I feel like Penelope and Eloise are the only two that kind of noticed that Colin was being fake and he's not a player. Glad thats over. That's why she wasn't really mad with what Penelope wrote about her brother cuz she agreed with it. Absolutely love this season so far!

A couple of wet dreams about Penelope would have balanced the part 1, they didn't show enough pining from Collin, he did seem like he is in the sidelines.

I agree with you on the fact that the Featheringtons provided comic relief! They were hilarious! Lord Debling was one of my favorite characters.

Theory about why stories seem rushed? Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild both were on strike for 6 months last year. I think that pushed back the release and made the post-production rushed because they couldn't do rewrites, reshoots, etc...until the strikes were over and they could get folks back in writers room

I think it was just right, because it's already been spelled out that they've been friends since childhood. They have built the friendship part since S1 and even before that in their timeline. I think with only 8 episodes, it was just right that the flip of Pen giving up on the marriage mart and on Colin at the end of ep 2 and Colin feeling the change in their relationship after the kiss is just right timing. And I also appreciate the way Colin figured out his feelings and he did not fight it. He was sure and he wanted it, he confessed and poured his heart out. I think people forget that we still have 4 more episodes to go and that includes LW reveal to Colin.. so I don't think it's rushed for a friends to lovers trope.

1000% agree.. the plot is ridiculous, it doesn't make justice to Penelope's intelligence, everything was rushed, Colin look like Nemo he only stares with his mouth opened... not one important or relevant conversation between them, suddenly after 500 years he falls for her out of nowhere... the side plots are absurd expect Francesca perhaps but this is Polin season, not enough airtime for them... To have another man in the middle to make Colin jealous sounds more like hurt ego than love (also he didn't say he loved her and that part is accurate that was lust and why isn't she after me like she always was and not love)... poorly written, looks like a soap opera or a teenager movie. It's a shame, because Penelope is my favorite character, I don't care much for Colin and here he has no personality he didn't effectively change... it was a mess. I find the fandom incredibly fanatic and impermeable to any criticism like its forbidden to not like the first part, its like a cult, which makes me even more uncomfortable with the series.

I couldn’t agree more. There were too many story lines 100% They should have shown more of colin and penelope. We have waited two years for them to only get a handful of scenes with them. They should have concentrated on Colin and Penelope’s story maybe il feel different once part 2 comes out. Benedict’s story was unnecessary. I felt we should have had colin pine a little more for penelope as she has for two seasons. Your review is bang on and i felt the same especially the hot air balloon , I was like “really Penelope” 😂

Completely agree too many storylines and rushed. If you’re adding people that aren’t in the books maybe there needs to be more episodes

I disagree with everyone on this because Penelope has had huge screentime for 3 SEASONS. She has had a huge storyline over the whole time since season one episode one. We have seen her and Colin grow. We saw them as friends, we saw Penelope be in love and be jealous of him while he liked another woman. We saw Penalope do bad things about of her jealousy, by writing about her pregnant relative in the gossip column etc. We saw Colin be embarrassed of Penalope in the last season. Like so much has already happened . All the other couples only had 1 season but they already set the scene and introduced these characters to us. So I don't think it's rushed. I loved all the other characters storylines in the first part. Penalope and Colin are not new or interesting to me to have all the screentime and all the drama all over again..

EXACTLY let’s not forget that during Kate’s season instead of learning more about her family we got more storylines about the Featheringtons!!!! Penelope has too much screen time

I agree with everything you’re saying but I’m always see alot of comments about friends to lovers being rushed. So matter the story, fanbases always complain about the with friends to lovers. I don’t understand. Overall I don’t like this season, I think they dropped the ball, I don’t the last four episodes can redeem it for me.

too many other stories going on plus they are boring stories at that. this book is one of my favourites but they changed it why? to make more drama for the other characters? but this is con and pens story i hope the next part is better
