Even though G.I. Joe, Marvel legends and Star wars are touted as 1/12 and stands around 6.25 inches, they never fit any of the car model kits that are also marketed as 1/12 like Maisto or Tamiya and etc.... Often I would have to look at 1/10 scaled vehicles. It's also maddening that even model kit companies don't necessarily conform to their competitors idea of 1/12 or other scales. What I've learned to accept is that we can't look to other companies to fill in vehicles for a 1/12 joe, It's almost as if Hasbro deliberately off-set their figures so that Hasbro is the only one we can turn to, to get properly sized equipment. Unless, 3rd party companies like Ramen Toys would specifically design a vehicle that can properly seat these figures.

Absolutely on all points you mentioned. They should not use scale as a tool for proprietary designs, scale is math and universal. I would think that they would gravitate towards scale as a tool in an effort to merge toy lines, it increases playability in my opinion. But alas most don't.

Very cool video. Rc scale is rarely true to scale. I think that WPL as well as MN models have RCs in the proper scale for G.I. joe drivers. If you want, I have a few I could measure the cabs for you. There are a lot of military vehicles available. Here is a short clip of the smaller scale 1/16 military RCs.

The engineer designed their prototype to scale and then the accountants and lawyers do their work to completely eliminate accuracy in scale through budgets or safety concerns. Then after that the factory in China or elsewhere further changes the design and scale to make the factory as much money as possible…….also stealing designs and then making knock offs in even more cartoon designs. So it’s really a miracle that any 1-18 scale action figures can fit in the same toy line vehicles. The reason in the 1970s that Star Wars worked so well between figures and vehicles was because George Lucas micromanaged everything every millimeter along the way.
