Glad you shared a clip of it! Now I know.
being proud and happy about seeing the other hat isn't in the slightest bit conceited! you created something incredible and put it out into the world, and someone else got to create something incredible because of what you did. I bet they were so proud of their hat and grateful for your guidance. the world needs more people like you, sarah!

STOP the part of “I bet they were so proud of that hate” almost made me cry bc I pictured a person just sitting there holding the hat and being like “man, I love this hat :)”

Sarah did a great job! The hat turned out great!
Fun Fact: The dealer's hall is actually curated to avoid having too much of the same thing. Once you are accepted in, it's VERY hard to get your spot back if you decide to not go the next year. That's probably why there are so many unique booths mixed in to the ones you see at many other cons - they specifically look for people selling new things to accept to avoid having 20+ Anime merch or Glassware booths. My friends are vendors so they give me all the deets (we also get to skip the line lol )

Artist's Alley works v similarly, just smaller scale, at least here!
Heads up about Jon the cut out, he was actually moved to the hilton and the marriott that year to party with attendees at night. Fedex did replace him and thankfully took it as free advertisement. The model also was pretty ok about it as well, thankfully.

Oh i never knew that! And omg! I never knew the model knew it happened.
Business card Uno is actually genius. It's a fun game you can play while walking through the halls in between events and such and it's really supportive of the cosplayers. If I ever get the chance I would totally play this with my friends but none of us are at the point of having business cards yet. Also, this vlog was lovely to watch. Do you go to Dragon Con every year? It would be so cool to meet you in person!

@@SarahSpacemanwould you ever do another vlog of a con you've been to before? I've never been to one before and watching your vlogs are so fun! It would be cool to see how the same con will change each year.
Okay I actually watched this the other day but didn't get a chance to comment at the time - it's always SO nice to find a con vlog video that isn't just dizzying camerawork and people shouting inside jokes over each other. I love that you took the time to break down what y'all were doing each day and detail the unique stuff that happened along the way. And now I finally understand what the heck is going on with Dragoncon's location sitch. XD I've been wondering for AGES. (It looks like a VERY overwhelming convention.) Your Ranni turned out incredible, and I was over here like ;u; hearing that so many people recognized/complimented you. You deserve it, dude! And that eye tape hack?? boy oh boy that's gonna save me some hassle in the future, I just know it. Appreciate that you put just as much care into this vlogging video as you do your craftsmanship ones!

As a volunteer at DragonCon who works nights/overnights, I love seeing videos like this! I only get to see the nighttime stuff because I sleep all day and then work like 4PM-7AM so I miss out on a ton of stuff that happens 😅

Thank you for being a volunteer and helping make it possible!
I adore conversations and for two main reasons 1- the unspoken rule that you move if people are taking pictures with cosplays And 2- everyone is a massive nerd, no one at a convention isn’t a nerd so everyone somewhat gets along with each other
I'm actually making Ranni's cosplay based on your tutorial as well! I've had to redo many many steps for the hat because I messed up something along the way (totally my fault) but I'm really happy with how it's turned out so far : ') The big witch hat of my dreams is coming true. Thank you again for the tutorial. I hope I can show you your next baby soon lol

Thank you SO MUCH for showing how the hotels are laid out on the map! I thought they were all somehow connected to a massive convention center
YES!! JOHN!! I have never been to Dragon Con but my parents had gone every year since I believe 2014 to when covid started and we got the Virtual Dragon Con in 2020. But I remember my parents showing me a picture of John and how he progressed over the weekend XD
I'm from Italy and seeing dragoncon is making me a little bit jealous! Because here in Italy we have a lot of cons, but most of them are in historical little cities or big sheds, like Lucca Comics and Games the biggest con in Europe, and it's really strange watching this badass hotels full of people, it's just different but I really liked this vlog! :D

Thank you so much for making this vlog! I've always wanted to graduate up to Dragoncon, but had no idea what to expect. The scale shock of going to Katsu was A LOT to navigate and having a coherent (though my friends drunken stories are highly entertaining, but hardly informative 😅) explanation means a lot to me. Especially with an anxious husbando in tow. And bunny Ranni is amazing! 🙌🏾💙

