"There is a dot on the screen." *entire screen is covered by a dark circle* Pretty sure that doesn't really qualify as a dot anymore, but alright.

Dirt Under Lens = There are dots on the screen
Also you should restore or refurbished Retro home consoles like N64 , NES , SNES , GENESIS etc ... That would be super cool
2:49 its a gameboy, but with a twist

I know this is an old comment, but it's extremely underrated
Great vid and amazing score for what these limited edition dmg pockets are going for now. Cant wait to see you install the rgb touch backlight.

I still remember buying my GB Pocket back in 1998, about four years after I had sold my original Game Boy. I was literally blown away by all the improvements Nintendo had made on the GB pocket, it was just amazing at the time.
The retro future before I watched your channel I dident even know what a gameboy was but your channel inspired me to reapir game boys I repaired 2 I am starting a collection plush I'm 9 yrs old
Nice to see a GameBoy that heroically took a bullet for someone getting some TLC.

Well done! It's always nice seeing these handhelds get new life after a refurb. The GB pocket and the GBA Micro are the only 2 I didn't own so it is always interesting to see what people liked about it.
Your refurbished GameBoy systems always look amazing! I never tire of watching them. I’m glad someone fixes these up and puts them back out there for the world to enjoy.
great video, id love to see more gameboy/nintendo referbs in future. maybe other nintendo handhelds and consoles
Intro was awesome Great refurb, still missing this one from the collection, fingers crossed I'll find one soon

Thanks man! A GameBoy Pocket?
Dude that green polarizer matches the housing's original Game Boy style perfectly
Now i am curious how the WarpBoy happened. Accident at an acetone factory? Gameboy slipped into an oven? Tried to power-cure epoxy and failed?

Siana Gearz left in a hot car would be my guess, especially given the weather in the UK recently.

Left in s HOT CAR? No no no no. ABS plastic that the GameBoy is made of doesn't start to become pliable under 90°C, and you can't possibly tell me that it got THAT hot. Some parts of the dashboard would melt too, because they're made from the same, or materials with very similar melting behaviour such as ASA. Voldermore? Never heard of... it? her? him?

Nice to see that you now have an intro!
Loving your videos! Awesome job!
I love when you work with and refurb handhelds. I grew up on cassettes and am over them by now. but the handhelds are my one true love.
Amazing how you make the gameboy look new
maybe a lets refurb on like a nes or snes would be cool

Really liked the new intro!
Great video!! Please keep the intro. It's super cool 😊
Also! A Refurb on Any DS products would be awesome!
I'd love to see you playing weird Gameboy games. I really enjoyed watching that part.
So all you had to do was remove the cover of the screen...good to know! I thought no matter what the whole screen would need to be replaced. Nice camera work on the video, been watching for a while and you are doing good.

intro and the music works perfect! btw any idea if retro bright would work with a gameboy color? I have the 2 Teal versions which have turned a darker colour over time. Once again you do amazing job bringing the GameBoys back to life and looking like new! keep up the good work!

I have done a video on retrobrighting GBC's. It doesnt work very well to be honest. Makes the colour fade.
These videos are so satisfying and well made 👌
Great restoration and yes i know there were 2 models of the gameboypocket ,1 with and 1 without led indicator, but i nener saw a gameboypocket with a GREEN lcd screen,i only saw those ones with a GRAY screen, but i guess those japanese versions contain a green screen unlike the western versions, i don’t for sure but am curious about it.
This vid was pretty slick, love it. When you take off the screen, you're just replacing the polarizer?
This channel has an unbelievably satisfying aesthetic! Now I desperately want a gameboy pocket!
I love your videos. Could you please do a video where you replace transistors in a Game Gear? They're known for losing sound and other functions over time. Thanks again for a great channel
Great intro!
7:37 mr sheen looks an awful lot like sheen from jimmy neutron
you make this seem so fun and hella easy it makes me consider doing it as a part time job
This was so relaxing to watch.
mr sheen rides again :D great work elliot, still hoping to see you do a game gear refurb project someday.

Mr. Sheen provides again.
Good job, that was satisfying to watch. Have some good memories from my childhood of this.
Ah, the GameBoy Pocket. I have not owned this one, but I have played a friend's GBP. At the time I was impressed with the crisp screen without the green, and in general how they got it so small as compared to the old Classic. Today, unless I find one cheap at a garage sale, I will just stick with black and white mode on the GameBoy Color or Advance.
I had 4 of these for the same price from japan a year ago. Managed to refurb 3 out 4, sold them for 20$ each.
Please do more gameboy mod videos. Preferably gameboy pocket dmg and gba if possible. This is why I sarted watching your channel and although the walkmans seem interesting its the gameboy nostalgia that keeps me coming back. Mix it up if you may but please keep bringing more gameboy videos. If refurbs are getting boring try some gameboy mods to the Gameboy pocket like backligt and bivert video because I feel like an HD version for installation needs to be made. Thanks again for all your work!
I really enjoy watching your videos. Your videos got me to want to fix Gameboys too. I now have a small collection of around 30 that I've repaired. In fixing and modding them I've run into a lot of issues. I've tried several ags 101 mods without any real success. I think good videos about mods and trouble shooting would be something I'd be interested in.

