Let's Play: Chain of Command - A Hasty Defence

For more Let's Plays check out:
www.beastsofwa...
This time we get John to provide a Hasty Defence against the German blitzkrieg in Chain of Command from TooFatLardies.
The Hasty Defence scenario is one from the new Blitzkrieg 1940 book for Chain of Command and, to John's delight, will feature a couple of armoured fighting vehicles!
Does John deserve the Légion d'Honneur or a straight jacket?

I love the way this guy explains the game. In other Lets plays it's often two people who know the rules inside out doing what they do with little regard for the audience. This guy really explains what's going on. Helpful for no nothings like me.

The Panzer III served through the whole war as well, but the Pz.IV was the only german tank to see PRODUCTION throughout the entire war. Never stopped making them, and eventually started churning out Stugs built from Pz.IV hulls as well

Brilliant demo game. Keep them coming - they are an inspiration. I did not understand why the British kept charging the Germans, and feel either standing their ground (forcing the Germans to attack) or even gradually pulling back (buying time) would have been a better strategy - but that French tank was amazing so, “Vive la France”

Always love Chain of Command let's plays. Finally Rich put a stop to the Beastsofwar juggernaut. Hopefully next time Rich beats Justin. One thing though. And correct me of I am wrong. According to the rulebook a (mmg) team can only provide covering fire when activated by a leader (roll of 3 or 4) not by a roll of 1. Rich does this a couple of times. Maybe a Blitzkrieg special rule?

Also can the next battle be: SP - American Civil War or 7 Year War CoC - lets see some soviet on German action or maybe a after war Yank vs Soviet game.

The young guy was talked into setting up his machinegun in line of sight instead of the building to his left where he could have still shot the same squad he shot and would be out of direct fire from that panzer 4. The French tank could have set still and shot main gun and machinegun. then he could have brought in the first sgt to get the machinegun to fire again. He could have slaughters that squad hiding behind the building.

Not sure if the rules were being played correctly but if they were there is one thing that doesn’t seem right to me. It was where the MMG was firing suppression at the house forcing the defenders to keep their heads down reducing their ability to fire back. But the squad was also firing to kill on the suppressed team - in reality they would have nothing to shoot out as the target would be cowering out of sight.
