I worked for a company that had 120 of these laptop's , had to repair 8 all had the same problem, I am amazed you found it without the schematic or Sony's help ,great tech work ,my hat is off to you.

I love seeing how he over comes problems like this. Other people you see on KZread will harvest components off other devices and not really explain what is happening so you don't learn anything. I know you describe it as dodgy fixes in your other videos but I'd call them genius fixes. Very clever guy, best repair guy on KZread.

i always get amazed when Soren can find the problem when he doesn't even have a schematic to go by. He uses deductive reasoning to help narrow down the problem and is always successful. Amazing video.

In last one week I patiently watched most of your video's. Genius may not describe you. You are far above than genius. The one thing I could learn from you is that that you must be perfect in your basics. That's it. Your video's are Hitchcock movie movies. I see Sherlock Homes in you. Hollywood / Bollywood thriller are nothing in front of your ability to find the exact fault and icing on the top is how you give a solution to problem. Hats off !!! Very warm regards from India. PS: Just a bit curious... want to see how you put things back as the way you scatter the removed screws all over the table, it would be very interesting to see. Hope in next video you can demonstrate that ability as well.

It’s hilarious how many people give Sorin thumbs down for doing a real life repair. Just shows how old school and new generation is different. The new generation is affraid of smoke and us old fukers know when the smoke is out theirs no farting around now. It’s easier too fix.

Hi Sir and many many thanks for sharing all this. if possible please I need an information. I blown a backlight fuse on a ThinkPad T460S replacing the screen and not removing the batt ... As a emergency repair I just short the blown fuse (sony genuine fuse :) ) but I want replace it. now I know that is next to impossible to find a identical fuse , but can I use a generic 3A SMD fuse instead? (I`m not in repairing computers but I work in automotive electronics) many many thanks again and all the best
