just starting to watch, and you're really missing out on meteors. Their damage over time is insanely good. Could have made short work of corpsefire. i did a full HC SSF playthrough on the 2.4 phoenix strike sin a few months ago

Absolutely. I run a phoenix sin for MF'ing (because it's fun) and meteor just shreds bosses like nobodies business. It's not useful for general mobs that are typically dead before meteor drops - that's what 2nd and 3rd charge is for, but meteor is indispensable for killing bosses. The upside to phoenix sins is that immunities mean absolutely nothing to you.

this is my favorite build for the actual feel of playing it. every encounter feels higher stakes bc im not relying on setting traps i like trying to make things work that aren't just "the best build"- i find that boring however, i hit a wall trying to get my sin through the end of nm and beginning of hell

Feels like if he'd just farmed every spot like Countess, Andariel, Lower Kurast, Mephisto, and so on, for a few times each, he would end up beating Hell faster than spending half an hour on the Ancients then dying to a random hit because his resistances were still in the negatives / single digits

@1:23:41 you wonder how long it takes to farm a LEM Rune: i got mine in NM Hellforge lucky but stupid lost it to a Mechanik Slot Armor THEN it took me 8 hours farming Hell Countess to get only FAL runes to cube them to one LEM so dam long i almost erased my offline Char! That Treachery Mage Plate i crafted helped out when it came to resistances but crippled my faster run walk ... but the tankiness is really good

Id like to remind everyone that this is a martial arts sin post buff. It was even more miserable than this. I did a playthrough pre buff and it was extremely difficult to kill the ancients. She takes so much damage. Very very squishy in hell.

Lake of using cloack of shadows. It makes play so much easier. When i hear "This is not bad character" it really hurts me, because she is really strong character, but should be used in the right way

Missed opportunity to call these guided SLAYthroughs....tsk tsk

I like the video, proof martial arts Assassin sucks and needs to be revamp badly 😂 I love the Assassin early on but half thru NM gets horrible and never feels good again. Just want Assassin to be fun to play, so much potential.

Damage probably need to be tripled at least. Also attack rating of all melee classes should be reworked. The attack rating is especially bad for martial art. Frenzy barb gives (230%+100% attack rating from lvl20 frenzy and lvl10 sword mastery). Zealot gives (200%+160% attack rating for lvl20 zeal and fanaticism). In comparison, phenox strike only gives (only 200% attack rating at lvl20). Leveling claw mastery for only attack rating (Enhanced damage is irrelevant for elemental) is way too much of a waste when phenoxy strike has many synergy to begin with... where as other melee builds don't really need synergy.

Melee characters in general are just more gear/level dependent. If you can beat it ssf with a fist barb, you can beat it with a martial arts assassin.

Llama on nightmare: 'the damage is good look at her she's not bad'. Llama on hell: kills 5 monsters total and rest just walks around because he can't kill anything.

Pretty sure he didnt change back to P1 at least by 22 mins in when someone asked

You can just read what Phoenix Strike does and tell it's gonna suck. It's a terrible build. Claws of Thunder build is a very good build tough. Using Dragon Claw as finisher for double procs of Claws of Thunder instead of Dragon Tail makes it so much faster for getting off max charges. Use dual-Plague +3 Claws of Thunder for weapons. And the corpse explosion from traps makes this build A tier.

Anyone else bothered that he didn't ID that small charm in his cube at the end? It could have been anything! There could have been a Jah stuck on the backside!

The only problem with a MA sin is they require level 45+ skills and you need to level each elemental claw and use them all in conjunction. It is better to release tier 3 charges on repeat using an auto attack theb dumping the magazine with a kick. That way you can continously spam chaos lightning, ice and those METEORS Continously releasing tier 3 elements is stronger than having to restack

If you use dual claws you get two charges per attack for the dedicated fire, cold and lightning skills. Use dragon claw to release two charges at once and you have twice the dps of the method you described. Only works for the skills to the far left of the skill tree though. Edit: Just saw that you specifically talpedagog about phoenix strike, sorry:)

That's definitely not the only problem with MA assassins. The damage sucks, for all that much setup required. A 3-charge phoenix strike being unleashed all at once should straight up wipe out the whole screen of monsters, instead it kind of tickles them.

D2​ should separate charm inventory from item inventory .

hell is really difficult

Always skill a shadow clone for a quick meat shield that doesn't cost 50k gold.

I think most people would be ok with you using some low runes during the play through. It would be nice to see how the character plays with just a LEM rune added to the mix.

@@Tumasch I am using a sheal socketed Buriza. I can reliably kill NM Andy and Meph on /players 3, but with 200 MF I'm not getting anything. I just beat Act 1 Hell on /players 1. I'm currently farming Hell Pits for a base to make Obedience (though I still need a Fal rune and running Hell Countess is barely doable for me). Even Hell Pits is a 50/50 on whether I can clear it or not.

