I just got a set about a week ago. I really do love painting with them. For me, there’s definitely a learning curve. They behave quite differently from all of my other watercolors.

Yes, they are great, and they do have their own character, but when you get the hang of them they are so rewardingly bright and vibrant!

Such a cute, whimsical bird. I actually love the big eye, it is the focal point which drives the personality. ❤

I am so amazed at the crazy variety of birds you can paint! Since I LOVE birds, it fascinates me. I’m building up to purchasing paints and not hating myself when they look horrible, 😂. @@DianeAntoneStudio Hello my friend! I am in the mountains, about 4,000 ft elevation. Years ago we got lots of snow in the winter, but recent years, droughts and all, it’s uncommon to get this much! Sure hope it brings our water table up! I’m trying to catch up on lessons/challenges so I have something to post on FB. Keep up all your wonderful ideas that keep us painting…..(and off the streets 😄😄😄)…just kidding! XOXOX❤️

I love this bird with the cheerful colours!! It's also great to see you use the Kuratake set. I will paint it soon. We have an ice day off today from school. 😉 I only have black Inktense pencil so I will do the whole picture in watercolour.

Love it, so colorful! I love the rooster in the back ground it was funny that he decided to chime in on your video. I really enjoy your stories of the animals on the farm. You have taught me a lot on getting out of trying to paint the perfect version to more of a whimsical style, which has been so great to help me just relax and enjoy painting.

I would recommend going over the inktense with a wet brush, it becomes permanent when dry. Just a thought. Love your fun videos. ❤️

Great point! Maybe you missed the parts in the video where I did that. It’s amazing how intense the colors are when they are wetted.

Good grief. Yes, I must have zoned out during that part. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thank you for your kind reply to my mistake. I so enjoy your videos, I fully expected you to be the next Prime Minister. 😀

It’s 4am my time…my hours are so messed up. Had to go spend a few days in the hospital…pain in the neck. I need a new body…😂. Anyways, slept most of the time in the hospital..Liz says that proves I was sick…no, just tired. Got home last night, been trying to catch up with cleaning..and Dr. Kitty Leela has been smothering me with love (and her shedding long ginger hair…). Anyways, going to go paint..need to do another layer on my Gongbi, but want to do something fun to warm up…either this or the kitties. OHOHOH!, INKTENSE! They worked on my..once, white sneakers! I wanted to do kind of a stained glass..different shapes, outlined with…crap, a fine liner micro…whatever they’re called. Filled in, “painted” inside w the inktense, then when it was dry, I went back with black puff paint over the fine liner. My daughter had tried it and said it’s definitely permanent! Trying to think of other things I can do…thinking of some pillowcases…just some flowers on the edges…

I have the same pad, same paint, but my paper is buckling, and the colors are not mixing. Too much water I suppose, and wrong brush... Hummm...😮 😂

He reminds me of my parrot, but his beak is bigger, and goes into a very rounded upwards bit on his top beak.. …I showed him this picture, and ask his opinion, (and anytime he is happy or likes something, he says… “Let’s eat ice cream!”… which he said, when I showed him! .I taught him that, ….He is a rescue bird, and older, but most of his words are Italian in a man’s voice!… Some one named him Alfredo….( unfortunately, he cusses like a Sailor!!) That’s what my mother in law would say when my husband… Whi when came home from the Service, he had picked up the habit of both cussing and drinking beer, now and then🤦‍♀️😂. ….Nothing wrong with a bit of alcohol. …but my Mother in Law was a “tea totaler” And …lucky for me I have always hated the taste of all alcohol ( so she” “approved” of me🤷‍♀️🤣)…
