The shield on Cap is the best they've done to date. It is the right size, curvature and colours. Its the effect attachments that let it down namely for those holes. Also, I really wish they find a better way for the figures to hold the shield. The clip/peg fitting makes it protrude far too much from his arm/back.

The worst thing about the Bucky-Cap mold was the tiny feet. They used that mold on Quasar and they redid the feet. I thought that was a really good improvement, should have been done ages ago.

Agreed. The feet were the only thing that bothered me too. The Archangel v2 is the only one I have where he had new feet. Were there others?

Personally, my favorite thing about pinless tech is (like you said) that the joints are made out of ABS and they’re a lot sturdier then pinned joints. Aesthetically, pins don’t bother me.

i think it depends on the reuse. if they reused RYV spider-man 20 times for the various spider-men costumes it probably wouldn’t bother me as long as it was appropriate for the character. i think it’s more about the mold itself. we want well proportioned pinless fully articulated bodies. Bucky Cap isn’t any of those. but if the mold is good i wouldn’t mind if it’s re used a lot. i’m hoping they use vulcan for waaaaay more characters

I have always imagined that Duke would be the perfect character to be a Super Soldier. I love the idea of a G.I.Joe/ Marvel cross over line. Captain America and S.H.I.E.L.D. perfectly compliment G.I.Joe. Hydra and the Serpent Society would blend very well with Cobra. The figures would be amazing!🔥

9:52 Bucky-Cap needs a break. Especially if they keep putting the shoulders on backwards. Like how those Agents' shoulder muscles are reversed when compared to the old Fury figures' shoulders. Let's look at the Hyperion torso. Rage in 2020 was the last time it was used and I haven't heard anyone say they want a figure with that torso. They should use the Sunfire mold for army builders. And bring back the Superior Octopus body; Sunfire with diaphragm articulation. But I don't think they'll ever retire Bucky-Cap because I remember Bobby Vala said that Hasbro made multiple copies of the mold. 16:02 I had similar issues with a WWE Elite forearm and ML IW Black Widow knee. The socket was a very small oval and the pin wouldn't fit. After heating the part, I stuck a small pole with a pointed tip into the pin hole and rotated it, stretching the plastic and expanding the hole. When I felt the hole was large enough, I put it back in place and was able to push the pin through.

Cap was absolutely number one for me too. The unmasked head sculpt is the exact minds eye I have of Steve Rogers from the 70’s and 80’s.

Love the unedited style of the video. Enjoy just hearing you speak freely without time constraint. Always enjoy your content. Put up anything ML related and I will watch it! My only issue with the 20th Cap is that the eye openings are so small. If they are bigger like the Toybiz version or the 80th year it would have been perfect. I don't mind bucky cap as long as it is completely sup up like Shield Agents with pouches, harness, holster etc. Plain bucky cap like Dr. Spectrum makes me want to vomit. Disgusting!

I specifically advocate for pinless because of the gummy warping of the joints. Thank you for bringing that up as I think it should be mentioned a lot more.

Thank you... I think the ML 20th Hulk is phenomenal as well. Growing up on Sal Buscema Hulk pencils really helps me to enjoy this re-do. That said, they REALLY did improve the overall paint-apps. While it's not the classic "gamma green", it's not overly dark at all, and overall his colors as well as the highlighted definition with the lighter shades really works. Not to mention the pants, which are definitely the best Hulk pants out of all the figures based off this figure.

While I still like Bucky-Cap. I also like the Vulcan body. It’s not really an issue for me. Either one is fine by me. While Vulcan has some pros, he does have some cons; the knees and elbows can’t be separated for customizing. And often I customize not because I want to make a new figure, but rather I need to “fix” the existing character. I’ll miss having that safety net.

While I would like to see them phase out the Bucky-Cap mold going forward, I usually don’t typically mind it if it works in terms of the characters proportions. For example, while another body would have been nice, I feel like it works for Orb. Personally I feel like the Legends Team shot themselves in the foot when it came to talking about phasing out that body, especially considering the fact that they can only use a specific amount of bodies at a time.

This year I'm only curious for sculpts, no more repaints, for the price, now I want quality. I don't mind the "bucky cap" if it's appropriate for the character. But get rid of that buck, it's done no more. ✌🤓👍

Personally, the only time I absolutely need pin less joints are for characters with exposed skin. But overall, yeah pin less should be the future of marvel legends.

Just my 2 cents, A reuse is acceptable if: 1. It is of the same character, for example a Spidey body is being reused to create another version of Spidey 2. The reuse body will improve a characters appearance or articulation, example using a Spidey body for another character to improve articulation from its previous version 3. Figures with mostly reused parts SHOULD NOT be sold at a ridiculous price!

