It seems like most of y'all enjoyed the video, which i'm happy for, but it seems like I did get some things incorrect in this video: 1. Scotty was indeed wearing a certified helmet during his crash, some of y'all corrected me in the comments but JR Hobbs clarified to me that Scotty told him that personally, so I was wrong, I should've gone off more than pictures and assuming lol, I should've tried asking Scotty directly but the thought of DMing him was a bit intimidating 2. I made a little quip that Sean guilt tripped Garrett Reynolds into sending him another frame, he did not, he bought it. Again, i'm not immune to saying ignorant things Thank you to all who corrected me, while i'll always try my best, I will still get it wrong sometimes. And Sean thank you for that very entertaining phone call, I'd love to tell y'all all about it but something tells me Sean just wants the attention

I'll even add , I highly recommend new riders have brakes until they have bike control then they can take the brakes off, in my area there were a few deaths in our already small BMX community because all the talented riders rode beakless and the new riders wanted to be just like their local shredders.

I’m subscribed for the guitar content, I don’t ride bmx. I watched the entire video and completely agree with your view and takeaway on this. This thought process itself can be applied to many different situations in life, and I wish more people would think the same.

helmets have saved my noggin a few times in BMX, moto, and in construction

I wasn’t wearing a helmet one day because i just wanted to goof around at a curb. Ended up having two day reoccurring amnesia because apparently some girl lost her skate in my wheels just as i was 180ing off that curb..

it seems like the majority of the community is pro-helmet even if they don't wear one themselves, which is a good thing. I only have a problem when people start openly talking bad about wearing a helmet or encourage others to not wear one, because that's just dangerous.

Bro I loved the video and agree with your point of view , I personally since day one , never have liked Sean as a rider , he falls under my category of another pro ass hole rider, along with chase h. I have a Pro Tech helmet that is certified. Seems they have some cheaper skate ones that aren’t, but most of their helmets are.

I think I have more of an old head look on pro-tec, when I first got into bmx the uncertified bucky's were VERY popular and VERY common, it seems like after Brett's crash they dropped in popularity drastically. It does seem like most helmets these days are certified which is a good thing

And as far as the chase hawk comments... he may have said something out to the public that maybe he shouldn't, but he is just saying what alot of them do without saying anything

that's the thing he wasn't saying all this stuff publicly, he was saying all of this really slimy stuff in the DMs and Sean leaked them, there's a reason people say don't meet your heros. A lot of troubled and flawed souls seem to make their way to BMX, My favorite rider for like the first 7 or so years I had been riding ended up being a really crappy and abusive person behind the scenes. You can still separate the art from the artist and appreciate their riding and all they've done for BMX, but unfortunately a lot of bmx pros are just not people to look up to

This will all blow over in a month or two, then we can look back and say "Remember when it was Sean vs. the Trolls" and laugh about it, very few of us riders get their 15 minutes of fame or even a 2nd relapse of it but Sean will go back to a few 100 likes per post and no mentions in the community just like before. the internet moves fast and that's where BMX lives unfortunately.

Why does everyone talk about helmets like it some force field around your whole body, I’ve been concussed helmet and without, but damn a knee fracture or snapping your spine is some intense ass stuff and would take 10 concussions over that any day, plus recovery. I agree, like I said throughout the entire helmet section that no one can force you to wear a helmet, if someone wants to make the dumb decision and not wear one that's their choice, it's a choice I myself make at times too. But also like I said in my video, bullying someone or trying to say it's lame to wear one is not okay. At the end of the day it's a personal choice, but I think it's an adult's duty to encourage people to wear one, especially the youth

The helmet thing kills me.. the Tyler crash wasn’t the first time “the helmet brigade” went to town ripping someone apart for not wearing a helmet. In Tyler’s case it got to the point that it was straight up harassment.. It’s a choice just like everything else in YOUR life. I’ve been on this planet for 40 years I know about concussions and brain trauma and all the consequences that comes along with not wearing one and I’m sure everyone else that isn’t wear a helmet also already knows.. everyone just need to drop it.. The only thing you should be worrying about is what YOU are putting on YOUR head