Glad it was helpful! And oof yeah, ive done katsu, and its also rough, but I can 100% say dragoncon is soooooo many more people and so much more overwhelming than katsu.
I was honestly tearing up at how happy you were that your pattern had been used beautifully. There's nothing conceited about that; it was very sweet. I'm hoping to attend DragonCon next year, so this was really cool to see~

Finding your account and watching your videos has really inspired me to get back into cosplay and go back to anime cons. I started going when I was 13 or 14 and I've not been to one since I was probably 16 (I'm 31 now). People were always so kind and I miss the atmosphere. Maybe one day I'll get to run into you at a con. 🥰 It would be a dream come true.
As somebody from Georgia who has struggle to have the courage to go to cons, thank you for your channel. I love your videos ❤❤❤
Someday I will go to a cosplay convention. I thought I would have gone by now, as my son is old enough to enjoy it and not be overwhelmed, but life still finds ways to throw wrenches in plans. After seeing this video, I am once again motivated to go, life wrenches be darned!
I love all of this so much, truly hanging out was a highlight of the con

This was a really good vlog, very well put together and I quite enjoyed it! What an interesting, enormous convention!
I'm about to go to a con this December for the first time since 2018. This vlog sorta inspired me to document my con experience. I hope I'll manage to record everything. This is a fun watch!
Just found your channel and love it! I was at DragonCon 2022 and hope to go in 2023 as well!
I actually really enjoyed this vlog, I am not from US and never been to such huge con before, It really nice to see how they look like!
I absolutely love the cosplay! The bunny hat is so well-made and I adore the body paint,make-up and the outfit over-all!So glad you had fun there and cant wait for more uploads!
This is such a good vlog! I love watching con vlogs, especially before I go to a con. It gets me hyped up and I reminds me how much I love the community and cosplay 💕☺️
aaaaa this looked like so much fun, it was so nice to watch wile i drew. youre getting me all hyped for my cities tiny little comic-con im going to in a few months.
I'm glad you had a great time at dragon con. I've never been but maybe I can try and fit it into my budget next year.
Ahhh I didn't know that's what this con was all about! That's so exciting, I'm gonna try to be there this year and at AWA too! I worry it might be too much of an experience at around the same time, but as long as I can do some saving before then, things should be fine. Excited for what this year brings!
This was so fun to watch! Would absolutely love to see more vlogs 💚

Almost a year later and I'm so glad you posted this. I'm going to my first DragonCon this year after over 10 years of wanting to go and either not being able to afford it or not having the time, and after getting tickets for Christmas in 2019, then 2020 happened, then it was the same weekend as my first week of school for Grad School in 2021 and 2022 and I couldn't fly home. This was way more informative about what the experience is actually like and what people do there than the newbie guides I've read.
Appreciate you doing this vid, looking to go to DCon for the first time this year, also, all being well, would be the first time I'll have cosplayed at a con.
Dragon con is such a dream convention for me (aside from AX). Always dope to see videos from there and so glad y'all had fun ❤ Funny enough my out of state con adventure also was what got me sick too, hope you're feeling better by now tho 😆

We have skyways here in the twin cities :) very helpful in the winter! Can travel all around downtown areas without being in the cold it's so awesome! I thought you were in mn until you said Atlanta lmao ive never gone to a con but this makes me wanna go!
it's been TWO WHOLE HOURS since i began searching for the Toad singing Chandelier (yes i put the Pepper Insult in the search, it didn't appear)... *but* i watched several Toad versions of songs that I lost my voice and breath and cried at the floor after falling from the chair, all from laughing so hard I couldn't help myself. So, not only your video is once again fun to watch, it brought me a great time remembering this extremely stupid silly thing. Thank you, Sarah Spaceman, you are very cool person.
Sorry that covid got you, I loved this video! I hope you post more like it because I would 100% watch them!

