I sympathize with you as someone who isn't the biggest fan of the new baking mini games either. Never played chill town, but it looks like my cup of tea so I'll definitely put it on my wishlist!

It's nice to know I'm not the only one missing the way the baking used to work in this game. I know a lot of people wanted it to be more interactive.. but I fail big time now. xP
