A: Yes, there is. Flick, Nagelsmann, Alonso, Inzaghi, Lopategui, Spalletti, Zidane, Emery. There are tons of managers better than him. Some of them might say no but definitely not all of them. B: He got rid of the wrong players. He disrespected and outted club legends while keeping the dross. C: When you finish 8th, it really is. He spent half a billion. Top four is the bare minimum. A few luxky cup runs don't negate that. D: You will lose out on UCL money when he finishes outside the top 4 again, though. E: Yeah cos 450m and the ability to choose we sign and get rid of isn't proper backing 😂. He has had backing, it is naive and delusional to pretend otherwise F: Square One is better than three squares back, which is where Ten Hag has us. For a real list of reasons to get rid: A: Terrible recruitment B: Terrible tactics C: Terrible game management D: Terrible man management E: No charisma F: He finished eighth H: He can't keep people fit. His training causes injuries. I: He doesn't have a single redeeming quality as a manager. Seems pretty clear to me. If we keep him then god help us. He is in out of his depth and it is clear for all but our deluded fans. He is the worst manager since Fergie, including Moyes.

I think Ten Hag is at the forefront of a necessary culture change. His hardline with Ronaldo, and Sancho showed a tremendous amount of character and leadership that the badge comes first. I think the knocks on his recruitment are fair and hopefully Dan Ashworth fixes some of that, and his tactical stubbornness I think has a lot to do with injuries. Overhaul the squad first, keep Ten Hag, and if all those pieces coming together don't make an improvement then you move on.

I just don't see enough in what Ten Hag has done this season to say that he has the capacity to take the club forward. I just don't see it. A lot of the poor players are his players. This season, which should have been a kick on from the first season's successes, has been nothing short of a disaster. The first season should have been the disaster. We massively overperformed thanks to Rashford deciding he wanted to get paid. It was a lot like Ole's second full season; sure, we came high in the league, but there were clearly massive problems that needed sorting. And now we've wasted a season, and it looks for all the world like we're running into Ole's final season again; a summer of optimism, a couple of early successes, and then the wheels fall off and we're in a mess by November. I'm not happy, and I don't want to be Ten Hag Out. But if the alternatives are waste another season and let him run out his contract, or watch him get sacked in November and waste another season, then the time to pull the trigger on him is now.

The way he had them playing, his youth development skills, the freedom of expression he gives his players, his suave, his charisma, they’re all Man Utd characteristics. Some managers, and some players just fit certain clubs, and he fits Man Utd, I’ve always believed it. I never fancied him at PSG or Chelsea, because historically they’re authoritarian led clubs, suited to a Conte, a Jose, an Enrique, a Diego Simeone would be a textbook Chelsea manager, Poch however was never that hard line or rigid, he’s far more flamboyant is his style of play, gives his players much more freedom, that’s what Man Utd is all about.

Erik ten Hags management has been abysmal all season. The mitigating factors are no excuse for our weekly dire performances. He has thrown away this season for his ideological purity. That shows a manager who can’t adapt. Erik ten Hag has to share blame with the transfer policy (during his tenure) and the volume of injuries. His contract gives him say on transfers. We have heard all season we overtrain and then we get loads of non contact muscle injuries.

If people don’t want De Zerbi they’re just visiting this planet. Since 2013 the biggest thing we’ve missed on the field (mainly the organization is to blame) has been a distinct identity that meets the definition of modern football. ETH has been the closest we’ve had but it’s extremely hard to understand what we’ve been doing in training come match day. Injuries have been a nightmare but Dutch managers rarely succeed in England. For me, the structure we use to play from the back (when we try) is shocking, even at full strength. We need a coach that teaches players how to play confidently in their vision. RDZ is a phenomenal coach when it comes to a beautiful brand working with a much more limited squad player by player. I’m numb at this point to united, we’ll be an mba case study one day based on the horrendous downfall we’ve had. Would love RDZ to have 4 years to change how we play, then evaluate him on the brand not the league position. We need to stop looking at that.

I believe in a better future with Ten Hag, he’s done a great job of connecting the youth set up to the first team, I can see a brighter future if we allow him to have one with a structure in place. But, as always, it isn’t our choice. Ineos will pick a manager in their image

At the end of the day, after SAF Ten Hag has the highest win %, when you consider the massive injury issues, and the deadwood he inherited. He needs to be gauged against his own side. It was reported that when he was taken on by Woodward that he would be given time regardless of results as the club realised that they had to get off the manager merry go round of replacing a coach every 2 years! Last year he overachieved, this year under, however we have never had injuries like we've had! He needs a straight run, a decent off season, players back from injury, and getting the deadwood sold. Then buy based on value, no silly big named players, right now we need warriors not the icing on the cake. we need solid foundations. The FA cup final does not matter (Any final is a lottery, you can not base anything important on one match!) I'd love to win the cup, but my head is thinking we could do with losing, we need the mid weeks off so ETH gets time with his players. If he gets that time and relatively injury free season, we should end up top 4 at least. there would be no excuse.