only just recently discovered this channel, would love to see some refurbs on the playstation 2 slim version
This turned out great!
It's so soothing to watch you fix these tired, broken consoles so they can be loved once more.
Superb work looks great .
Really like the new intro, keep it up c:

Let's Refurb is great, no matter what you fix. Be it a gameboy or anything else.
i remember oddworld on the playstation was hard to play and had a lot of instructions on certain button combinations lol
Hey! I love your videos and hearing what you have to say. After watching you refurbish these gameboy pockets I've become interested myself. I've been trying to find those screen polarizers or whatever you're replacing but I'm not finding them. If you see this could you maybe help me out? Also keep making the awesome videos! I love them all!
Maybe a let's refurb on a 3ds? Would love to know how to fix hinge shorting issues which can be a common fault.
Congrats on 400K subs. Just practicing....
nice it's funny I was watching that same gameboy on Ebay and then you got nice job keep up the good work
Yeah refurb s on game gear and wonderswan would be interesting

thething1979 Game Gears aren't cheap. Though, It is a good console.
Wish I had seen this video a few days ago. Saw a couple Gameboy Pockets at a Flea Market in Japan with that same burnt polarizing film issue. I can only assume they would've let them go for a few dollars. Oh well, I'll definitely remember that it's most likely the polarizing film, and not the entire screen that needs replaced, next time I see something like that out in the wild.
I’m planning to get the shell & a backlit screen with the green original screen to make that one

Brazilian fan here! Continue the good job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I know you listed the artist for the background music, but I can't see to find the song, what's the song title?
duuuuude! I dont find in any place that clear case cover for the Game Boy
Idk why but the yellow one looks a little cool kinda like its gold
I like the intro 😃
i have one of these now :) sits next my DMG, Light and BennVenn backlit Color :)
Where do you get your polarizers? I need a few for some DMGs and Pockets.
Loved the music
Doing great Elliot. Keep it up man

Really good intro!
Love the intro
First time here. Subbed. Enjoyed the video. Well put together content. Loved how it was shot and the background music. Something I don't understand, though, is 4:12. You cleaned the cracks out of the screen? I must be missing something...

Awesome. Thank you for clearing that up. I have now learned something new :)
I actually liked the intro music :)
Let’s refurb! “Entire limited edition GB gets a bath! _story time_ “
You literally turned on oddworld.. I'm playing the second one right now :-)
When he said limited edition pocket I thought he was talking about a gameboy light witch was released at the same time as the gameboy color (don't know why they couldn't just backlight a gameboy color but oh well)
Where can I pick up a clear case like that for my gb pocket? That looks really cool!
Have you found a way to return the black tint to the GBP? I bought polarizers from Deadpan Robot but they lack the black layer that makes GBPocket black instead of green.
Where do you get those storage cases for the Gameboy itself? You mentioned in your collection video that everyone's always asking and that it's just found on ebay, but I've searched for everything I can think of and can't find them.
In the US u can get those for like 15 working in decent condition
Nice video! That same seller is selling a Super Famicom for like 3$, excluding shipping.

If you were to glue the screen lens now what sort of adhesive would you use? Is regular super glue a good idea?
I want to get myself a backlight for my gameboy color, but i turned my gameboy color on and the screen was not working. Im mildly sad now.
Wait what did happen to the old gameboy
Hello, Thank you for all tour videos! I just bought a GBP with this issue for 5€. Where do you bought this polarized film? Do you have a link please?
Thanks for the video!
Have you ever tried polishing/buffing a gameboy shell to remove the scratches on it??
@TheRetroFuture

I haven't! Sounds good though!
Probably you get this question a lot. But I bought 2 game boy games that promise to be refurbish or with new battery and both of them don't work. Is there a chance that could be the game boy? One of this game is Pokemon Crystal... The other one is Zelda ages....help
great vid. I too buy used consoles at pawn shops, yard sales, ect and clean and fix them. The last console I found was 3 xbox 360's in the trash. the only thing was wrong with them was the band on the disk trays was wore out. Easy fix, i sold 2 consoles and kept 1 . Now i do everything from kids inno tabs, vcrs, dvd players and tvs

Where is the video of how the other pocket got all twisted?
Nice video !! Have you ever tried putting a backlight with a burned screen ? Does it feel like the same with à polarizer ? 😎😎
How do the screens actually burn up like that? Really just from lying in the sun?
Why is there an entirely warped Nintendo case?
that was extremely satisfying to watch.
need me one of these
I really love video game refurbish, but don't mind a walkman once in a while :)

That's what I like to see!
How does he clean the mainboard and the contrast setter of this gameboy?
Wanting to get I to soldering and was wondering what the beat solder to use on game boy colors are. I’ve seen lead 60/40 rosin but I’m not sure. Any help?
Where do you get you polarizing film? I need one for a GN pocket I'm Working on.
Good job showing and not telling during the repair portion.
