Stagecoach Mary is an African American woman who was enslaved and after gaining freedom she became a mail carrier (I think she might’ve been the first black woman to have the kind of route she did). However, she was a mail carrier in what was considered the lawless Wild West. She is famously known to carry a pistol while protecting the mail from bandits, thieves, wolves etc. She was also fighting the unforgiving weather while traversing through Montana. She’s a bit of an icon in the cowboy Western genre, edit: not much is confirmed about the beginning of her life(since she was enslaved) but she seemed to have lived from 1832-1914.

“Ghost towns” is the term used for abandoned towns. Mostly in the west. There are a lot of them in west Texas. There are also in California and Nevada, remnants of the golf rush. These references are to old westerns especially the spaghetti westerns.

Angie, your story about learning Italian and being in Italy is so appropriate for this pallet! A lot of old west movies were shot in Italy and nicknamed “Spaghetti Westerns.”

Yea, that explains nothing to people from other countries. When the US was in a population boom, especially across the midwestern part of the country, towns popped up everywhere. Related to the gold rush. Many of those towns did not survive in the long run and became empty ghost towns were the buildings are still standing but there are no people living there.

I NEED this - they may be cooler tones, but they’re still neutrals and not the pinks and blues that have been everywhere lately. I normally wear warm tones but I could wear all of these shades! ❤

This palette feels a lot like Oden's Eye Christmas Eve palette. So interesting how this type of color story works for both spooky and wintery!

I was thinking of a combo of the 2 newest Oden’s Eye, the rock and gem duo.

This is the kind of color I want in my palettes. Gorgeous, muted, but pops and it seems all of these shades will work beautifully with each other. 😍

I always considered grungy or earthy greens neutrals and like grungy pinks and berries neutral. Even brownish or more muted oranges.

That second look is 🔥. I mean I loved the first look too but dang, now I really want this palette. I have been wanting to add some not-so-basic blues to my collection.

I already wanted the palette once they revealed the color story, but your two looks made this a MUST. Also, you mentioning how the one shadow looked like pistachio gelato made me wish Nomad would do a gelateria palette! Imagine each shade looking like a specific gelato flavor!

Dead Man’s Hand refers to a set of card (2Aces & 2 8’s). This was the hand of cards that wild Bill had when he was shot during a game of five card stud. He was an infamous outlaw in the 1800s.

I have a sister in law who learned Portuguese for her in-laws, and another SIL who learned Spanish for her husband’s family. It changes so much when you can communicate with your in-laws! Good for you, and thanks for another beautiful palette video.

I adore this colour story. Because I am ghost white with neutral undertone these kind of shades look vibrant and colourful on me! They suit me better than any bright colours. Loves both looks, but my heart beats faster for that green look💚

It's not referring to a specfic place but ghost towns in general. Ghost towns are abandoned mining towns. CA and Nevada have a lot of ghost towns remaining from the gold and silver rushes. Calico is a ghost town once owned by Knott's and now a tourist spot. I love exploring ghost towns. I really want to see Virginia City. It's supposed to be one of the most haunted places in the world.

I picked up this palette as soon as it was available - I just absolutely love Nomad's whole travel / destination theming, and this one especially is so well thought-out. It makes using the palette just a bit more fun! And the packaging is always on point, as well.

Thanks Angelica. Great looks. The palette is based on Ghost Towns of the Wild West in the USA. A Ghost Town is usually a mining town that once flourished in the gold rush days, but eventually failed and decayed. Sometimes, people claim they are haunted. So these are Characters that are famous during those days, or towns that were once flourishing, but now are deserted. Hope that helps.🥰

Those two Aces and Eights derive from a game involving famed lawman “Wild Bill” Hickok. He was shot dead at a poker table more than a century ago holding that hand. Since then the hand has been branded “Dead Man's Hand”. This is a color story that I want. I love the grungy neutrals meets color vibe. I’m so happy that the color story matches the packaging so well.

I really think this is a neutral palette with just enough colour to play with. The blues and greens are shadowy and cool but can be brightened with the shimmering shades or by building within the same colour family. Your blue on blue snd green on green looks were very colour forward. You could quiet these with the earthier tones and end up with a very natural look. I am very, very interested in this palette. Thanks for showing it’s versatility.

You joyfully not understanding the references is how I feel with many Oden's Eye references until you explain them! The west and western icona like the references in this palette are so baked into the American experience it is so interesting to see you experience them for the first time!

Ghost Town is the only destination I've actually been to in the nomad series 😁 I don't think this color story is for me however I didn't see the blues with the purple shimmer pairing as beautifully as they did on your eyes 🤩 love that look!

Ahhh see, AGAIN you did more fantastic eyeshadow looks. Wow! I don’t know how you choose you color stories. You must have an eye or a special talent for that, because I would never think of putting a purple shimmer on top of a smoky blue eyeshadow look. That’s so good! That blue shade in the crease was an amazing color. It was such a unique blue. You’re making me want this palette 😩😆 But unfortunately I just do not look good in greens. you showed off the colors of this palette beautifully! i was so excited for the theming and packaging but honestly became hesitant when i saw the color story, your video though helped me see how pretty it is!

This is for sure a gorgeous palette I think it’s in the running for my top 5 palettes for this yr because it has that grunge factor to it , ND Yucca palette is so far in the running for the top because of those absolutely yummy grungy tones and tbch it reminds me of your palette Hella palette same with Odens Eye Stoned Rock palette. I seriously 100% believe they took inspiration from the Hella palette when they we’re choosing the colour story for Stoned Rock , your Hella palette has me hella scared because I’ve hit pan on every single shade and I can’t replace it you created such unique multi chromes and ohhhhhhhh that black is fluffing incredible it’s so easy to use . Black along with blues are extremely hard shades for me to blend out nicely but the one created still works great in the creating that little bit of extra depth even though the shimmer in it is quite strong but that what makes it so easy to use IMO , other blues and blacks I have in my collection also have shimmer in them but I can not blend them to save myself yours feels very creamy and it’s that creaminess that makes it so user friendly even for beginners. I know all of us Angie stans are patiently waiting for your next Collab . I hope ev1 has a great week and remember don’t save certain makeup for special occasions because everyday is a special day we are not promised tomorrow so live your best authentic life it’s the only one you get .

When you added that dark blue on the outer corner and through the crease, it looked like a visual of the beginning of a spooky story. "It was a dark, stormy night . . ." Maybe that's just the writer in me, but I literally heard that in my head after you added the dark blue.