You could make a good case to replace all back four starters apart from Martinez and obviously new defensive midfielder. Added to this every forward has to track / tackle back or F off. In so many positions they need to make decisions and get people out of the club - but they have to do it immediately after the season ends.

It's normal for new ownership to want their guy. Nothing personal or new. There's no reason any of the candidates we are linked with can't do just as good or better job than Ten Hag has done. Especially if they're going to be backed. So whoever comes in, it's fine. It's so much drama over something that at the end of the day....next season we will just have a coach. No reason to obsess over it. If the coach hits the metrics, keep them. If they don't, you sack them. In the modern system we are building the manager as some one man savior is fast departing.

And the cases that you mentioned, playing well and losing, or playing bad and winning are precisely why you’d want to wait. It’s a final, the stakes are higher and they can learn a lot about both players and management from the performance. Announcing the decision (either way) in the week following the final having considered all of it is probably the right call imho. Having to choose all the players with NO ONE to help with scouting is obviously why he mostly chose players he knows something about. The reason why wages were inflated for these players was due to Joel Glazer having final say on ALL players coming into the club. Injuries is a problem that needs to be addressed, and I believe the coaching is possibly partially to blame. But it’s one of a group of factors. 1. The match schedule 2. Added time referee directive 3. Coaching United like they are Ajax There are too many games. UEFA and FIFA want to create MORE games to rake in that TV money the Premier League have demonstrated is out there. Not to sound like a Klopp-apologist, but he’s partially right about how TV has too much influence on when matches take place. Anecdotally speaking, the top clubs in Europe have their federations bending over backwards to reduce this burden, whereas in England it’s the entire opposite. Real and Barcelona routinely have matches scheduled in the evenings, even on weekends. I imagine there is some good data out there on how consistent timing it’s important in maintaining optimum performance. When clubs are trying to manage their players even down to their sleep cycles, the erratic nature of match start times in England surely puts our clubs at s disadvantage compared to their European counterparts. Teams in England have more competitions to play than their near peers in Europe. The League Cup (as the FA Cup is pure history and therefore more important) needs to go in some shape to reduce the schedule. For the top teams it can be four or more additional matches a season, critically compressed into the schedule when European teams are resting in the winter. Solution? Premier League teams must field their Premier League 2 squads in those games. Problem solved. Added time this season. It amounts to an additional 10 minutes of play in each match. That’s 380 minutes a season, more than 4 whole matches. Bruno Fernandes can run 10km in a game. That’s an extra 40km on the clock potentially. Coaching like we’re Ajax. Considering the additional cup competition in comparison to the other European leagues, what about the size of those leagues? Ajax play in an 18 team league. That’s 4 fewer matches a season. If you’re keeping up with the maths, that’s 12+ matches extra a season by virtue of playing in England alone. 120km on Bruno’s tyres. But why mention the coaching? I think Ten Hag coaches us like we have that shorter schedule. I don’t think he has reduced the intensity of his training sessions to account for that. The players are knackered. Too many are 30+ and more prone to injuries. That’s not a purely a Ten Hag problem. It’s a legacy of recruitment over the last decade. But he’s fielding the fallout. Essay written. Probably won’t be read, but there’s a lot of problems that United could be leading the fights against.

I don't think we should be trying to find a new coach as well. If we are to sack Ten Hag, IMO it should be because we have a new strategic direction and we have a good idea of the man to coach in that new structure. Now, I don't think we have that new structure, or game model, or even acquisition model, yet. In my opinion, there've been too many bad decisions over the season to justify Ten Hag keeping his job. All the drama with numerous players, a very questionable talent id and only bringing in players from his contact list resulting in shocking transfers. No structure in or out of possession even though he's shaped the team for 2 years. Very little game management. I think about 15 shots conceded per game without making any changes in the set up or tactics throughout the season. Negative goal difference. Benching Amad for Forson. The shady work going on with his sons agent agency. etc. It's important to not only look at the results (because we're not as good as we like to think we are) but the trajectory of where things our going. Right now, I think we're heading for relegation within 5 years if this continues. He might feel he's been hard done by, but he has to go.

With psg, he was asked about many psg players being let go on free transfers and he voiced his concerns publicly then was sacked soon after with leonardo suggesting that was the case.

I think Man United should move on from ETH, I dont think hes a bad manager but I think things have fallen away from him. We've had out worst finish in decades and even then the underlying stats suggest we've overperformed to achieve this position. I could stomach this if in exchange for a poor season results wise we instead got many great performances and a clear playing style but we've been awful to watch all season and we get dominated by almost every team we play. Do I think ETH has been set up for success at United? Absolutely not, and in addition to that hes had to deal with all sorts of silly nonsense with players as well as an injury crisis. I have a lot of sympathy towards him but I also think that there must be an accountability for the fact that things just havent worked out. I think a lot of football is down to timing. Sometimes theres good timing and sometimes there is bad timing. I think if ETH was arriving this summer fresh from winning the Eredivisie at Ajax and arriving into the INEOS setup that would have been perfect, but now after two seasons I think things have deteriorated to a point where its unclear whether hes suitable even with the new setup. I would be happy for the new United board to identify one of the upcoming coaches ot there and give them a clean slate with a great setup above them, letting the coach do his job working on the team. Im a fan of many of these coaches like Motta, De Zerbi, Nagelsmann, Alonso, Amorim etc but Ill be honest and say I dont know who the man would be to take us forward, but I would trust that any new setup would have their own ideas for how United should play as well as the managers around Europe who could help us acheive that.

