Good for you for advocating for cooked-through (or near cooked-through) burgers. If you do them right, they will have the best texture, and won't be dry at all! PS: that Monterey Jack is actually Colby Jack cheese. PPS: Mustard does not belong on a burger. Save that for your hot dogs.

Hey Johnny, when cooking with an SNS without the Weber oval indicators, what temp should the grill get to before putting the patties in for cooking with the indirect heat? I followed your instructions and patties came out greatbut a little overdone, wondering if I had the temp too high. I think the grill was over 450f when I first put them in and half closed the top vent, then the temp went down slowly from there while they cooked for the initial 10 minutes. Maybe I should have got the temp down first. Thanks as usual for the great content!

Hey Hey, Thanks. I didn't think about that until I was editing. I tried to show it in the video but the juices were very slightly pink to clear. When you let you patty get like that there is very little color left in the cross section. I like my burgers medium well going into well. Which... I know is not popular... but hey, it is what I like for a burger.

Hello Eric. I apologize but I would not grill frozen patties.
I thought toasting brioche buns directly over the hot coals like that was my secret. I like mine just a tiny bit more dark than the one you pulled off for the camera, but the flavor is phenomenal. My favorite toasted brioche bun burger is a quality patty like you have there (I buy the Wahlburger patties), caramelized onions made a little red wine, and crumbled blue cheese.

i was thinking about buying a power washer to clean the grates on my grills. this citrusafe thing is new to me. ill try that first.
@Viewtoagrill
Жыл бұрын
Hey John. The CitruSafe is really just meant to clean the grill... not restore to "like new". If your grates are really bad you may just want to buy a new set... and then keep them clean with CitruSafe. Also if they are bad you can try burning them off first with a hot fire and let all the gunk turn to ash... then clean them.

Just found you on YT . Watched your chicken wing video and ordere the thermometer to clip on the grill - great tip - thank you. Do I do three batches of 6 burgers and underook the first two batches and throw them in a warm oven tiil all are ready ??!! thank you
@Viewtoagrill

I have a "Forward Sear" video. I would cook them that way and as they were ready I would move them to the indirect side. When they are cooked and srunk a little you should be able to fit 9 on the indirect side and do two batches of 9.

@Viewtoagrill
Жыл бұрын
Well... incase you didn't know. There is a whole argument as to which vegetables go on top of the burger patty or under the patty... supposedly, lettuce goes under because heat rises to the top and wilts the lettuce... but, who let's thier burger sit around long enough for that to happen?
@mmsb13_420
Жыл бұрын
@@Viewtoagrill Nope, never knew that about the lettuce on top. . . but I agree, my burger would be eaten long before any lettuce wilts! 😋😁
Forward sear or this way Johnny? Got a preference?
@Viewtoagrill
Жыл бұрын
Thin patties I would rather forward sear.. thicker patties use this method. Since I like my Pattie’s the way I do, I can afford the extra time in the grill. I also think it helps to prevent the Pattie’s from puffing up in the middle.
What already formed lol I’m gonna have to try that brand of steak