@@Pops_Palmer To me it ounds like you are doing all the right things. You got Cannot be frozen, right? Buriza is OP for the druid. I would roll a nice NM andariel map and run her over and over again with that 200 MF. On P3 you got 1:872 for a ribcracker, for instance and upgrade it into stalagtite. That CB will make killing bosses much faster. I would also consider an upgraded Bonesnap, stuff like that. Heck, even an Insight in a elite base. Obedience is also awesome, if you get ias on other gear. Try to cube the fal, shouldn't be too difficult. Fury druid can effectively use some many weapons it isn't funny. 2-handed axes, polearms and hammers are insane on him. You just have to be patient. Playing with a non-teleporting melee character, you will literally need a month to beat the game. I think I used about 3-4 weeks on my barb. But at the end I even got enough for a grief PB and a CoH. The game will reward you if you show patience. You can't really play like Llama here, he has to rush it for the content, you must take your time. I believe in you and your druid!

@@Tumasch I have Darksight Helm on currently for cannot be frozen. I've been trying to get a Raven Frost from NM Meph for ages with no luck. I have all the runes for Obedience now, I've been running Hell Pits to try and get a base, but it's slow going and 1\3 runs I die or can't complete the pits due to certain elite packs. I do have an upped Bonesnap. I was getting my CB for Rattlcage, but just switched to Smoke for the resistance. Maybe I'll try the Bonesnap again.

@@Pops_Palmer Darksight isn't bad, but maybe it's better you get a druid pelt or maybe a rockstopper/gaze variant (damage reduction) and get your CBF from the death's set (like Llama tried to get). It is an easy drop from normal cow king. If you have a fixed map, it is easy. You up the belt to get more slots and the glove and belt combo gives your loads. For armor I also always go with Smoke at the end, although Naj's Plate was a close second most of the time. Don't feel bad about pit, it is NOT an easy area, the archers can really hurt. Maybe try the Mausoleum near the graveyard, it can also drop all items but is much safer, no archers. Other than that I don't see any "glaring mistakes" I just think you need some more luck. Farm some of the easier areas, get some experience and the rest will follow.

The multiple deaths in a row in the beginning (even if played by a veteran player) and the low damage done is a perfect example that this game is still so unbalanced and that too much builds that should be fun to try are still a pain in the butt to play... Getting better, but sadly still a hammerdin or sorceress game.....

This is the core game experience. Us stomping everything with a hammerdin is an anomaly. WIth a melee character you HAVE to play it slow, farm lower difficult locations for a couple of day, maybe weeks, then can you beat hell. Hell was supposed to be a challenge, and it's nice that it still is. Just not with those few cookie cutter builds.

It won't have much effect. Terror zones only activate after you kill Baal in that difficulty. It'll only slightly help with leveling up after beating normal/nightmare, but usually the density is so low in normal/nightmare that you're probably better off just running Baal in that difficulty.

trapsins and elemental melee assassins like this would have been great if the new 2.5 changes weren't presented. But yeah, why would we like to play good builds besides hammerdins and blizsorcs. Thanks to you llama - killer of diversity!

You ruined the new ladder before it even dropped.

This is not a playthrough, it's a rushthrough with a lame build. No AR, no resistances, no minimal decent gear, insufficient leveling, almost dying to every single trash mob and struggling to kill a simple zombie. Took almost 1 hour to kill the Ancients. It's a showcase of how not to have fun with this game. A miserable experience from beginning to end. Don't take me wrong Llama, a like a lot your content, but I strongly recommend you rethink the formula of these playthroughs. Maybe a much more slower approach, suspending your speedrunner mindset a bit and taking enough time to get stronger, kill monsters (the game is about that) and playing in a more meaningful way.

I'll be honest i didn't like this playthrough in hell. A playthrough is supposed to showcase what a build can do and by skipping things like treachery, wisdom, etc. you just wind up walking and cheesing the game which you can do with any character.

So painful to watch...

this looks miserable...every monster is like killing Diablo...bout as much fun as a funeral...lol

Tried it for myself. Hitting such massive snags in act 3 hell that, as you you said yourself "every mob is like fighting diablo" What a pain. It was powerful for so long too.

This isn't a build showcase; it's a challenge run. And it looks miserable to play as. Thanks - I'm convinced to never run this "build."

This is not a playthrough, it's a runthrough. Watched for 10min only saw 1 monster get killed - Duriel. MA Assassin sucks and it will continue to suck - thanks.

Cold sunder charms will completely kill Diablo making it pointless to play.. Unless you're a cold sorceress.. Diablo 2 finally installed the green and red arrows... i still don't get why people are happy

Now all you have to do is drink 30,000 gold worth of thawing potions. Boom no need for gear the only other character that gains this much power without penalty is a summon necro with corpse explosion and a physical sunder. The penalty won't affect your summons

@@SentryxVoid i'm a summon necro you think i would love the physical sunder. the problem isn't me it's the meta... after madden 18 i sold my playstation. i played football 10 months straight 14 hours a day. there comes a point where the game gets saturated with people that just cheat the game. then the game died because the MUT auction house was saturated and the price of everything dropped People couldn't be this lazy or unskilled before and have this capability of farming... the price of everything is about to drop

Notice how he brought up the point of Sunder Charms and then cut himself off. He was on last night, bragging about being the guy to ruin them. I want to ruin him. Find his games, jump him. Ruin his speed runs. Camp his body so he can't get his shit. Silent treatment on the forums. This clown needs to be deplatformed and to go get a real job. There are people who aren't wastes of skin, who work full time, and don't have an army of chuckleheads feeding them loot.