It seems like fans are desperate and I get it, but at this point we’ve been waiting forever.. so if you’ve been patient for this long, I’m sure you can be a little bit more patient to see what ten hag does with the proper structure around him. Also I don’t get so depressed being a United fan because I love watching all football & I still get joy from that. We WILL be back to where we were…it’s not a matter of if, but when. I’m just glad INEOS is actually recruiting world class people into the clubs staff. That’s what gives me hope as a United fan. I still don’t like the glazers and never will but I guess they did do something right in a long time in appointing Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.

The reason the FA Cup is so important for INEOS is because if united lose the final it would 100% confirm united have no European football next year that's why they are waiting to sack him after final

Scott Mctominay, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford. These are the players left from the old days. If there is a talk about bad culture and it's impact on the youth team, then it falls on the feet of the three names i just mentioned

100 percent keep him. It's only been bad this season because of the injuries we've had in major areas. Most managers that get injuries usually struggle. He had his best team last season and finished 3rd with 2 finals and trophy. He's had a lot of issues to deal with on and off the pitch. Most of the time we play games he only has like 3 players that he's signed on the pitch. Wait till he's got a full 11 of his own on a consistent basis.

I'd say give the man another year, which is his last year contractually. Changing now feels like a knee-jerk reaction unless Sir Jim and INEOS already have someone in mind and just waiting for the Cup Final to conclude before announcing it. I am very, very curious, to see how EtH would do, if he has all the players he needs. Just curious how his Man Utd will be.

I would imagine Sir Jim made his decision weeks ago and 1 of 2 things is currently happening... 1- they've already told him he's staying. 2- they've already told him he's going with a full pay off and he's being professional about it, with a replacement already waiting in the wings. I find it extremely hard to believe that ETHs future depends on the result in the cup final. They will know what they want next season. I for 1, wouldn't be at all surprised if they gave the keys to Mourinho. Big name manager, successful almost everywhere he's been (spurs cough cough). He still has an affection for us and the only reason he left last time was Woodward and the glazers. If he's only dealing with Ineos, and gets full backing in the transfer market..... and to be honest.... If the choices are Mourinho Southgate Touchel or another young manager being hyped, I'd rather have Jose. Anyone else would get eaten alive by the press fans and the players. If Jose was gonna stick around anywhere and build his own dynasty, we're perfect for each other at the moment. (Ideally I'd love Ancellotti, but yeah, that's not happening anytime soon is it)

We get it... Jose gives you a stiffy. Unfortunately, he's a relic now. One league title since he left Madrid and that was at Chelsea 9 years ago. He's failed miserably everywhere since then. He is the exact opposite of what we need now. He likes to buy big money, ready made, older players. We're investing in young potential now. You say he can handle big names.... when has he ever been able to do that??? That's his downfall every time.

The more there's no leaks, the more I feel it's because the new board wants Southgate, and Southgate requested to keep a tight lid to not disturb England preparations for Euro and that he will decide on the United job depending on the outcome of Euro. I really hope not, but I really feel it's bad that there's this eerie silence around ETH future.

Pochettino now or never, don’t blow it. The ETH apologists need to take a long, hard look at the seasons stats and if they don’t understand them, have someone who does, explain them. Shocking season and ETH can’t hide behind injuries as a shield. I wish him all the very best but at another club.

I think win or lose in the final, he’s out. I think they’ve already made that decision. Now with Poch available, there’s already reports United are interested in him again. So clearly, I think the writing is on the wall that Sir Jim wants a new manager to start a new era. They’re just making us wait, and keeping it quiet out of hopes maybe, just maybe we win the FA Cup. Then they can call it a mutual decision versus a sacking.

🚨 ETH contract is the sticking point. Having only 1 yr left he’d want reassurances w Bayern in the waiting and it’s a risk for INEOS to back a guy after our worst season in PL history. It might be too far gone - hate to see another manager sacked but it’s prob best to mutually part ways.

This season has been terrible, but it was out of his hands due to Injuries. 30 different defensive line-ups - WOW! I hope he stays, and continues to rebuild the squad - He can do it :)

I'm looking at the bigger picture. ETH has no tactical flexibility. His acquisitions have been extremely poor. 80 million for Anthony is the prime example. Onana isn't a good enough keeper. Mount peaked 2 years ago. Casimiero is past it. Amrabat was too slow. ETH might not be going anywhere at the moment but when Ratcliffe has completed his analysis he will come to the inevitable conclusion that ETH isn't the man for the job. You say these players have sacked several managers. In that case it's up to the manager to be flexible and get the most out of them given their limitations. ETH isn't doing this. He's asking them to do things they can't do. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. ETH has had issues to deal with. So do most managers. That's the job. The glaring problem is mentality and that's a managers job to sort out. He isn't doing it.
