I had the privilege to saw Pink Floyd here in Athens Greece back in 1987. The stage equipment they brought for their multimedia show was 14 double tracks which their accompanying them on their European Tour. There were arround 75.000 attendants at this show and I saw ages from 3-4 to 65 - 70. The most stunning part of their unique show was the end . 75.000 people walking out of the stadium and u could hear a needle drop. Everyone was mesmerized about what their witnessed that day and a big silence was spread among us. Helios.

As you mentioned Sam Brown and her solo career, she did have a couple of songs which reached into the UK top 10 and possibly a no 1 ,unfortunately after this tour ( this performance was the last one of a world tour) she developed nodules on her vocal chords which finished her singing career, I'm glad that I managed to see the previous night's performance, for many, many reasons, unforgettable experience.

This particular performance was on the Sunday night, the stand collapsed on the previous Thursday night, those people who were in the H block received a special package which included a backstage pass with a meet and greet with the band ,every cloud as they say, lucky so and so's as I say.

Pablo Light Show was an early user of gels and such to achieve psychedelic effects for rock bands and such, and were, at times, included within the advertising for the act. I seem to recall hearing that Canned Heat with Pablo Light Show was to be performing. But this concert here is indeed a masterclass on lighting and production. Just breathtaking.

Not sure I have much insight into why your views aren't higher. Your format is unique in a number of ways, which obviously resonates with some people and not others. I am still in touch with a girl I went out with when I was 18, a lot of water has been under the bridge since those days. The one thing she said though that had impact was "do you remember when we went to see Pink Floyd"? I have no recollection at all, I suspect it was mistaken identity but the uncertainty has poisoned my mind. We are both in our mid 60s now and next time we walk our little dogs on the beach together I will have to grill he about it! Pink Floyd allegedly used copper vapour lasers for this performance, a first outside of military applications. The sheer emotion of Gilmour's guitar still gets me after all these years. Incidentally the disco ball has been said to be significant, a snipe at record companies insisting that dance music was mandatory for success at the time.

Was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd a few times, this show, The Wall, at Earl's Court, and the first time on the Animals tour. Always phenomenal. Varilites were, if i remember, partially conceived by Genesis, and used on their "mirrors" tour of, I think, 1978/79. I don't know if they still have anything to do with them or in what way they were affiliated. All I know is that prior to them, Genesis had to use massive amounts of lights to achieve what they wanted, including Boeing 747 landing lights used on the "Trick Of The Tail" and the "Wind and Wuthering" tours of 1976/77. (The front cover of "Seconds Out" shows them off well). I well remember the heat off of them if you were near the front of the stage. When i was younger and played live myself, we used to use 10 500 watt PAR cans for lighting, and the heat from them was incredible. As for your format, I, myself, love it, so, no need to change IMHO. Keep up the great work!

Nothing wrong with you Jim, nothing at all. Sometimes it takes time. Can't put the finger on why you have a slow growth of the channel. The good thing is it is growing. You are in UK rather than USA that may have some impact but i know you have followers from USA too. You are a likeable person and make people welcome, so it don't think it's about you. I know subscribers and likes are the bread and butter of you tube algorithms so it does matter to you to some extent. I would just carrying on being you, JP mentioned about his reaction channel and says that he is happy that his channel is growing slowly. It may be connected to how many videos a channell puts out in a day but you are doing as much as you are able to do domestically. Another thing may be that you concentrating on more obscure bands (which is good to get bands recognised) but the fact the larger audience is with the bigger bands, so maybe throw in a few more bands that are well known but not well known to you (or an album you haven't played yet. You have connections with other reaction channels ask what they do! Finally, for me I'm happy for you to just be yourself and play what you want to play. However, there's always those you tube numbers to gain traction on you tube.

I’m really happy with the channel and the pleasure it seems to bring people, but for the work that goes into it, I can’t help but wonder why others achieve so much more with seemingly less effort! What else could I do?? But then, I shouldn’t try chasing numbers, because then I lose the unique flavour of what the channel is about!

'Why are vapes so popular amongst schoolkids?' 'Why are the popular politicians so obviously awful people?' The answer is that the world has moved on and, if you're not under 25, then it'll take a miracle to move outside your particular niche. Now, that's not a criticism or a plea for change but just an acceptance that none of us are getting any younger and the current Gen Zers will be lamenting the same fact in 30 (probably fewer) years. Look at the BBC - they spend so much time and money chasing Gen Z that they alienate us oldies that are desperate to stick with them. Don't change, Jim. Be happy with your 25K and they'll be happy with you!

I'm not likely to change, I'm far too invested in enjoying the channel for what it is and the slow organic growth is satisfying to see. I guess it's a stronger foundation that's taken time to build than a shaky one built on sand that some of these huge channels seem to be. I'll keep on being me!