Well I have another vlog about friday and saturday of holmat coming out TODAY so be on the look out!
If you are able-bodied, and you find yourself needing to pass from one side of the parade to the other, there *is* a hidden option. Go to the entrance of Peachtree Center Station on whichever side you're trapped on, take the escalator down to platform level, walk across the station, then come back up the other side. Unfortunately, this won't work if you're in a wheelchair, as there is no elevator on the Peachtree Center Mall side. Ask me how I know....
20:44 her hat creates a kinda sound barrier for the camera which is probably pretty useful because you don’t have to you for your camera to pick up the sound.

Love watching con blogs while working on my comp outfit. Purah is nearly done 👀
Your joy at seeing the other hat was so cute
I’m so excited to go to Dragon con next year. It will be one of the few conventions I go to, because I’ve never been to conventions before. And next year I’ve made it my goal to go to all of the ones that I can go to in Georgia. Obviously dragon con‘s gonna be like my final boss convention.
god those outfits are so cute
I've always wondered what Dragoncon was all about because my youngest son goes along with my youngest sister and her daughter and they always sound like they had a blast. I don't know what characters they go as , but I'm seeing my sister and niece this weekend and will be asking them. Who knows, I might even come to one since I've been wanting to make a Skyrim costume and a fairy costume (I know, two different things but hey, I like to design stuff, from fantasy cakes, costumes, and have been history bounding since the early 80's). Love watching your channel and just subscribed today after watching your videos on fabrics and corsets. Keep up the great work! Love from Cathy in Alabama 🥰🥰🥰
I love Dragoncon! Ive been going since I was little and I am in the masquerade every year! This year I was Jinx from Arcane and last year I was rumpleteazer from cats and won best musical!

Dragon con is so much fun, this is like a big weird family in a good way that makes me feel welcome each year i attend.
youre so awesome thanks for showing us all the little details not stupid me thinking you were going to DRAGCON for half the video LOL
You not being jealous or rude to the person who used your tutorial for her hat, is beautiful. I have heard about sooo much drama in the cosplay world about other people getting overly mad about cosplaying the same character as if it's copying. You have a tutorial, clearly it was an awesome f*cking tutorial because she got an honorable mention & multiple people couldn't tell the difference lol... That is flattery to the max and I love to see it.
Loved the vlog! It was really fun getting to see you hang with your friends and I will defs be trying Cosplay Card Uno XD really hope you do another vlog for HolMat as I'd love to see you compete in Strawberry Miku

OMG your Bucket costume is so cute! It makes me want to do a costume of my own DnD character (Lucielle, gnome bard!)
I've never been to this con so I'm happy someone got to show me the on foot experience somehow Maybe one day I'll be able to go to a lot of the bigger cons. It would be super cool
hihi!!! i just wanted to say that i finished making my staff of homa for my hu tao costume while watching this video!!! i am fairly young and you are the one who motivated me to go up to my mom and say "i wanna learn how to sew" so i thank you so much for that!!! i havent started learning yet but i wish to make my own cosplays when im older. btw the staff is completely handmade and my dad made the shape and i painted it. ily sarah thank you!!
oh man I remember seeing you! The Sheraton is not far from the sky bridges either. When you walk from the hotel towards the Marriot there's a parking garage that has a connection to the skybridges at the top that we usually take - it's like five minutes of walking I think? (Highly recommend the Sheraton, it's great!)
Thanks for the dragon con intro. If there is a chance would love to join the fun.
I remember seeing you and your giant hat! If you end up coming this year, I'll be sure to give you some swag.
Legit the con looks super awesome:D. I think i wouldn't survive because it's so big and busyXD. I can already hear my anxiety attack screaming at meXD.

Ok low key watching this as comfort crafting background noise lol 😂 but you talking about the fur being held onto Joe's hood with bobby pins reminded MD of my first cosplay where I dressed as marceline from adventure time and I used thick ass soldering wire for her guitars stings, and made most of the guitar out of soft Styrofoam and ducktape. It didn't lact one con lol 😂.
Coool dancing segment xD
