They're not rock crystal. They're glass beads. Pool of light beads (the rock crystal ones) will show writing the right way up. Glass beads will show writing upside down.

I loved it all! About the earrings you said are pools of light, I own and collect pools of light jewelry. To be considered true pools of light there can be no holes made into the quartz crystal ball. Look up Victorian pools of light jewelry and they’re all wire wrapped onto or around the quartz crystal balls. No holes can be drilled in the quartz at all for it to be considered true pools of light. They’re beautiful either way. I just wanted to help everyone learn what to look for to find and recognize true pools of light in the wild❤️

I hv a lot of similar things from being a teen in the late 80s. Sooo cool ❤❤ made me nostalgic

The heart shaped pendant with the etched ship on it is called Scrimshaw. Sailors made them with bits of whale bone for their girlfriends.

The earrings with the glass ball beads are just that - glass. True pool of light jewellery are made of rock crystal, and any writing seen through them will be the right way around - NOT upside down. But they are still very pretty though.
