Let's learn this awesome Jimmy Page guitar lick.
Whilst prepping for a lesson I stumbled on this Jimmy Page guitar lick and thought to turn it into a lesson. Do you recognise the song it's come from? If you do let me know in the comments below.
I think it's important to have understanding and awareness when learning songs by other artists.
If you've watched some of my other videos or are a patron then you'll know I always encourage you to think about key and scale shapes. If you've got the bug to learn a song or a solo then you should definitely figure out why you like it so much and what makes it work, then you've got that for life and you can call upon it whenever you need it musically.
Enjoy the video.

@jackzeppelin4 I hear two different runs of this scale in the album version. One is shorter, resolving on the G String 2nd fret (A) and second is the one Sped showcases here which is a longer pentatonic run resolving on that open A string! Growing up it was always so much fun trying to make up different variations (I still do lol)

Nice lesson, though I think I'll be playing that a bit slower than you. Understanding the major/minor relative keys and how easy it is to switch between them is a great way to expand your range of licks very quickly. I can't remember if you've done a specific lesson on this before. My very tentative guess at the chord based on what I can see of your fingers and some scribbled scale diagrams and a quick strum is an inversion of F#m7 (F# A C# E).

I wasn't sure whether your fingers were on top three strings or the next three, surprisingly hard to be sure from that angle and my ears aren't quite as good as Dylan Beato's for recognising the notes played. Having checked my copy of The Guitar Players Chord Bible I can now see what you were playing. It's a fun game, you should keep it in. Thank you Mr. Spedding! I'm astonished by all the "misses" in the comments...at the risk of sounding boastful, I was like _Houses of the Holy_ right off the bat (key of A being a big part of the tell). Perhaps the major factor (for me) is simply being a Zep fan for so many years, one becomes very familiar with even micro slices of the guitar work (and vocals...and bass...and drums). :D IMHO, it's a tribute to Page as a _producer_ nonpareil--the "re-listening" value of their records--capturing the perfect performances that hold up to repeated listening. Formidable!

I'm not over the live stuff as many are so there's a solid chance he bust that lick out too. Like Knopfler does in Sultans and Waterline. But I was pulling it from a track off PG... that's your clue.

I don't know for sure ... ill go with Tea For One. Its the turn over he teaches really feels like its going around and around my picking hand wanted to go in circles too when i was practicing it. But ill say Tea for One because it was also the lick he played over the emtire neck so... im not positive but thats my best educated guess