I then know which bands to go for. People just can’t be bothered to subscribe. They’re part of the hamburger generation as we call them in the Netherlands; they only want to consume as much as possible for the least effort as possible. Best live guitar solo ever played. Pink Floyd is and will always be my most favorite band. Ayreon second and Nightwish third. Do you know the Remember that night live concert by David Gilmour where David Bowie performs this song? However, the team Waters puts together does a fantastic job on this track, as well as the rest of the show. My understanding is that Waters show is very close to the show Floyd did for the original tour.

part 2 And the third is, that you and most of us are curious about new music, so you react to lots of unknown music and we follow you, but I bet most of youtube watchers never click on a name they don't know. In addition to that, your format of listening to complete albums is very rare ... we like it, but the majority, especially the younger ones, don't have an attention span that lasts longer than 5 minutes, so don't expect them to listen to an epic 7 - 20 minute track and for sure not to a whole album. So you asked for some massage of your ego ? I think I can say that we, the most faithful subscribers and commentators love the channel and you just the way, how and which music you present. So if you enjoy it as much as we do .... just go ahead and don't change anything 🤘 PS: this is a great song 🤘🤘

Jim, Some of the other channels play a more basic rock n roll for every day listening. Airplay Beats have not been at it long but earned lots of subscribers by playing the whole Led Zep catalog in order. You give listeners on your channel a more varied side of music, I'm surprised some of your videos havent gotten more views, I thought for sure The Doors would get more views. I believe you have a bigger worldwide audience. Walt

Hmm. What is driving your numbers? Hmm. Well I can only speak for myself that it would only be the content. I really enjoy your analysis, your honesty, and your attention while listening. But for myself, I go for the music I like or have heard before. A lot of the music in the channel lately has been new music to me. So if you want an idea to work with well maybe perhaps sprinkle some classics in every once in awhile. Not the total give in to popular old stuff, but just some older things. I love the channel. I’m a subscriber but I don’t jump on the stuff I’ve never heard of too much. I mean don’t give in all the way because you have a nice thing going on that’s different and refreshing. Just add some “older” music here and there.

I thought the balance was about right, so sorry for that. To be honest, I think it's because I'm an older man who plays unfashionable music on videos that drag on for far too long for a modern audience! A sign of the times!

I’m a 57 yr old dude in the states. And I can only speak for what gets me excited. And it is the music that doesn’t get played on the other reaction video channels. I mean, you’ve done some outstanding work Jim. You have music I haven’t seen anyone react to. So bravo in that regard. My favorite of yours is when you did Chris Squire’s Fish Out of Water. Your reaction was priceless and wonderful to see towards the end. I am Very glad that you are pushing me into new music as that is when the great chemicals get released in my brain. You are golden really. I’m sure more and more people will keep subscribing. In a huge market of reaction bs, you do stand out nicely. It’s when you lose subscribers I would then assume there would be a problem.

I may subscribe if you play more Ren. looked at previous videos on your channel, mostly of artists I've been enjoying for 50+ years (I'm 70) Have a look at The Big Push videos for Live Nation during the Covid lockdown . Their fresh versions of some of the classics, as well as their original tracks are well worth listening to. I discovered Ren during lockdown and at last have found a young artist who has true talent. You made a video about his album going to nunber 1, but i dont see any reactions to the music on the album . You may not be a rap fan, as I'm not a fan of rap, unless it's done in Ren's animated style. If you react to him the Renegades will come to your channel and most of them will find the classic stuff you react to and share it too. Here's hoping.

You asked a question and I may have an answer. The reason you may not attract as many subscribers as some others is the wacky appeal. Hear me out…… Those with lots of subs tend to be the madcap channels whether music or otherwise. Scot is a great example, Mr Beast the ultimate. With respect, a steady Eddie who enjoys and understands the music and presents measured and appropriate commentary is not seen as appealing from the point of view of a subscriber but as a watcher (not a subscriber) then people will always watch but not necessarily hit that button. Again, with respect, I see you as a knowledgeable and appreciative person of musical reaction that will always be watched. I hope that makes sense and would suggest you don’t change as it doesn’t suit your persona. You could always test the theory?😂😂 Hope this helps. All the best. Dave✅✅

I don't like you Jim....Only kidding. I love a lot of the stuff you play. Some leaves me indifferent. Just a question of personal taste I guess. To me David Gilmour is one of my top 5 guitarists. However, I do prefer the version from Delicate sound of thunder. Lovely and concise. Keep up the good work mate. I saw them at the Lyceum in 69, Hyde Park @ 72 and Wembley 89.

It is the music / performers that get the mass audience interested and then YOUR personality that they react to......if they like your reaction they respond or otherwise move on. Once you have their vote it gets harder.......you have to keep them. lol I have seen great reactions to great music, but the first comment attacked the reactor / host for being fake.......and that kills the reaction for everyone, especially the reactors show.
