    For reference, I think the golden rule for water storage is you need 3 units of water / per beaver / per day. So for 40 beavers over a 5 day drought, you’d need 600 units stored at a bare minimum, usually extra to be safe

    → Paper and books are now folktails-only, I think. → For explosives you don't need extract, just 5× badwater. You just need extract for the extra powerful dynamite. (Though I guess the explosives factory still needs metal.) → I'd suggest to increase the levees in front of the soy beans, to avoid flooding there. → Maybe create another (deeper) water reservoir downstream of the mangrove forest, so you can pump from there and don't dry up the mangroves periodically?

    @@JCTheBeard I was thinking about suggesting placing a water dump for the hole just above to the mangroves, next to the river... might keep a few of them constantly growing and bearing fruit..

    exciting! the only problem i foresee with your badwater spillway is most of those trees will die due to the ground contamination but I think it may be a better idea to move all your trees down to the lower terrace anyway. plant more trees!!!!! :)

    Tree farming is going to gradually move down to the bottom and become mostly oaks, so you're right on there!

    the "line of sight" of the forester depends on the distance with regular tiles, it doesn't need to be a path placed, also, the stairs counts as 2 tiles

    I am blocking berries spread right at the beginning with paths. Surround them berries and place paths wherever you want to build later, like the levees by the river. 😉

    I think that eventually (when you have dynamite), you want to make sure the badwater-extract-channel is on (max) the same height as your water sources, as you will now always still have partially contaminated water as soon as one cycle of badwater comes along. Sure, you can dillute it a lot before opening the floodgates (and I'm not worried about it getting more potent due to fuzzy homeopathy logic), but still it would be nice to be able to completely drain the reservoir of all the contaminated water before opening the the floodgates again for clean water.

    You could build a small levee box at the bottom of the waterfall that is slightly wider than the current channel and put 3 pumps on top of the waterfall to pump water from the box. An added positive thing of that I that you could pump water out of the box during droughts, if you make it lager and deeper then absolutely necessary.

    you could make a small, but deep pool right after the waterfall effectively moving it out a few spaces to let 2 of your "liquid pumps" not dry out the mangrove trees every drought and so you dont run out of pumpable water near as easily. would take quite a few logs building all those levees that high, but nice simple answer to a couple realistically small problems on normal difficulty

    started a game with this update last night. thought it kinda fitting to just go to the plains map since i havent been back there since my first time playing the game. only playing normal difficulty too, but still having fun with all the new iron teeth stuff and the bad water mechanics

    You will be pleased to know the four block water dump doesn’t work. They’ve changed the mechanic of how water irrigates not through blocks.

    I use the last building, 1x3... It dose not hold the most for beavers but you get more with a few of them in the space of 1 big home.

    Just playing this right now! I conquered the badtide cycle by building flood gates that seal off my drinking water and dump the badtide straight out from the source, didn’t think about just using the height to run off, I built 1 block flood gates! Doh!

    Look forward to you interacting with the bad water. I played the game a bunch this morning to try this out myself and had a lot of fun with it. First bad water cycle on Hard mode I had, it wiped me out, that stuff is no joke!

    A masterclass in early game management! Loving this series already. I'm not sure about reducing the kholrabie crop area, when there is so much land next to the cassavas that are being wasted on blueberries... you know there's gonna be another food shortage coming at some point soon 🙃🦫

    time had not been kind to Bob, I have seen some of the newer Bob the builder episodes with my daughter and I hope I can forget them soon... it was made in that kind of cheap-looking 3D animation that Disney channel used to make in 2010s (but I can't say how recent it was)

    Found this series/channel a little while ago... love the content. So you are the first I've seen that's changed water tank settings for optimizing haulers/pumps... Can you explain how that works? I've tried looking online and can't find an explanation for it but you seem to understand it. Most of my YT Timberborn experience is RCE and well we know it's all high priority and pure lucky brute force... lol!

    Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! I'd love to tell you exactly how prioritization works, but I'm afraid I don't really understand it either. All I know is that if a storage container is prioritized, then haulers will go to that one first to either find or deposit items depending on what mode the building is set to. A combination of plenty of haulers as well as production buildings AND storage all prioritized by haulers really helps to keep production going since the workers in those buildings don't have to constantly leave to carry their goods somewhere. Or at least that's what my experience has been. I think the prioritization system in this game really could use a complete overhaul that would allow different degrees of prioritization, or that would allow individual hauling posts to be assigned to specific buildings. The whole "all or nothing" approach to prioritization very easily causes issues if you get it even slightly wrong.

    So figured out; make your own green space. From complete non green space cause the bad tide fungs the shui. MAKE THE FARMS with the fluid dumps or you die Trees can make it barely Just my quick play through info

    dynamite through the badtide diversionary, to make sure that 100% of all of the badwater gets emptied out and doesnt contaminate the good stuff? Since dynamite just needs badwater to make now, it should be doable.

    They take the place of a drought, but in theory they're much worse because they turn the entire incoming water supply into poison. If you manage to engineer a complete diversion of all incoming water the the badtides become essentially a non-issue. It's easier said than done on some maps - this one happens to be one of those where that kind of thing is easy to accomplish.

    14:50 I am sure I said to build them right in front of the water source so you don't store much bad water... Yeah, triple floodgates would be better, however, until you blast a channel out of the edge of the river to the height of the water source blocks, you could use a levee block and a double floodgate or even stack two levee blocks and use 3 single flood gates... But i like to see the world burn too so

    Except due to changes you can't blast anything until you start collecting bad water and then process it into explosives(they no longer use paper)

    @@crowaust yeah, that's why you put in the double gates on a levee block… its higher than the edge of the cliff by a block… Then, later, when you have explosives, you can blast a gap 3 blocks down and add a triple gate on the left side off the cliff… So you don't contaminate your freshwater, the way JC is doing it results in 16 blocks of bad water polluting his freshwater until he has explosives for the channel If he did it much tighter to the water source it would only be 2-4 blocks worth of bad water to cleanse

    So I might be wrong but I think you destroyed all your mangrove storage when you were moving stuff and never replaced any.....no room for fruits soon I think.
