.
this movie was a big part of my childhood. I would always watch this movie on my birthdays as a kid and my friends would always be so confused as to why we would watch this specific movie lol
Chris Farley was originally cast as the voice of Shrek.
when looking back at this movie it really makes me wonder how The Movie Joe Dirt could have been even better if Chris was still alive to be in it...i can just imagine Joe Dirt/David Spade coming across Chris's Character maybe "a guy who lives in a van down by the river" 🤣🤣
We're the millers wasn't too long ago. Let's go to prison is a must. It's so damn hilarious

I found out my wife had never seen this movie about 6 weeks ago, we remedied that about 4 weeks ago(she loved it).
Literally one of the greatest comedies ever. This film also shows Chris Farley could have been an Adam Sandler or a Jeff Daniels where he was amazing as a comedic genius & could have been a great dramatic actor. Top 20 all time film for me
Almost Heros with Farley and Mathew Perry was another really funny Farley movie.
Holden, let Matt rate it an 11 if he wants to! “10 is our highest”. Sheesh! Lol ❤️
Both Tommy Boy and Black Sheep are great but I wish more people would react to Beverly Hills Ninja because Haru is awesome
