I'm not a fan of the zombie stuff in general, but man I LOVE this game.

100% agreed - this game has something special, no other „zombie“ game has.

I saw a play through of the first edition of this game several years ago and thought it was a cool looking co-op. Thanks for the play through of the second edition, Markus!

I liked it when you said, "It's all water under the bridge." Very thematic for Venice! lol Great stuff thanks, Markus. Not the best of luck with the item cards. Hope the characters get some good upgrades next turn.

Thanks, Paul and yes, if there is something that Venice needs, it's more water under its bridges :-D

Thanks very much for the playthrough! Was heady to get a sense of the mechanics for the game. Sounds like the US/Canada orders are getting closer so really excited for this one and for more playthroughs on your channel.

I remember this game first being promoted over 5-6 years ago. Looks very similar to what was to be Kickstarted.

Yeah, they actually announced a second edition quite a while ago before they actually launched their campaign and THEN it has taken them some time to deliver it. But here it is and I am a happy camper :)

The Captain's Night Ability works wherever the Order Token is placed. It may be the same location as the Captain but not necessarily. This is one of the differences from the first edition. 35:30 You HAVE to place all of your barricades from your Storage. 42:00 The Captain has to play its Order at the start of the Activation phase (as if he was the first player). This Order takes effect immediately then the players play in turn.

Thanks much, Thierry! Really need to do some re-reading about Capitan Spaventa. In the first edition he was always first, so I guess the question wouldn’t have come up then… But I guess they had to change this a bit, because if he is last (like for me), it may render his special ability useless at times…

I have done some reading and not 100% sure about the Captain's orders... The Community Wiki says it's still triggered at the start of HIS activation. You even asked this on KS and it was confirmed this way if I understood correctly...!? I already played it wrong in my (upcoming) part 2 though :-D

  • @MrMrFearghal

@@realjplay Yeah, the rules say "At the start of each Night Hour Activation" and Jocularis says "By the way, having Spaventa as last Character, doesn't make useless its Orders. His Orders are activated instantly at the beginning of his Activation, so they could be even more useful at the end of the turn, after that everyone else acted, maybe to resolve some problem that arose because of the Pile of Corpses or to remove some Paranoia affecting a Character, as an example." So, if I understand well, the token may be placed in ANY space but only at Capitan's activation. The reference sheet is misleading.

  • @realjplay

It’s very confusing the way it’s worded but is consistent to all other night abilities at least then… But still I would have him always go first then I guess.

@@realjplay If you play him following the reference sheet, that is placing the order token just before the activations and applying its effect immediately, you can still place the captain in any order of the turn.. So the order must be placed and applied first, then the players make their activations as usual, the captain making his own actions in his turn. It's how I understand the rule.

Thanks for your comment! Do you mean the printed cubes for the wounds, barricades etc.? If so - those were add-ons as part of the campaign. Not sure if you still can get those. Maybe try to reach out to Albe Pavo (the publisher), they might still have some supplies left!?

If you are ok controlling 6 characters, basically playing 6-handed (or rather 12), you should be good. But as there is not so much book-keeping in this one, I would say it's definitely manageable. Definitely easier than playing 4 characters with "Eldritch Horror" or so ;-)
