Im watching for the first time!

Glad to be of service! Be sure to play through the tutorials, especially the torpedo one. My game is also modded with a package called GWX 3.0 which adds a lot of details and features to the game. I recommend downloading that, but only after you've gotten somewhat comfortable with the stock game. Happy sinkings!

1939 torpedoes were indeed unreliable....but take solace in the fact that on the other hand, allies were not all that greatly prepared to hunt you yet.

Patrol 1 was a prewar patrol and I didn't make a recording of it. The videos for patrols 2-4 were a part of a text LP I did on the VoltronArmy forums.

i played some months back Silent Hunter 4 with american & german subs, but SH3 looks even better i might try it and thanks for the useful commentary and gameplay.

Just watched the Greyhound movie. Felt like revisiting this old series again.

Was it as bad as the trailers made it out to be? Cause the trailers made the subs out to be sharks. So much so that I thought they were originally going to make a "Megashark vs. WWII Convoy" movie for Syfy but decided to go with a normal WWII movie.

At that point, Canada was it's own Dominion. What's the lag like? Does it just suddenly lag for a few moments and then continue on like normal, or is it ongoing? If it's ongoing (which I'm guessing it is), it can be because the game is loading a port or a convoy. It tends to slow down noticeably if there are lots of ships or other objects that it has to load. If the lag goes away as you go further out to sea, that's probably the culprit. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

Where did you get the wolf add on you were talking about at the beginning of the video?

+sgtfoxhound sh 5 is a *shame* ....

Especially before the Norwegian campaign, I preferred the "self exposing" torpedoes to the "toy torpedoes" that likely will not detonate at all. Indeed, if those toy torpedoes had really worked, the British would have likely lost the battleship HMS Warspite during Norwegian campaign. Warspite suffered four direct hits...no damage because torpedo warheads did not detonate. For this historic fact reason, I often used the bubble trail leaving torpedoes...

yes thats it, when i leave willemshaven than it lags because of all the ships and planes, but i love this mod except that it is pretty hard to hit anything, and i can't always use the deckgun :( but thx!

well canada would of mostly likely joined the war recardless due to it being part of the commonwealth and still having close ties with britain

You may have better luck downloading a torrent of it if the official links aren't working. Apart from that, I'm afraid I don't have any recommendations. The standard game is perfectly fine if you can't find a way of getting GWX, but GWX really, really improves it. I hope you can find a workaround.

back when steam had standards now any game can get on that site even ones with viruses ( heroes and generals) their so called anti cheat software which by the way does absolutely nothing to negate hackers and cheating registered as a virus capable of letting hackers create back door to access files warthunder installer is also a virus

The difference between the torpedoes is not just a bubble trail.... The gas torpedoes have a range of 12.5 km in slow speed and 5km in fast speed, but for fast speed the hit is 99.9% sure when the target ship is moving fast (15-21 kts). The second torpedoes are electric and they aren't fast and their range is only 5km. Their speed is slow and they're most likely to miss a target... Fucking bubbles....

Ah, I miss this game. The sequels are nothing in comparison.

Your actually not butchering Wilhelmshaven (speak v like f, then it's perfect) or Kiel (was perfect). U allways appreciate good pronounciation on German words.

Its a mixed bag. Silent hunter 4 has better graphics and the AI is a bit better. There are some damn good mods for it as well. But there are more bugs than a cheap motel. Silent hunter 3 is a much more reliable engine.

worst part of the game... you fight the british. best part of the game... you destroy the french.
