Oh man I know you guys have been waiting for this and here it is, just in time for Christmas. It's MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries! The mechiest mechwarrior game to ever mech. This is just so immersive and exciting and everything so I apologize for the delay but I wanted to make it real special for you guys I love you all!
MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries is a stand-alone game that really kicked the MechWarrior franchise into overdrive. Now the campaign is dynamic, because you're the one choosing the contracts, and it all plays out just before the Clan Invasion. You get to play a role in various conflicts of your choosing, and it's all so full of BattleTechness it's probably out of critical slots. A few quick notes to get you up to speed on what I'll be doing, after all, speed is life. You go slow, you die. I'll be playing the original DOS version with my original Mercenaries CD, so you'll be getting the real authentic experience as if you'd just opened the box like it were September 30th, 1996, just like I did because I'm friggin' old! I'll probably be saving and dying a lot, I'll try to play out as many missions as possible, because I don't want this to just be any other run-through. Mercenaries was a stand-alone game, so there are some gameplay adjustments. You have a new EVA, the weapons all sound new, you can have up to five groups of weapons, mechs can fall down (that's bad, by the way), and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting.

Ohhh... there's something that brings back pure happiness and nostalgia when I hear that opening to the intro... And the mission later on... when you hunt 'pirates' on the periphery border... Can't wait.

Damn, i've been waiting YEARS for you to get to this game.
Remember Mechwarrior belongs to Battletech franchise. There is a tabletop game "Battletech a game of armored combat" that is like playing a Mechcommander sim on paper. If intimidated by rules check Battletech Fan youtube visual guide.
Oh heck yeah! This is my favorite Mechwarrior game despite the bugs. Good luck on the ice ship contract, if you take it.
Awesome! I'm looking forward to watching your Lets Play of MW2:Mercs. As a side note, have you ever played HBS's new BattleTech? It seems like a game you would really like.

I'm getting around to it but the PC, I am stretching it as far as it can go right now... I mean the damn thing is 8 years old would you believe it?

@@L1011Widebody That's understandable. Its pretty good when you can get that amount of mileage out of a computer. Well, when you get a new one, I'd give it a try. I really like it as a MechWarrior/MechCommander fan. I think you would enjoy it too.

You can also play tabletop Battletech. Search "battletech catalog" I am.hacing lots of fun with the armored combat box and Mechwarrior Destiny RPG. Unlike DnD, Destiny is very light on mechanics so you can focus on story. It is useful to lure anime fans who love to write fan fiction into Battletech.
This and power rangers is what set the tone for my love of metal, best sound track ever! Too bad it only plays for like three mins in the missions... Omg I loved this game I will still play it of you put it in front of me, are there any others like this?
You are playing as if it was tabletop. Aspect angle matters to avoid shots in this one, not in tabletop. And unlike tabletop, in this game your skill makes a difference. Once I had a Beginner box game with a desperate Thunderbolt with few damage points in the torso remaining. I had that Wolverine one hex away from me, very damaged, easy pickings. Fired all 4 weapons and missed. Was this pilot drunk or what??? Then Commando fired and blasted it. And then there was another very damaged Wolverine with 3 damage points in center torso remaining. So Commando ran as hell and turned to face the Wolverine. Logically the Wolverine got closer to attack. Commando fired and only a few hits in the legs and arms. And then Wolverine hit with 8 points of damage on the 6 points head armor. It was not my day. When dice want you to die, then you die. Trial of annihilation.
