More Middle Earth battles, please!

Really enjoyed the bat rep guys! Rohan and Isengard are my two favourite armies in SBG. Lurtz killing Theoden outright was a surprise! Couple of small errors I noticed for your future reports: -You cant move within 1" (control zone) of an enemy model unless you are going to engage them. So one of your riders couldn't have charge Vrasku in that first charge. -If a Cavalry model wins a Duel on a turn in which it charged, all the infantry models engaging it (except those with Str6 or more) are Knocked Prone. Not just one. -If a model chooses to Stab and loses the fight, they suffer a Str2 hit after the fight is resolved (doesnt matter that you shielded)

At 21:50, the Rider knocks EVERYONE in the fight prone, not just one guy 👍🏻

I thought Rohan was going to smash because of the intimidating Calvary numbers and ranged attacks in the beginning. It was cool to see Lurtz lead his band of savages to what i thought was an unexpected victory!

I had to come back to these videos for a refresher. Got the urge to try ME SBG. I was looking at the easy button and make and Army of the Dead to start. Then maybe an Angar force one day.

Awesome game love the mechanics, I'm now hooked.

That was awesome. Glad there's more hype for this game now as I have over a hundred minis that need to play again. I'm sure the amazon show will only hope as well wen that comes out.

First off, let me say thanks for pumping out the batreps Ash! I recently learned about the new 2 player starter for this and have been investigating it. I also recently received my Kickstarter pledge for A Song of Ice & Fire and lo an behold, look who ALSO has a batrep out for that? Looks like I'll be heading back to the patreon page again! Had to take a break for a while but I'll be supporting again soon. Also, it's pretty damn clear which game you enjoyed playing more. :) The ASOIAF batrep seemed like you were struggling to get to the end. I'm not giving up though, I sunk a chunk of money into that game so I'll be getting my damn money's worth, one way or the other!

Was thinking of doing my old models from back in 2013 away, but now that I know they just updated the rules after the Hobbit cashgrab edition I'm delighted to pick it up again! Universe works in strange ways.

Isengard seemed really powerful - they spend half the battle doing near-nothing and getting shot up, but still took the victory in close combat. I guess the smart thing for the Rohirrim player to do would have been to just stay at range as much as possible and kite?

I really missed playing this game. I'm glad that GW is reintroducing it.

This looked very fun to play, although I didn't quite know what was happening at times :)

At 23:02 you have to do a roll to know who heroic charge go first... Very important for cav to charge so potential game changer

So yeah, I bought a lot of easterlings today. Dunno how that happened

I really, like this game.it reminds, of battle for middle-earth. The 360 version, I got as a gift, it's super, addictive like most, r.t.s. games.

One more question. Around 16:30, Riders of Rohan shoot and hit on 4+ even after moving half speed. Isn't there a -1 to-hit penalty for move and shoot?

Well being General is objectively a penalty if you’re a frontline fighter as you tend to be a VP Objective... but thematically it fits!

19:37 the Rohan guy cannot aim for the crossbow Uruk as he may shoot his friend in the trajectory I think.

Ah, it's just like that scene in Two Towers, where the Riders shoot a bunch of Uruk with bows. Then they charge in and suck and die in melee. Wait... Why doesn't that sound right?

When you move you are at -1 to hit. Except for throwing weapons. Granted, cannot remember what shoot skill Rohirrim have

How do people remember all the rules and how much atk each character has etc etc

I wonder if theres any online games that works like this. Only one that comes to mind is Age Of Fantasy though that doesnt have dice rolls

Thats dodgy dice right there.....never ever seen that many 5's or 6's at every roll when needed!!!!

I've never played the Lord of the Rings Miniature game but have been playing Age of Sigmar. In AoS I roll all dice at once for each unit, take the number of successes and continue rolling from there. I noticed in this video that each model rolls individually. Is there any reason all models in one unit can't be rolled together like in AoS?

You can roll in groups provided the modes firing and targets have the same mods but it’s more of a player agreement than a written rule.

Does it specifically say in the book that Rohan can ignore the rule for only 25 percent shooting?

Yes, any Riders models do not count towards it (as they all have Bows).