Sir! Absolutely not! Don't even put it out there about getting Lenny on the Legends team!!?! He is RIGHT where he belongs, and EXACTLY where I want him, churning out the most amazing figs I've ever seen. LMAO! Seriously though, nice idea for a video. Since I'm late to collecting, I welcome repaints for the most part because it's a chance for me to get the ones I missed. But getting updated versions like the 20th Cap or the RYV Spider-Man as my first version of those characters has been really awesome. So I salute those of you that had to endure the less than superior previous versions to get us here. I don't mind the Bucky Cap on the troop builders ... IF it can keep the cost down at that troop builder range that they use.

I think butterfly joints r a must for every figure pinless looks good but it's not a deal breaker without it

Jolly good review. Id rather see pins all day on Black Spidey compared to Rhino who has those big ball sockets for hips and completely breaks up the sculpt from the waist down.

I love the pinvisible joints....Mafex, Valaverse, and other companies that give us that nice clean looking articulation always feel "premium" but really pins aren't a deal breaker unless they interfere with the design the way they do on spiderman figures......big ugly red pin right in the middle of my beautiful blue costume.......don't get me wrong......if that symbiote black suit spidey was on the RYV buck........that would have been my favorite spidey of all time but I still love the one I got

Nice choices. I love side by side comparisons, but I am happy with the ones you showed. I do get a bit of buyer's remorse when I see new versions of characters with better features; Beast, Doctor Doom. The only thing that makes up for it is knowing I paid less to get them.

Yeah it’s part of the territory so I’m used to always knowing that an update is around the corner.

I'd be happy if they only used the Bucky Cap mould for army builders but only if the price of the figure was less to reflect the older mould as they definitely have got there monies worth out of that mould but realistically I can't see that happening

I feel you on that. I’m so over it. It was fine the first few years but it’s been obsolete for awhile.

Bucky mole is old. Retire the mold. pinless it’s such an upgrade. Worth my hard earned cash

I honestly have no issue with Bucky Capt. If it's for army builders, sure. I honestly prefer it for Daredevil. Compared to some of the garbage bodies we've gotten in the iterim, Bucky Capt actually has a superhero comic bodybuilder sculpt. My bigger issue is when it's used where it clearly shouldn't be. But after a decade, sure it should be winding down, it had a good run. Even if it's looks okay next to Vulcan as a slightly smaller normal body. I dont care about pinless. Especially if it's used as an excuse for why there's not more budge foe accessories, paint, or unique parts.

Honestly since they implemented the “pinless” jonts i’ve got more QC issues with articulations then before…loose knees , worped joints, stuck elbowes etc… and usualy the pinless joints are not fixable…so i got stuck with a bad buch of figures…yeeeey Hasbro!!!!

i would say they use the bucky-cap mold to simply drain it out with army builders and stop using it on wave and single carded figures…the mold isn’t even up to date so there are no other use but to army build in my opinion so just drain it with army builders until those things are exinct

Fantastic xmanny. Thanks for your effort on this one. Bucky-Cap has to go. It had its run, and now it is time to update some of those older products with newer technology. The issue that drives me nuts is why is Hasbro ML charging full price for those products made with it. Some collectors might not appreciate the wasted spot on the Brand's list, but those just starting out, or those who missed the first time around can take advantage of the redo. But just don't charge full pop for it.

@@Xmanny87 between you and I, I thought the original concept of a Retro card would be for a redo, a refresh, a re-paint of an existing action figure. Hasbro could have used Retro to cover things like Bucky-cap redoes at a Retro-price point. Collectors who missed out on the OG can then get v2 of the product.

Pins don't bother me. Pinless is cool. But it doesn't make or break a figure for me

Animated Scorpian should have been on a bigger buck, that buck is fine for a classic scorpian not the animated series 1 he was bigger and bulkier then spiderman.

Brace yourselves. I don’t mind the Bucky-Cap mold. Even 11 years later. If they gave him bigger feet, I would have 0 problems. I started collecting Marvel Legends in mid 2016 when the quality raised enough to catch my attention. That might be why I’m still ok with it. Now that the ladies are shorter due to less high heels, Bucky-Cap doesn’t feel too short like I once thought. So yeah. I’m ok with him lingering around.

If you want a particular retail practice (Bucky Cap re-use) to stop then you need to stop paying for it, you're financially supporting it's re-use whilst bemoaning it at the same time, make your mind up and take a stand but quit bitching about it, it's sad man.
