Sanremo is not a selection for Eurovision, but is our musical festival! If she wins, she can refuse to partecipe to Eurovision

Loredana is now 74. She was a hell of a singer in the 70es and 80es with a huge string of memorable high quality albums. Today she is very respected (she was not when she was young due to her rebel soul) and italians forgive her even when she sinjgs out of key 😀

You know… She’s the sister of Mia Martini… Mia represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1977 with Libera and in 1992, in Malmö, with Rapsodia. Swedish people know very well Loredana, she has been the wife of the famous tennis player Björn Borg

I've never seen feedback that was as respectful of a song and singer as you were! And I thank you for that. As you rightly said, Loredana is much loved in Italy because she is part of our history and her life was not easy. Her appearances in Sanremo were often adorned with scandals. She often shocked people with her performances. How can you not love her? I was and still am a big fan of hers. But I have to agree with you that this song would not do well in the ESC. Every Italian loves Loredana!

I totally understand how a foreigner does not resonate with this performance. To us Italians, the lyrics of the song are very important. This song is about her, the rough life she's had, and the way she feels about it now, basically forgiving herself and the mistakes she's made. She is 70ish and she's an icon here. So even though I like other songs better, that could do very well in Eurovision, I would be ok if she wins. She deserves it.

She is a legend. What she's singing is pretty much her life in lyrics. I LOVE Loredana and I hope she can win this, though I admit it's not my fav of her songs and I would rather see someone else going to Eurovision (Mahmood, Annalisa, BigMama..) .

Because she is a rebel: Her sister was an amazing singer died to much early (suicide) and she soffered more to this, also Mia Martini (sister) was considereted the "elegant one" and Loredana "the wrong one". For a period was married with a nordish tennis player and stopped her music for him, but was a toxic relation and she talk about this time like phisical and psycologic violence. In the 70/80/90 was called "MAD" (PAZZA) because was so different. This song said "I'm mad about me (I'm in love with me) I ate me for a long time, now if I need forgive can I ask to myself, they called you mad but after you are the saint" she created the italian music. Listen "non sono una signora". (And please forgive my english)

Loredana is an icon! Her career is more than 50 years long and a lot of her songs are famous and have been translated in all Europe! Please search for “sei bellissima” or “non sono una signora”.

comunque, da italiano, è incredibile vedere quanto sia famoso l'eurovision al di fuori dell'italia, non è la prima volta che sento dire che san remo è la selezione per scegliere il cantante da mandare all'eurovision, ma la verità è che al 99% degli italiani importa veramente poco dell'eurovision, o se importa è una cosa secondaria rispetto a san remo

Esattamente, Sanremo è praticamente un’istituzione e tutte le competizioni musicali anche a livello internazionale diventano secondarie. Se il festival fa il 60% di Share televisivo, l’Eurovision è già tanto se ne fa la metà

She is a star... She is an important part of Italian music, this song is autobiografic.. Try to tralsate... Never mind if is not right for eurovision...

Sanremo Is the festival of the italian music, It Is not releted with Eurovision, usually the winner Is asked to represent Italy but we don't vote for this, we vote the best Song for lyrics, music, meaning ecc. This Is a Song about feminine acceptance, selfstime, not care about other opinion e be truth to yourself. She says "they call you Crazy and then...then they make you a saint, i've hated my self enough, i'm Crazy about my self". I just love this Song, Is so reletable for young girls and women

We think that is just the right way to do it! Congrats on the best musical festival, we are enjoying every second. We have no chance to compete with this in Norway show wise unfortunately :/

Just to be clear, the first night Italy was not voting, that was the press chart only. They only vote in the first round.

Sanremo is THE contest in Italy. What will happen after that , if the singer will go or not to eurovision or if he will do good is not impoetant. To win Sanremo is the most important prize.

They've already told you but I'll say it again: in Sanremo the Italians and the jury DO NOT vote for the song they imagine is most suitable for Eurovision. If this were the case, the winners of Sanremo would often have been others... I would say that Italians have never given much consideration to Eurovision (perhaps that changed a bit after Maneskin's victory). You are very nice. Greetings from Italy! 😊

When you say it some bells rung here as well! I think I saw them together once as a child, but haven’t thought about her since! But that is cool! I really like her after getting reinteoduced now anyways☺️

The issue is connecting Sanremo with the aim of Eurovision. You don't need to do that, it's just basically unfair and useless
